Did the parents ever properly divorce? When I listened to the podcast, I wondered if they avoided it for marital privilege. I believe so. I don't have the divorce decree but I thought they were married 16 years.

I agree a lot of the interviews in the YOB podcast were kind of fluffy and definitely hearsay/gossipy at times, but I still think they matter. If so many women who don’t know each other got creeped out by PF, he was being a fucking creep to women. Not all creeps are murderers but when a murder suspect has a history of being a creep, it matters. I am thinking of a couple guys I’ve encountered over the years where I wouldn’t blink twice in shock at seeing their name associated with something like this.

And I’ll even go off the deep end and say I think the watch is possible. MH had a fucking timex with an alarm and it was on the second floor of our house in a drawer and I worked in the basement. I could hear that fucker go off at 2 pm every work day and it took us a while to find it. But I could hear that beep beep- beep beep, beeed diddle eee didi beep beep. If you ever had a timex you know that sound!

I just find it easy to say once you know someone did something. He creeped me out. I didn't find them credible and warranted. I know other people do.
Example for me: the coworker girl who said he was creepy but she still put herself with him alone and her boyfriend later became roommates with Paul after her alleged creepy feels.
It makes no sense to me is all. It could all be true and accurate. It's just easy to say after you know something about someone.

Both these things were on my heart and I am not here to fight I just felt them strongly. If you disagree that’s ok and I’d rather we say our opinions than hear myself in an echo chamber.

I sleep deep. The watch can happen. I just won't lean into you hearing a watch alarm at 4 am on a body outside easily.
Jesus would have to tell me it happened.

Oh, I am not fighting. I am just talking and explaining why I feel the way I do. I could be totally wrong about all of it. There is very little fact here. I like facts.

I just think women - maybe especially white women? - are taught to repress those instincts and be nice at all costs. Because god forbid you make the creep feel like a creep! She was that mother hen girl from the restaurant, she probably had a caretaker role in her own home of an alcoholic. She got her worth from being there for everyone. The boyfriend/roommate thing is weird. We are aligned there.

Yeah I don’t like when these things get spun as facts. I hold facts and “creepy feelings” as two very separate and valid things, but only one sends someone to prison.

Is that episode 8 from November of last year? I’m looking at my Spotify because I listened to it a long time ago. Yes Thanks! It was interesting to catch up again.

Like they were around and I would try not to be alone with them but sometimes it happens. Like just how Kristin was walking home and people start peeling off and you’re like “dammit” in your head because you don’t want to be left with that one person but you don’t know what to do. Obviously not smart but you know, questionable decision making in the late teens/early twenties.

I also wonder about the other woman who was walking with them and sent Kristin and Paul off together. She said she felt he was creepy too so why leave your friend alone with him? Of course it is no one's fault but Paul's but man she must be feeling a way.

Tlex, you are so right about a timex. I had totally forgotten but they were loud and took forever to stop chirping.

Of course it is no one's fault but Paul's but man she must be feeling a way. So much of the things that happened that night, even down to the exchange student seeing a couple fighting, I had to chalk it up to a college setting late at night. Because so much of it doesn’t make sense to me today, with a frontal lobe. But college Cher made a lot of stupid decisions and overlooked a lot of red flags, particularly between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

Leaving my friend at a party and walking home alone...hindsight is 20/20 for sure.

And it’s not so overtly awful that you refuse to be around the person - but if/when they do cross a thick line you aren’t surprised by it.

No that's not at all small imo My town is less than 5k and I still don't know everyone there. The internet tells me less than 25k is "small". #regional? Catching up on this thread, but my town of 600 would like to strongly disagree with the Internet.
