They do have walks! I think it’s under the “outdoor” section. But a just walk option without the actual class part of it? I wanted to do it without the instructor and to listen to my own music. I can’t remember, do you have the Peloton tread? If so, it’s under the “just run” option. It will record as a run but there’s no instructor (just a blank screen) and you can walk it or do whatever you want.

Oh like the “just ride” option for the bike? If you have the tread there is probably a “just run”. I prefer music or podcasts when I walk and run too, so I just keep track of those through my Apple Watch and don’t use Peloton for those activities since I don’t have the tread.

30 minute tread bootcamp with Jess 10 minute core with Olivia 10 minute arms toning with Sam 20 minute glutes and legs strength with Selena I went to a local running store to get some new sneakers but they were out of my size in my shoe. So, long story short I walked away with some new Hokas. I switched up my workout to only be a 30 minute bootcamp so I could see how the shoes felt. I’ll do another 30 tomorrow and call it even. The arms class with Sam was really good. I don’t typically enjoy boxing moves with weights but I really enjoyed how he taught that. The core class was intense. I wonder if we did the same 10 minute core with Olivia today. It was very, very intense. I FINALLY got to try out the new spin shoes I got for Christmas today (I was waiting on delta cleats), I did a recent 45 minute pop ride of Cody's and it was hard! I didn't PR but I was within striking distance of it so I will take that. My chest is sore from the chest and back strength I did with Rebecca yesterday, not a muscle group I usually pay attention to!

Day 2 of the SELF Challenge is done. It was cardio (smallest of yays) with 5 rounds of jumping jacks, front/side/back toe raps on each side, and Russian twists with a dumbbell. I did 40 seconds on/20 seconds rest with 1 minute of skaters as a finisher. I then did Ben’s 20 min Beatles Bodyweight Strength, which started off with more cardio. LOL.

I found this area the other day which is why I now have a 6 second run on my record that I don’t know how to delete. 😂

The new shoes talk reminds me that I just hit 400 miles on mine, so I am due for another pair! I still have some money on a gift card to my local running store, so I’ll try to head there at some point this week. Last time I strayed from my Mizunos and got ASICS, but I think I am going to go back to my old favorites. I was actually debating between the ASICS gel cumulus and the Hokas. I’m going to give the new shoes a couple weeks but I might just go back to my Brooks Ghost if these don’t work out.

I’m already sore from the work today. I’m going to try to dial in strength a little more than I originally intended. Thanks CestLaVie for sharing the glutes and legs challenge with Selena - I think I’m going to try it. So, January big focus on glutes and legs strength, arms toning, and core classes.

December was pretty successful - managed 25 days working out and a 12 day steak of running every day without a rest day.
H is leaving for 8 months around the 15th. So my big goals for the month are to bust my butt until then and try to find a new routine for making space and time to work out when he's not here to mind the offspring. I also want to get my eating back on track. I ate so much delicious food over the last month but my gut is seriously mad at me. Need more veg.

I got myself new running shoes (Under Armor) and ear buds for Xmas. Today was the first day using both and I think they'll be good. My ears are funny so I was worried about the headphones falling out...but they stay put.

I basically corner myself off in an area of the room and make a barrier and tell them they can’t go past that spot. It’s worked pretty well so far. Now if only I could get them to stop interrupting me mid workout to go potty or for some other random reason, that would be great.

Successfully completed my Yoga challenge day 1 and Crush your Core W2D4, more than doubled my move ring today and tripled my exercise ring on my Apple Watch so off to a good start in 2021... now to keep this momentum when my vacation ends Monday and reality of full time work + 3 kids 5 and under hits again hard 😜

cnf even the dog!! 😂 I tried yoga with the toddler around the other day and it was a circus. He’s doing downward dog under my downward dog then climbing on my back during cobra (“Nay wide mommy wheeeee!”) (Nate ride mommy 😐)

WRT to the "clean your plate" discussion, I had come a long way with that but I've been struggling again recently. I realized it's because we've been ordering out a lot due to the holiday and all of us home all week on break from school. We grew up with very little money and one of my big contributors to being overweight is not letting food go to waste. When I cook at home I cook smaller portions or use leftovers for other meals, but when we eat out I feel like I have to finish the whole thing so that I don't eat another indulgent meal (as leftovers), or waste all of the money we spent. It's another good motivator and reminder ro myself to go back to consistent meal planning and cooking at home and leave takeout for a rarer occasion so I don't fall in this habit. I’m always on board for more cooking at home when possible but I love take out leftovers! Everything tastes better when I don’t have to cook it, lol. What’s wrong with leftover take out?

Reassuring to hear I'm not the only one trying to maneuver around small kids during my workout. The other day the 13 month old snuck up on me during jump squats and got a butt to the face and toppled. Love having to pause the video to find my kid a band-aid and a guilt-snack.

Nothing is wrong with it and sometimes I will (we got takeout tonight and I saved half for tomorrow since I'm not starting tracking again until Monday), but usually it's hard to make it fit my macros two days in a row. It's fine every so often since we typically only order out once a week or a few times a month, but with the frequency we've been eating out the past two weeks I'd be eating leftover takeout and then fresh takeout in the same day, multiple days in a row, which is not ideal for me. H won't eat leftovers at all and we tend to have very different tastes with takeout, so he's no help.
