It’s so funny watching people (mostly men, from what I have read) be whiny assholes about this on the main Peloton FB page. 😂 I really only stay in that group for the entertainment. Why do they care if someone else pauses their workout? Is it because of competitive output shit? Like someone could pause and come back and get a better output? Yes. The thought is you can pause and rest then restart less tired and get a higher leaderboard placement.

The thought is you can pause and rest then restart less tired and get a higher leaderboard placement. This is so stupid. Make specific competitive rides then and don’t put the pause on those. I don’t know. I find competition in exercise to be silly (I don’t mean in an actual sport setting). I find others on the leaderboard to be motivating when I see other friends of mine on a ride but I don’t use it to actually compete.

swellist, I just got this Sunny bike a few weeks ago. I didn’t realize when I got it that it monitored RPM (cadence) so I didn’t actually need the Wahoo monitor. I compared the bike’s RPM to the Wahoo sensor and they were the same. It’s a bit of a learning curve as far as resistance goes since there’s no monitor for it like the actual Peloton bike has but I think I’m doing okay. This problem has a really easy solution so why are people so bent out of shape? You still will not be able to pause live rides so there is still a way to compete fairly if that’s your thing. I didn’t catch how it will get handled for Sessions but I don’t think of those as very serious competitions.

I really had to talk myself into working out today but I felt good once it was done. Food was alright, I’ve gotten a lot of water in and I’m on track to close all my Apple Watch rings today (need to get in some more standing). 10 min core w/ Selena 10 min glutes & legs w/ Adrian 30 min lower body bike bootcamp w/ Tunde

I'll never be good enough to be on the top of a leaderboard, so I don't care. I'm competitive as fuck, but I need to be able to pause because my kids are hell beasts. It's super unfair to market these things to moms, then not allow pausing. It's rare I complete a workout without interruption and it makes me more inclined to run on my treadmill because it's not peloton brand and I can pause OD workouts because I can pause the fire stick. I'm less inclined to ride if I know there's a likelihood that I will get interrupted because I'll be pissed to miss a section of a workout.

I skipped my workout again. I'm just losing steam because I'm seeing no results (in fact, I'm putting weight back on) and I'm fucking tired. It's starting to feel useless.

Also like, the amount of people that will honestly waste time pausing it just to rest and get a better leaderboard score on a non live ride seems..:very minimal. The people that really want the pause are tiny bladders (oh hi, me) and parents with kids or whatever. Not weirdo competitive cheaters? It’s like they forget that Peloton is not a sport, it’s a health and wellness/fitness company.

You guys, I did the live XOXO Cody ride today for my 500th, and then LOST THE FEED with 7 minutes left in the ride.
But I kept hoping it would come back on, and the metrics and leaderboard and high fives were still going, so I just pushed myself and made up intervals until the end.
I guess I'll have to retake that one on demand and see if he gave me a shoutout in the last 7 minutes, because he sure did not in the first 23.

I’m sorry, it is so defeating. Do you have any sick time or personal time that you could use to just take a day to rest, exercise, or both? I can’t remember if your kids are at your house or if they go elsewhere during the day, obviously if they’re home it’s not going to help you. I do not. The joys of the lack of universal maternity leave in the US. I had to use all my PTO to get any pay while on leave. I had a feeling that was the case but didn't want to assume. I'm sorry.

One guy was like, “I’m going to stop every minute to rest and complete the 30 minutes that way.” And I was like... dude, if you want to waste hours of your day doing that, go right ahead. I guarantee almost no one will care, one bit.

We left the beach today. Sad. So today involved a lot of sitting in the car. Ended today with some yoga.
I got 17 miles in walking this month, very very little of that was jogging but it’s a small sad improvement lol.

You aren't useless, you are just tired. Is there something simple you can focus on instead that will help? Are you getting enough water? Maybe getting a veggie/fruit at each meal time even if the rest of the meal is ice cream? That might help you feel a little more in control of something, which can help.

I managed to not hurt myself tonight, so score. Worked up to 375 (was going to go higher but 365 got sketchy, so we called it a night with just one more).
That was with dealing with another equipment issue during warm ups. So my suit replacement is being shipped, so that is handled. Tonight I started loading my new competition plates for bench tonight. I was admiring them and looked to make verify that the new bar I was using right too. Except it's not. It's a 45lb bar and I ordered a 20kg bar. So I get to deal with that now too. UGH.

I popped into the Facebook group and the whiney anti-pause guys are cracking me up. It would be fun if, in addition to a high five, we could also taunt people and have a frenemy list. I would indeed taunt them if I passed them on the leaderboard. Like if we're going to make it cutthroat, let's go all in. Maybe there's a business opportunity for a spin studio for douchey white guys who fancy themselves Lance Armstrong.
Anyway! It was a solid day.
20 min 90's rock run with Selena 10 min cool down with Adrian 5 min lower body stretch with Ben

My water intake, which is usually over 100oz a day, has dropped way low. I should probably focus on that. I don't even think I drank half my usual intake today. I'm going to be super dehydrated feeling when I wake up.

Today was a rest day, but I took a walk at lunch and managed to close my rings. Stayed within macros today and was pleased with how I looked when I caught myself in a mirror today, so it’s a win! Busy day tomorrow so my alarm is set for 6:00 so that I can get my 9 mile run in before I have to start the rest of my day. Guaranteed to be the one day my kids AREN’T awake before the sun.
April was a great month for me, I got my food back on track, I added in a ton of strength workouts with the HCOTF calendar, and I’ve done awesome with my half training. Just one more month of strict run days left!

Or conversely I def notice it when I don’t drink enough bc I feel like a pile of garbage. Wanted to say though that rest is a valid use of your time. Sometimes taking a step back from the go go go is the self care we need. Hugs, lady.

When I mentioned the pause thing to MH he was very “why would anyone need that?” So I’m going to make a point to make myself unavailable as soon as he starts his workout today so he can get his question answered.

cnf remember that this too shall pass. I completely understand your statements about feeling down, no progress, gaining weight, no results. I am sorry. I am sending hugs. That voice in our heads is our biggest critics. Tell that voice to shut up and to give yourself a break. Keep telling that voice to stop it. You are doing your best. Maybe a short no exercise break is what you need. Start again on Monday. But hang in there, you are a strong woman / mama...you can do this.
