i just signed up for another in person race. 4/24 at 7:30 am. I haven't done an in person race since October 2019. I was listening to the Another Mother Runner podcast on my way to work this morning and the guest was talking about how she became a runner after running a race with a friend and becoming addicted to the high of finishing a race. I immediately thought to myself "I NEED THAT." As soon as I find an in person race in my area, I'm signing up.

Rest day over here too. I took more rest days than I wanted this week, but I've got a four day exercise weekend coming up so its good. I also fell short on protein for the week so I'm catching up today with an extra shake.
B: egg scramble with crapload of veggies S: one bar L: turkey sandwich on wheat S: protein shake D: shrimp stir fry over rice and I'm treating myself to not one but TWO glasses of wine tonight because I was good this week and also I'm fucking stressed. Lol.

It messes with my head so much to not work out on an ice cream day, even though I'm not that far over.

I am so low energy today. DD climbed j to bed with me at about 3AM, and it was not good for my sleep or my hip/ back. I’ve managed a 45 minute intervals and arms ride with Cody, a post ride stretch and a quick core session, but I am dragging!

Hey hey. Recovery day over here. Sometimes I take them when they're on the calendar, and sometimes I plow ahead with something harder. Today, I felt the need to take it! I did the 15 minutes of Pilates with Kristen, threw in 10 extra minutes of core with Matty (this one ended up being all planks too which was not wanted after yesterday's core!), and then I did a 20 min low impact ride with Jen S., but had to jump off a few minutes early for a meeting. 40ish minutes of activity, good enough. I've been trying to walk a bit in the evenings after putting DS to bed, so hopefully I'll do that tonight, but it's a little cold/wet.
B - toast, turkey sausage, fruit L - leftover chicken & stuffing, bunch of green beans and mushrooms D - Emily Bites beef enchilada skillet S - not sure yet. Our town is having an 'art walk' tonight where you can go to local businesses and do different art projects w/ your kids (this is the first one back since Covid so everything is distanced/outside). The brewery is having a painting project, so I may take DS, and you know if I'm helping a 4 year old paint, I'm gonna need a drink. If I don't do that, I'll save it for tomorrow.

CD1 (relatively on time and seems “normal” thus far so yay?!)
We walked a quick mile this morning, came home and did a longer yoga class that was more of a workout than I’ve done in a while (some core work and planks).
Then I promptly showered and napped. Did a face mask too and spent some time this afternoon in the sun. It feels good.

I was feeling kind of under the weather yesterday and this morning with a sore throat and some congestion so I took some Dayquil and felt much better. Thank goodness because tomorrow is my rest day as I am donating blood.
5 min warm up ride with Jess K 30 min Jess King Experience ride w/ Jess K 10 min cool down with Hannah F.
I am working my way through all the old JKE rides. This was her second one and I can really tell how much energy she feeds off of from people in the studio. Also Robin popped in for most of the ride and was chatting back and forth with Jess and it was so cool to see. I would not have wanted to be the people spotlighted next to Robin though in the class, because I'm sure I look a sweaty hot mess while riding, haha.

I had a sloth day yesterday. Was randomly tired AF and had weird chills and a headache. I think it was just PMS but I milked it. Today I chugged 2 cups of coffee and had an awesome 20 min hip hop run with Robin. I also did some leg stuff. Food is okay today. Haven’t had much of an appetite.
B- 1/2 banana, coffee L- Buffalo chicken salad D- lasagna

pearbear that is amazing. I did a 20 minute pop ride with Cody today. He kicked my ass. I think that might be the hardest ride I've done so far. Making the skinny taste broccoli rabe and chicken sausage dish for dinner and I think we are opening wine because we are both in that kind of mood.

Ran 3 miles in the rain after school today. I was a little slower today due to being super sore from the strength workout yesterday, but my run felt really good and was very consistent. My quads and hips are KILLING me now though. I did a 10 min stretch and it’s feeling better but looking forward to a rest day tomorrow.
I stayed within my macros for the 8th day in a row but I’m feeling just as bloated as ever, of course.

