She's always asking for a snack, which isn't a bad thing necessarily--I just need to keep more nutritious options around, and not being stuck at home all weekend anymore will likely help as the world opens back up. No shame in being food obsessed, since I certainly am! Does she end up snacking all day and never really getting full at meals? It can get into a bit of a cycle where they don’t have a good meal, then are legit hungry and hour later so have a snack then aren’t really hungry at the next meal etc. I actually had to cut out snacks completely from the kids lunches for a bit becaue they would only eat the granola bars not the actual food and then come home hungry, eat snacks then not supper etc, etc, etc. They hated it at first (I would send a big lunch like a big piece of chicken pot pie or 2 slices of pizza with no snacks in wrappers) but actually started to eat at meals. Now I'm back to throwing snacks in but they know they have to eat the meal food first. It's a habit that once it starts rolling, it's kind of hard to interupt it.

Well, it looks like I need to find a way to have them take the treadmill back. It has shipped but not arrived at the warehouse yet. I have to pay for a new water heater and it's insanely expensive. I'm crying right now, I'm so furious at this coming up.

My first 30 minute ride today. It was the 30 minute advanced beginner ride with Hannah from the mastering the basics program. It ended up being more like 28 minutes as I had to jump off the bike and run upstairs and close the doggie door because my lawn guy showed up early. Thanks all who commented yesterday about my struggle on my 10th ride. I know eventually I'll get better at it and if in the meantime I modify but challenge myself I'll end up ok. Does anyone know if there's a Taylor Swift ride? I tried to find one but didn't see it under the artist series. I don't know if this is your issue at all, but I needed ALL the seat padding when I started, because the discomfort of the saddle made everything worse. I ordered a padded seat cover (easy to find on Amazon) and those padded shorts. Now, I'm okay with just the seat cover, and I am someone who doesn't stand on the bike except to give my butt a break. I ended up getting the padded shorts after my second ride because I didn't think I could get back on without them. It hurt so much. My right quad seems to get fatigued pretty quickly so I'm trying to really stretch it before and after each ride. It only bothers me when I'm sitting on the bike, not when I'm riding out of the saddle. I'm also going to go watch one of those videos again on making sure your seat is in the right spot in case that's playing a part.

We call my 7 year old an air plant. 😂 He’s always been off the charts (on the lower side) for weight and it’s been an issue forever. All of a sudden, in the last 4 or so months, he’s been eating like crazy, so there’s hope. He still hasn’t gained weight but I feel like so much of it is just genetics.

And sleep disturbances can really mess with you on a hormonal level.

It’s weird that they’ve just been not saying anything about Jess. If she is having health issues she doesn’t want people to know about she could still just do a vague “I’m taking some time off” or something. And it’s weird that her first bootcamp back would be a 45 minute one instead of starting out with a shorter one. Whatever it is must be pretty bad if she had to stop in the middle of a live class. I hope she’s ok. I think she *did* recently take time off, but since I haven't been active with workouts, I am basing that solely on her IG. I could have sworn she said something about being "back" or something? This was prior to the workout she had to leave early.

Hello! I had a rough weekend at work followed by two lackluster workouts and a shit ton of homework. 3.5 more weeks of the semester and I can’t wait. I’ve been so sedentary during school it kind of bums me out. I also think I’ve developed some SPD problems, it’s not overly painful but my pelvis just feels... floppy. I see my OB in 2 weeks so I am hoping I can get a PT referral so I can stay active. I just post stalked and I totally missed your initial announcement- congrats!! But ugghhhh fuck SPD. I am so sorry. I am always here to commiserate with you. It sucks.

I have never heard any of her music in any class, let alone an artist series, so it may be that she won't give her permission to Peloton to use her songs. This would be consistent with her stance regarding the use of her original catalog. She’s been vetoing usage of her songs so Scooter Braun and crew don’t get paid. I assume as she works her way through re-recording her music, more will be available for film, tv, and things like Peloton. I don’t know why I’m so invested in her story because I’m not even a huge fan of most of her music but I respect her fight.

Hi.
I got my workout in, mostly.
30 minute upper body bootcamp with Adrian 20 minute strength for runners with Wilpers
The bootcamp was great! Loved it, got a good 2 miles in. I wish I had thrown in a cool down for another mile, but it's all good. My strength was heavily interrupted by children so I wasn't super focused on it, but I did enough. Calling it done.
H is staying home tonight. He got his second shot a bit ago and is coming home instead of going in to work, so I will at least have a second set of hands at bedtime tonight.

He has been in the 5th percentile since birth and doesn’t eat willingly (or sleep well) which makes him a hangry monster most of the time. He has only recently started telling us he is hungry and seeking out food.

I did a modified version of the HCOTF calendar today. 10 min Cody warm up ride, 10 min core, 10 min chest and back, and subbed a 10 min arms for the rec’d 20 min workout. Food was on target again today.
Feeling a little blah about my body, I think I was hoping to see more changes since last summer now that we’re getting back into warm weather clothing. I’ve introduced a lot more strength work recently, though, so hopefully I’ll see the payoff of that consistency soon.

20 min arms & shoulders with Selena, 10 min chest & back with Ben (really liked this one), 10 min core with Matty, and 20 min 90's ride with Bradley- first ride w/ him, he's interesting lol. I also got in a walk with DS to the park after work and then another 25 min walk after bedtime.
B - English muffin, laughing cow, turkey bacon, fruit L - leftover quinoa and veggie burger D - apple bacon pulled pork (Emily Bites recipe) on a low carb wrap w/ baked chips S - chocolate hummus on a caramel rice cake

First time back on the treadmill after so long this afternoon. I did a 20 minute soul walk with Adrian. I didn't push the pace by any means, but it felt good to do something.

I made it on to the live Drag Race ride tonight with jmcbick! My first live ride in a while, and I pushed hard but still came in about 20 points shy of my PR. Oh well. I felt really good afterward, I needed that stress release at the end of the day. The rest of the HCOF stack was good, I like arms and shoulders day. Did I tell you guys I got an unsolicited compliment on my arms this weekend? *preens*

I’m really just not digging Selena right now. She comes off very inauthentic to me lately and I’m annoyed? I don’t know. It was a good workout and I pushed a bit on the ride to see how my hip/groin feels tomorrow.

lemons, I tend to agree with you re: Selena. I have not been feeling the workouts from her on the calendar this month at all. I do like that advanced glutes and legs one that we did several times last month though.

I agree re: Selena. It bums me out because I think her programming is excellent, but I struggle with watching/listening to her. Can she please program and then pass off to someone else? Haha.

Selena’s stretching classes are some of my favorites but I haven’t taken a ton of her strength classes.
Today was an easy day- walking and some yoga. The past 2 days I’ve been rearranging furniture so my body needed some TLC.
20 min slow flow with Ross 10 min focus flow hips with Kristin
That slow flow was focused on ankle strength which is something I neglect so I appreciated it. I’m excited for the new yoga instructors!

I got in some early morning rides before a busy morning of work meetings. It was a Cody day. I needed something upbeat since the weather is nuts here and we currently have two inches of snow. Boo hiss.

I FINALLY got some sleep last night (sorry cnf, I don't mean to rub it in! ). I got up and went to CF, though I probably should have taken the extra hour of sleep instead. Especially since the WOD was rope climbs and my upper body is so sore from the last two days. But I did it! 10x16' rope climbs. I'm taking tomorrow off and running instead. I can barely hold my pen now.
