One of my best friends was just diagnosed at 37 with stage IV breast cancer. Get the mammogram! I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s diagnosis. How is she doing? All things considered, she is doing well. She just had radiation for a tumor on her hip so she is hoping that will get her some pain relief. One of the positives is that her tumor tested positive for different hormone markers, so that leaves her with many treatment options. Thanks for asking!

Thanks all. I’m in my feelings about it because we’ve always been so close and honestly he’s done so much to help me out financially when I was younger and he’s just been a titan of a man all of my life.
It’s just been a long year of grief and I wasn’t ready for another grandparent to go after 2 others just left me. I’ve been so fortunate to have amazing grandparents and great grandparents that I was super close with and now it’s doing a number on my psyche.
It’ll be good to get some of this out on the bike tomorrow. That is one reason I love exercising, being able to channel emotions into hard physical work.

So sorry about your grandpa, willow. I totally agree about exercise being a good release for negative feelings and grief. My legs were still sore today so I did some strength instead of the run I had planned. I was also kind of in a funk (not really sure why) and I wish I’d done the workout earlier in the day because it really helped my mood. 15 min core with Matty 10 min arms toning with Tunde 10 min full body stretch with Matty

Morning!
I slept in this morning but still got in a good workout.
- RK’s pre-run warmup (My body, especially my pesky left hip/IT band, appreciates this so much even though I do a 5 min walking warmup as part of my Couch to 10K sessions - W2/D3 of Couch to 10K - so Week 2 is obviously done 😉 - Adriene’s 7 min Post-Run Yoga - Lilly Sabri’s 8 min Abs

Good morning! I had my half marathon this morning. The weather ended up cooperating and it was so fun to be back at an actual race! I wasn’t running for time but was happy with my 2:17 finish. And now I’m going to enjoy some pizza and beer for lunch!

Hi.
No workout for me today. We got on the road early to come to Syracuse for the day.
My meal plan for today is garbage, junk food, cake, and coffee. And probably alcohol, which will knock me out for nap on the drive back.
The sleep deprivation I feel today is just unreal. I'm struggling so hard. It's probably good we have a full day of stuff to do because if we were home I would have had a meltdown and gone back to bed already.
I've only had like 8oz of water all day too. I've been mainlining coffee since before 6am. So sleepy.

I did my first bike bootcamp today— a 30 minute upper body one with Cody. I really liked it! I will definitely be trying more of those. Then I did a 20 minute low impact (but not low effort!) ride with Tunde, and short lower body stretching and core strength sessions with Ben.
DD informed me that it was one of her stuffed pup’s birthdays today and frantically gathered everything pink she could find (because that’s his favorite color, of course), and made pink decorations. She wanted to make a strawberry cake to celebrate (coincidentally, her pup’s favorite cake is the same as hers ;-) but I didn’t have all of the ingredients on hand and didn’t feel like spending a couple of hours shopping for, baking and decorating a cake for a stuffie. I convinced her that he would just love something pink from the bakery around the corner, so we ended up getting some strawberry macarons and a mini raspberry creme brûlée. Of course, I had to try some. It would have been rude to her pup not to!

Hello! I haven't checked in in a few days but I've kept up with the yoga and the spinning. Got my physical bloodwork results and I'm the picture of health. I also had a great physical therapy appointment on Friday morning. And I beat my Apple Watch challenge for April to burn 18,200 calories. Feeling very happy with my progress overall.
I fit my workout in around lunchtime today.
-5min warm up ride with Cody -20min low impact ride with Tunde -5min post ride stretch with Tunde -20min focus flow hips with Aditi — I loved this. Would recommend for anyone with tight hips. I haven't been able to get into pigeon pose, basically at all, not and get any benefit out of it. But the way she set it up in this practice was really great. It's my favorite hip opener and I'm glad I picked that video.
It's Mh's favorite holiday (Oscar Sunday), so I can't be held accountable for my food choices today.

I just finished Cody’s 30 minute boys vs. girls ride and it was so much fun! Except my body just doesn’t want to cooperate. I actually felt okay getting out of the saddle, but my uterus rebelled and tightened and I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So it was mostly a saddle ride. But it felt good to do something!

there are healthy options you just don't think of it when you think of places like mcdonalds.
mcdonalds - big mac no bun (or any burger) / side salad with dressing - cut up burger and top salad.
grilled chicken salad.
chick-fil-a - any grilled chicken sandwich original chicken sandwich isn't that bad either if you count macros. you can do with no bun as well.
taco bell - they have a power up menu - or even like a burrito isn't bad
subway - you can have your sub as a salad now - double the protein.
any grocery store deli or go to the store and buy salad ingredients or sandwich ingredients.
chipolte - you can double your protein on any meal they have healthy lifestyle bowls now, they are damn good too
You can search on pinterest for macro friendly options for fast food. I did this once and it showed me a new way to order when I am at fast food joints with kids.
true - but i am also a vegetarian so some of these are limited. I ended up going to wholefoods as they have a salad bar - it was just kind of a pain in the neck. I wish we had a chipotle nearby though, that sounds good right now. Sorry for the late response, I've been offline. I did not realize you were a vegetarian. None of my suggestions helped, I'm sorry. Glad you found something, even if it was a pain in the ass.

I did a side by side comparison of a photo of me from Halloween last year to yesterday and noticed a lot of puffiness gone from my face. It made me feel really good! PDQ poof

I know we were recently talking about pausing workouts on the Peloton and I saw this in the Peloton mom FB group. I haven’t tried it but thought I’d share in case it works! Copy and pasted below.
“ Discovered a way to PAUSE during an On-Demand Ride and just had to share - for those of us that need to pause (for any reason), I hope you find this helpful. For those of you that don’t believe in pausing, please just move on.... While riding an OD ride, hit “Settings” on upper-right corner, then “Device settings”. If you leave the screen there (as if you were adjusting WiFi or BT settings), your ride will PAUSE and will return to where you left off when you Exit “Settings”. 😊”
