The second dose sucks. I'm feeling nauseous, dizzy, and my arm is hurting 10 times worse than it did last time. I'm running a 100.3 fever and I am exhausted. I got it at 10:15 this morning.

Moderna 1st shot: Sore arm (similar to tetanus shot) 2nd shot: Very sore arm (couldn't lift above my shoulder) and basically felt like I had a bad flu for ~ 1.5 days. Hot and cold sweats, nausea, exhaustion, headache, body aches.

I get my second moderna shot the day H and I are supposed to take a few days to drive to Ohio and pick up our new rv. Hoping I don't react poorly so I don't have to spend a whole day in the car feeling like I'm dying 😬

I'd heard many others say the second dose kicked their asses but I figured I wouldn't get it too bad after not having much of a reaction to the first. Much better than getting Covid though.

My swollen lymph nodes lasted several days beyond when I felt fine otherwise too.

cnf H felt much better after he took a long nap. Also rotating Tylenol/ibuprofen helped him. His shoulder has a lovely huge black and blue spot that’s starting to turn yellow finally. He thinks he inadvertently flinched when she did it

I was able to get an appointment for March 15th for the J and J vaccine. Has anyone gotten that one yet and if so how did you respond to it?

jaygee budders kaimee How long did the swollen lymph node last? It's killing me. It's super painful and causing sleep disruptions. I've had it for going on day 3 now. I didn't come back to update, but after my 2nd Pfizer shot I had a swollen lymph node that popped up the next morning along with some body aches, and started going down after 3-4 days. It's just about gone now, and it's been nearly a week.

Hypothetically speaking, if you could get your first dose now, but your second dose might be delayed, would you do it? Or would you wait until you can be sure to get both doses at the appropriate times? I would get my first dose. I think the issues with second doses will be resolved soon as supply increases. Also, they have clarified that while 21 days for Pfizer and 28 days for Moderna is the ideal timeframe for second dose, you can effectively go up to 60 days. A health system here had shipments delayed due to the weather a couple weeks back and are just getting to re-schedule their second doses so they keep repeating that on the news here.

Thank you for this. To be clear, it wouldn't be a supply issue, it would be a me issue. I leave for Las Vegas for a month (for work, not for play) and I am not eligible and can probably get an appointment for my first dose this week (I actually passed up an open appointment because I wasn't sure if I could wait that long for the second dose). It would be 1-2 weeks delayed at most. Oh even more so in that case. The first dose will give you some protection on it’s one which would be good for travel. It’s not a ton, so don’t go wild 😉 but anything is better than nothing. But, yeah, you’ll be fine waiting 2 weeks after the scheduled time frame.

I got Pfizer on Friday and I have an itchy rash. It started yesterday on my shot arm and now it’s on both arms. The internet tells me some Moderna patients are getting a rash. But I haven’t seen anything about Pfizer. If it doesn’t go away in a day or two, I’ll call my doctor.

I had my first dose of Pfizer in mid-February. My arm was only a little sore and I had a little headache. Second dose coming on board Thursday morning, we'll see how that goes.

Like a bug sting almost. Redness size of softball. Lasted about... 3-4 days for the rash to finally subside. I'm like 10 days out and still occasionally itchy. Also still have a hard marble knot under the skin. Eta also had lymph node swelling that was the literal worst just to add. I basically had it all except a fever.

Just at 24 hours post first shot of Moderna. Last night at about 8 hours I started into chills and feeling queasy around the same time that the pain in my arm started really kicking in. Today the chills are gone, stomach still a little uneasy but other than that I'm just really tired. But the tired may just be life right now. I go back on 4/6 for my second shot. I'm nervous because I hear that is the one that really kicks you.

I have to say, I am so happy for everyone who is getting their vaccinations. But I am so jealous. Missouri is so behind, yet the state I could literally walk to from my house is vaccinating retail workers, of which I am one. Literally so close, yet so far. And I feel so bad for being jealous, because everyone should be getting the vaccine, it just all feels so far away for me.
But in good news, my ILs got their first Moderna vaccine yesterday and they feel fine. My FIL is out clearing downed trees today, lol. But it means hopefully they will be able to visit this summer!

It depends on where you go. Chicago area pharmacies are still only doing 1b (which is 65+ and essential workers). I was able to get my appointment at a hospital just outside of the city (but still in my county) because they have opened up to 1b+ which includes all ages with high risk medical conditions. Retail is considered 1b according to what I can find online. What state are you in? Have you checked in on www.zocdoc.com/vaccine to see if you are eligible? I'm in Missouri. I looked after you posted and it specifically says you have to live, work, or go to school in the other state. I want to be fair and not jump ahead of people, it just sucks that I'm so close and can't get it.

If I can find somewhere that won't ask for residency proof, I might. I just haven't found anywhere that isn't asking for at least a drivers license.

Sorry, didn't mean to bring down the thread. It's just frustrating that everyone's rules are different and it's so hard to keep up with.
Vaccines for everyone!
And I AM so, so, so happy for everyone getting them. It's just hard to be patient.

Dose 1 of Moderna I had little light headedness and arm pain, difficulty raising the arm above my head for the next day. Dose 2 I had in the evening, felt fine all night. Woke with a sore arm, felt a bit funny and as the day progressed I was dizzy, sick to my stomach and my arm was on fire, chills and hot flashes along with a 101 degree fever, the nausea was a lot like morning sickness or motion sickness where moving around made it worse. The fever and sickness lasted around 36 hours for me, arm pain was 5 days with a large bright red spot bigger than a softball located below the injection site. Arm was hot to the touch, itchy and grew larger over several days before disappearing.
