yesterday i reverted back to that old school "seefood diet". i saw it and it went into my mouth. as cnf likes to say, i ate like an asshole. CD1 is kicking my ass. I couldn't sleep due to heartburn, my jaw still hurts and i have cramps. someone shoot me now. I did not get up to run. Kids have the dentist and then hopefully i can fit in a run. Food today - only goal is to be better than yesterday....

If anyone is looking for new earbuds, Skullcandy has the ink'd wireless (the type with the neck band) on sale for $17.49. They're not water-resistant, but so far mine have held up through a bunch sweaty summer runs.

I set my alarm for 5:45 PM instead of 5:45 AM. I woke up at 6:20 and decided to bail on my run. I could have still fit a 20-30 minute run in, so now I hate myself for skipping it. DS has a baseball game this evening, so I won't have time to get a work out in. Not a good start to the day.

Ran 5 miles this morning, it was good for my brain. My legs are barking though--I pushed it with weights yesterday and added in good mornings. My hammies are like HIIIII
B: yogurt with protein powder, berries, almonds and kashi crunch S: one bar L: grilled chicken with salad D: BLT on homemade bread (I am unreasonably excited about this), steamed broccoli

I tried out a "session" on the bike this morning because one for a Cody ride was starting at the perfect time and I really liked it. It suits my super competitive nature well. I hope they keep them around after the beta test. I ended up finishing 3rd out of 47 riders on the session, so that was fun. The 1st and 2nd were way ahead of me, though.
30min pop ride w/ Cody 15min hip hop ride w/ Alex

It's here! I was bummed to find H had XPO just leave it in the garage, but my bike is set up and working great now. I'm pretty bummed about my cycling power and strength too. I used to be a beast on the bike. I could ride endlessly outside and could crank out back to back to back spin classes sometimes doing 3 hours straight. I just did 20 minutes of a beginners ride with Leanne and it was hard. Oof. Dumb. I threw in a 10 minute arm toning with Hannah too and that's all I have time for. I need to do a bunch of food prep and cooking and eat still and ugh, too much work. I'll get through it. I hadn't cycled in years, so it wasn't a HUGE surprise to me, but man, when I got on my new bike the first time, I was like OOF. This is not going to be like running where I feel like a bad ass!

Have done the AM/PM alarm thing. Many times.
Day 3 of my "revamp" to my approach to everything and I'm struggling, but I want to give it a solid try and not bail so quickly. I'm feeling some definite frustration over how little I feel like I'm burning, but right now I just don't want to go back to marathon workout sessions every day. It's a tug of war on my brain.

That is along the lines of what I'd read. Like if you took an in-person spin class in a studio, the leaderboard doesn't allow for pausing. But if I were good enough to be ranking at the top of the leaderboard, I think I might focus my efforts towards competitions where there is more fairness like actual races and keep Peloton as a "just for fun" activity. If I was in the studio I wouldn't have to pause because my kids wouldn't be there. And it's live, so duh. I don't care that there isn't a pause for live classes, that makes total sense, but on demand should have that option. I'll be curious to see if I can still pause on my treadmill now that my membership is upgraded. I can’t pause my tread either. 😭 I feel like they should reassess their choice and I’ll bet more people would like the pause button than care about the purity of the leaderboard. Maybe now that one of the tread instructors has a baby, it will occur to them.

cnf, I'm drooling over your home gym. Awesome! Thanks! Everything but the peloton we got used on the cheap (tread and elliptical from H's work, cable machine from FB market), but it's come together nicely.

Also, can I give a WTF reaction to the fact that I can't seem to pause my workout on the bike. Is that real or am I missing it? My kids interrupt my workouts regularly, I need to be able to hop off occasionally. I'll be seriously bummed if I have to abandon my workout because there's no pause button on the bike. I'm able to pause on my tv and ipad, so that's kind of a bummer. Oh girl, I see you haven’t been on the Official Peloton page on FB. People get ripped to shreds when they mention this. 😂 No, there isn’t a pause button. It’s to prevent people from pausing to rest to up their stats, I think. IDK. I think all us parents would love one!

Forgot to check in yesterday, but I did Cody's most recent 30 minute 90s ride and it was perfect. Apparently I am motivated by NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Brittany Spears, and Spice Girls. I didn't PR, but I had a good output and felt really strong. I could have gone harder. It was a climb-heavy ride, fair warning!
I loved the rest of the HCOF stack, arm day is the best! I think it's the first time I actually felt "the pump" after I was done.

I did that 20 minute low impact ride today and it was really nice! I’m planning on including a walk and some core today. I’ve been slacking on strength training, but my time is limited and I’d rather be outside. Oh well.

Have a decent dinner and plan tomorrow better. Bailing after 3 days because of one minor issue isn't an effort in changing. You have to stop giving up because of one minor hiccup.

I got an email from (of course) XPO saying I needed to call and schedule my delivery. I called, they said it's not in the warehouse yet, we will call you when we're ready to schedule. THEN DON'T SEND THAT EMAIL, FOOLS. You got me excited to being close to getting rid of my current leg mangler.

So hey I finally was able to go for an actual walk today. Went 2 miles and slow jogged about 2/10 of a mile.
I finally felt like I could do something so that’s what I’m focusing on and trying to just start fresh and go from there.
About 2 weeks ago I had a legit massive panic attack (my first) at work, I’ve been working through that stuff. Idk it’s all foreign to me, maybe I should make a thread but I do have an appointment set up with a therapist so that’s good...
