I got Pfizer #1 yesterday at noon (so about 24 hours ago at this point) and have so far experienced nothing worse than a little bit of arm soreness. Honestly less sore than with the flu shot this year.
H got Pfizer #1 two weeks ago and felt a tiny bit of nausea and jaw pain that same day, and a sore arm for a day afterwards, but nothing further.

I am seven days post J&J and super anxious about the whole situation. I know the stats but they don’t make me feel any better, I’m always the weird one with side effects. I hate wishing away time but I would love to press fast forward three weeks to be out of this window.

I’m curious if anyone who is nursing has seen any effects in their littles? I got J&J last Tuesday and 8 days later my toddler developed a fever for about 24 hrs. No other symptoms and nobody else in the house is ill. My pediatrician suspects it is a sign of her developing immunity. Hope that’s the case!
As for my own response to the vaccine, I got the shot at 9:30am and was feeling lethargic and feverish by 6:30pm. I lost my appetite and didn’t really eat much until 18 hrs later. Woke up the night of the shot feeling like death but was felt okay the next day, just low energy and a bit of a headache.
Of course now I’m anxious about the clotting news, but trying to manage my anxiety. I’m on day 10 post vaccine so I’m counting down until I can feel relief. I will say that if I had a different vaccine, my anxiety would likely manifest itself in concern about side effects for shot #2, so it’s always something! This experience has demonstrated that I should finally talk to my doctor about anxiety instead of making it a joke.
All that to say solidarity with those of you who had J&J and are concerned.

My response post-vaccine was similar to yours. About 7 pm I felt super tired and achy, and the next day it felt like my limbs were moving on their own. It was a weird sensation. No fever or headaches, though another friend who received j&j had a severe headache. I hope the days tick by quickly for you! And unfortunately, yes to solidarity. Everything helps!

This is a really great point about medical professionals being more prepared to treat the problem. I imagine everyone is on high alert now due to the pause and we all know now not to push off any symptoms that should be evaluated.

I’m on day 9, and already have health anxiety just in general so this has not been helpful. I feel like I’ve had a slight headache every day since I got the shot and this morning started with slight tingling in my toe that I panicked about for no reason what so ever. Trying not to focus on the news and what not to get through it.

Just received Moderna #2. We shall see how this goes. I’m prepared to hydrate and take Tylenol

12 hours post shot 2: I had the most fucked up dreams of my life last night, and have a headache. My arm is not sore though and no fever. I also have some weird restless legs, which I’ve never experienced before.

Interesting. I got my first Pfizer last Wednesday and my jaw has been a wreck. I do have tmj disorder but this is way beyond that. I hadn’t considered a connection. I hope you feel better soon! How's your jaw doing? 8 days here and today is the first day i woke up with no pain. it's still tender but so much better than before. I’m glad it’s better! Mine hurts just the regular tmj disorder amount that I’m used to, the excess pain and burning jaw bones have reduced, I’m out day 11 and I’d say it’s been better for a few days. So odd and I’m not looking forward if shot two is “worse” if this same side effect happens.

DH and I both had really sore arms and were tired the night after our second Pfizer doses, but otherwise woke up the following day (so 48 hours post) feeling really good.
I have slight residual arm soreness, but motrin is taking care of it. I'm also walking a client who pulls quite a bit, so I can't discount that playing into it.
All and all, I'm really grateful we both got by with incredibly minimal side effects.

My general understanding of the antibodies from the vaccines is that neither IgG nor IgA antibodies found in breastmilk get into their bloodstream. IgA antibodies do coat their respiratory and digestive tracts to provide some protection but not necessarily prevention.

2.5 days past my second dose of Moderna and feeling good! I read some advice, probably here, to hydrate the day before and day of vaccine, so I was drinking water and Gatorade all day Thursday and Friday (vaccine Friday morning).
Other than the sore arm I felt fine all day Friday, and woke up feeling just a little queasy and maybe a mild headache Saturday morning. It felt like a hangover, but honestly I might not have even noticed if I weren’t watching for it. Took some Tylenol about 11am as it seemed like my headache was getting a little worse, and once that kicked in I felt fine the rest of the weekend!
Good luck to everyone still waiting on theirs!
P.S. The more you move/use your vaccine arm, the quicker it will feel better!

I haven’t slept well due to this anxiety and I’m playing the “do I have a headache” thing through my head constantly. One day at a time! Hope you are hanging in there! I talked to my therapist late last week and came up with a game plan to get through this, but it’s not easy for me.

I’m almost 24 hours post Moderna dose 2. Last night was rough. About 8 hours after the shot I started getting mild body aches, fatigue and nausea. By the 12 hour mark around bedtime it evolved to pretty intense full body aches, fever and chills.
I was hoping a good nights sleep would help but I felt like I took a stimulant. It would take me forever to fall asleep, then when I finally did I woke up again and had to restart the process multiple times so I was up most of the night. It was terrible. This morning I have a really bad headache but who knows if that’s from the shot or not sleeping.
I still don’t feel too great but I already feel way better this morning, so it seems that the super bad side effects were short lived at least.

I'm about 2.5 days out from my 2nd Pfizer shot. The soreness in the arm is much worse this time. I also had a really hard time sleeping the first night. Developed a mild body ache the next morning and took Aleve, which helped. Felt much better by day 2.

My mom's second Moderna is on Thursday and mine is a week from today. I'm pretty good about drinking water anyway now that I had to give up soda, so I'm planning to pound it Sunday and Monday.

Pfizer #1 I got a little over 3 weeks ago and had no side effects, just the sore arm. Pfizer #2 I got this Saturday night and I feel fine so far, sore at the injection site again but that's it.

Not gonna lie, I suddenly feel awful about 36 hours after Pfizer 1.
Nausea and brain fog. I just want to curl into a ball and sleep for 12 hours.

It aligns what my healthcare worker brother experienced too and he said next morning he was fine so I’m hoping that holds up for me too. Also he said “that means it’s working” so ugh fine I guess.

So I got a cold sore after my first Vax. I do get them, usually like one once a year. I havent had one in awhile so it could be a complete coincidence, but now I'm seeing that might be something that is happening to people? Has that happened to anyone here?

I wanted to update that feeling like garbage lasted about 3 hours last night and I do feel better this morning as I’d hoped.
I’m not looking forward to potential effects of shot 2 but surely better than getting actual COVID.
I wonder if there is any correlation between side effects and how the actual virus would have effected you. I know we will likely never know but I do wonder.

I posted this in the Tuesday thread yesterday but I need to word vomit a little.
Yesterday, my husband and I got our first dose of Pfizer. When he was a kid he passed out twice after vaccines, but it hasn’t happened since then and he isn’t particularly nervous about needles or anything.
We were doing the 15 minute watch after, and he was completely fine and chatting with me, 10 minutes in he started feeling unwell and got on his hands and knees and told me to get help. Once the dr got over there he was completely out and it felt like an eternity (although was not long at all) until he was back. They brought him to a stretcher and made sure his vitals were all good, etc. before we left. Shot number 2, we were told to tell them this happened and he will get it while laying down.
It was absolutely terrifying, and brought up some serious PTSD for me. I’m struggling. I am worried for when we have to go back.
Logically, I know this happens and that he’s fine. But it’s messing with me.

I told H it felt like I'd been staring at my phone trying to read an article with tiny font for too long.
