Everything I have seen is that businesses and orgs are ignoring it. I know the zoo, museums, and schools I’ve seen have all said masks will be enforced. The natural science museum had a statement that was almost snarky. I think it was a stupid political decision. It’s so close to re-election time. This may flip some people over to Beto or whoever runs. 🤞🏻 Is the governor election 2021? 2022 I will happily vote for anyone who is not Abbott. I'm really not sure Beto can win statewide. Even my liberal neighbors LOVE their guns. I have zero issue with Beto's gun stances, but I'm not sure how that will play across the state. I'm tired of the perception that TX is a red state. I want someone to run who can win.

My grandparents have their vax appointments!!! I was getting my son ready and on the bus while my cousin and grandma were calling and was going to get on the phone when I got back in, but all 14,000+ appointments at that location were taken within an hour. My grandma called me and they got in!!! They have multiple high risk conditions between the two of them.
My dad got his this week and the news that my grandparents have actual, real appointments has lifted a gigantic weight off my chest. I had a nervous breakdown a few weeks ago from trying and failing to get them an appt. We all are soooo relieved!!

I think Beto may have to walk back some of his gun remarks. People hear they’re taking away our hunting rifles when someone says assault rifles. 🙄

I don't know. I think Beto has a chance in 2022. He has the name recognition and he did more for Texas during the most recent storms than any of our actual state leadership did. Combine that with historically lower turnout in non presidential election years and maybe he can pull it off. I am not sure who else could run and have a chance.

So happy and envious of all the vaccines. Germany seriously needs to get its act together. I haven't been following hut is distribution your issue? I know the EMA needs to gets its act together and approve the JnJ vax. I saw they were making a decision on March 11. If we didn't drag on these at the EU level fewer countries would be considering buying Sputnik. I don't want to get into it here too much because I could go on and on and on. But most of Germany's issues at this point are totally self created. Bureaucracy, poor management, etc has led to Germany messing up on basically every single level. My friends and I are all furious, frustrated, and have basically no hope that anything will change anytime soon.

A very large suburb in my area did a big outreach for their Black community and held a pop up at their largest Black church. News reported all 750 appointments were taken up in 24 hours. That town is also supposed to be doing reach outs soon to their Latinx and disabled (sorry if using wrong word) communities.
My area is still in the Game of Thrones cut-throat competition - more demand for too little supply. I really hope the next few weeks relieve that pressure. I got my own first shot yesterday sheerly by being in the right place at the right time, and being eligible as well. Thanks, person who cancelled last minute right when I was picking up diabetes meds.
I was truly getting ready to shirk equity concerns by the end of the March and drive wherever I needed to go if some other areas didn't seem to want their supplies. Not proud of that, but.... And I live in an area where I can throw a rock and hit an internist.

It was announced today that teachers and school staff can get vaccinated on Monday! I don't have dates for my district yet but hopefully soon. I know some people are already trying to get appointments through the hospital and Walgreens because they're tired of waiting. One of my teacher neighbors scheduled tomorrow for hers @ CVS and our district announced 2 vax clinics for employees next week. No second date was given so I wonder if that’s where the J&J vax going. It’s literally another 5 lbs weight off my chest i didn’t know was on it.

I just got my invite to schedule my first shot! Of course, no appointments are open right now, but supposedly they add more often.

GDI! MIL, FIL and coworker’s mom who all already had their 2nd dose delayed from Sunday due to supply issues at petco park (Padres stadium super site, not the store! 😉) just all got notice of it delayed from tomorrow again with no rescheduled date yet. I’m back to feeling discouraged as we all try to scour other potential pharmacies and clinics for openings of the moderna vaccination.

My institution (which runs the big vaccination site in town as well) will be doing vaccine buses and going to under served communities to give vaccines to those who likely have more trouble getting them. So great!

Lots of confusion in RI right now because people don’t realize that the reason that teachers can get vaccinated at CVS is because of a decision CVS made, not the state. The state is still just age, but CVS started offering vaccines to teachers because of what Biden said. This affects 17 states.
Many “teachers are young selfish people with no health problems stealing vaccines from my mom!” comments on my town Facebook page today 😑

I have an elderly coworker who is refusing the vaccine for now because she wants to see how people react to it. And she said that it's being watered down. I'm very blinky guy at her. A whole year of seeing how people, especially the elderly, react to the virus, you know, by DYING, isn’t enough for her? 😖 This is EXACTLY what I don't get about people refusing the vaccine for this reason. We KNOW the outcomes for covid. They aren't good. Why take the chance?

Love Rachel Hardeman. The U just received a $5M gift to establish a research center on anti-racism and health equity and she's going to head it.

Yesterday’s announcement had me feeling high, and now this and calling around with no availability for a second dose anywhere makes me so skeptical of May goal now. I’m back to wanting to cry in a sad way.

I don't have a plan from my district yet and the CVS had plenty of appointments available so I took one and also scheduled the second dose. And this way I got to choose Friday so I have the whole weekend in case I have any side effects.

I saw that they're going to rebalance allocations to the pharmacies a bit as there are frequently hundreds of Northern Minnesota openings on ThriftyWhite and WalMart but rarely anything around the metro area.

I wonder if he is considering it. I love the guy. But for some reason he is ALWAYS overlooked in coverage. Like, he also fundraised after the storms like Beto and AOC did. But I didn’t know that until I saw his Twitter. It wasn’t covered in the media it was just “look what AOC and Beto did!” I don’t know if he needs a better publicist or advisor or whatever. But I feel like there are so many of people who still have no idea who he is. Which is too bad, they’re missing out. And if they would just get to *know* him, they’d be all in. Idk. I took a gummy. Maybe this is stoned ramblings.

GA opens up to teachers next week but our district hasn’t communicated plans to teachers yet. So I worked with a couple moms and we got 40+ teachers booked for appts at pharmacies early next week! I’m so so relieved for them to be able to get through this big step!

My aunt in FL has Covid now. I'm a bit surprised it hasn't happened earlier. She and my uncle aren't taking a whole lot of precautions and keep travelling everywhere.

I need to vent.
Our Board of Directors had their most recent meeting in our office on Monday and Tuesday and were all in the office for our virtual annual meeting yesterday. ~18 Board members and 5 staffers in one room, not socially distanced, and exactly ZERO masks for three days. Not one mask. I was in the office for the meeting yesterday and kept my distance and wore my mask but I was so disgusted.
And we are supposed to go back to the office on Monday for two days a week. I just...