I had a physical therapy evaluation today, and I think it went really well. I was evaluated for diastasis recti, which I have a mild case of. It'll change some of the core work I do; that's fine. We also addressed pain in my right hip and low back I've had off and on for years. No one has ever been able to explain why that pain radiates into my foot and toes, but she said it's likely due to an aggravated sciatic nerve. Which I'm excited about! Maybe some real relief. Anyway, now I have homework.
Tracked my food for the first time all week today. Also, I got in a 20 minute low impact ride with Robin and 10 minutes of restorative yoga with Chelsea Jackson Roberts.

Hi, checking in from Florida! DH and I did a 3 mile run on the beach this morning. It was so beautiful - and surprisingly difficult, with the uneven surface. But also very flat, which is a nice change from PA lol. I’ve also been eating and drinking ALL of the things but we’re only here for a couple of days, so I’m ok with the extra wine and chocolate!

I also joined the unplanned sloth club. I figured as much since MIL is staying the night. The girls wanted alfredo so of course we went to Olive Garden where I ate copious amounts of carbs and cheese.
I'm going to do a 20 minute yoga before bed tonight. I've got a run and lift planned for tomorrow.

I think I might have just had one of the best workouts of my life this morning. I just have a brag a sec because I am feeling a little emotional/amazed that I have been able to accomplish this: -600th ride plus a shout out from Ally (I did her 8am 45min 80s ride this morning...really good tough ride!) -45min PR (558 output) -finished in top 5% (121 out of 2500+) A few years ago I would have never imagined I could do that kind of ride with those kind of results. I'm forever thankful for discovering a love of weight trainings plus the Peloton. Wowwwww! Way to absolutely crush it pearbear!

Tuesday was an unplanned rest day, I ended up working so late & was just plain exhausted by the time I would have been able to fit a workout in. I twisted weird getting into bed that night and didn’t think much of it but it got progressively worse throughout the night and kept waking me up. By the time I woke up for the day it was full blown sciatic pain and I could barely walk. Apparently I’m 34 going on 89. I did some stretching, alternated heat & ice, massage & soaked in the tub last night so it was feeling a lot better today but I took another rest day because I don’t want to make it worse. I’m hoping to get back to it tomorrow, if I can’t manage a ride/strength classes I’ll at least try a yoga class just to stay in the groove of being active.

Since I did those 100 squats on the HCOTF calendar Monday I haven’t had a chance to work out again from life going a little crazy and I have been so sore. I finally got the chance to workout again today and just felt really heavy and slow. But I powered through. Probably another unplanned break tomorrow, but hopefully I’ll be ready to rock again by Saturday.

When I went to my very physical hands on pt - i learned this could be from your hips. if they are too tight then your muscles aren't lining up right - if that makes sense. my hips caused foot pain when i walked or ran. we worked on my hips mobility for 6 weeks and my foot pain went away. i continue to do hip focused yoga and stretching.

Man I have sucked this week. Last night I came down hard on myself but then i told myself to stfu. Maybe I needed a week of shoving anything i wanted into my mouth. Today is a new day. I plan on making healthy choices for food and not to emotionally eat. because last night i finally realized, ultimately it was emotional eating topped with period eating. not a good combo people!
I am going to run for about an hour after work at the trails. Will figure out who's going to kick my ass and motivate me at teh same time once I get there. At home will cool down with a stretch.
Bagel with cream cheese Salad with deli meat Burgers with veggies and fruit and a salad.
Happy Friday peeps!

I was super on track with calories yesterday, but since I had two glasses of wine and a salty stir fry for dinner, I weighed up 2.5 pounds this morning. Here's your daily reminder that the scale doesn't matter! She's a dumb whore.
Full body lift and one mile run later today. B: yogurt with cinnamon protein powder, half banana, muesli, PB and raisins L: salad with grilled chicken breast S: protein shake D: pork tenderloin, mashed taters, apple carrot slaw

Morning! DH and I ran 4 miles on the beach this morning. It was beautiful and breezy and there were dolphins in the water and I never want to go home. Alas, today is our last day so I’ll be spending it by the pool with a pina coloda. Back to reality tomorrow.

Y'all will be proud to hear I stayed sloth yesterday.
NSV, I can tell my consistency with speed work is improving my running overall. I recover much faster now between intervals. Pretty cool.
I've been watching the MBF workouts while I've been running and I think I want to give it a try. Just playing around with different things for lifting until I find something I actually enjoy.

Those of you that have done MBF - I can fake the rope movements for the first couple of workouts, right? I can't get one delivered until Sunday and they don't seem to sell them in stores anywhere.
