I was not feeling like working out today, but I did! I hate riding while DH is home because he’s really fit; top 5% of every ride, and it makes me feel self-conscious. But, I still did it! 30 minute 90’s pop ride with Robin 10 minute cooo down ride with Olivia 10 minute arms toning with Emma Wow, top 5% is crazy! FWIW, I hide the leaderboard on every single ride or run I do. I find it makes me anxious and working out is supposed to be about releasing anxiety, not creating it! Have you tried any of the Power Zone rides? DH swears by them because you’re only competing against yourself and seeing the progress. I always hide the leaderboard unless other HIHers are riding with me or they have already taken the ride before. Then I just filter to you all. I don’t care too much about random people to compete against. It distracts me from my focus.

sudsy I have a brand new in the box Fitbit Alta if you want it. Never been used. My H got it as a gift at some work event a year ago. ETA: I see you already got one offered. Let me know if you need a second lol. Or if anyone else here wants it. Well my roommate and coworker is working on weight loss goals with me. I can give one to her if no one speaks for yours.

He eats a ton of sugar and drinks far more alcohol than me, doesn’t have a real workout program; he’s just naturally fit and good at everything. He teases me that instead of eating my lean protein I should just eat a bag of gummy candy like him and maybe I’d improve my peloton rankings LOL. I too hide the leaderboard on rides. It stresses me out. I just want to ride and sweat.

Jumping back in here. I was 9 weeks into a couch to 10k program last summer when I was sidelined by an injury. Then the kids were home for virtual school and my training screeched to a halt.
You all are so supportive and knowledgeable and I need some accountability as I start the program over this winter. I love winter running so I’m looking forward to lacing up my shoes again. The program is only three training days per week so I need to find something for a few more days a week. Maybe yoga? Strength training? I’m kind of overwhelmed with all the choices though.

He goes hard; I regret ever looking at his average output 😬 I always hide the leaderboard, too for that same reason! I have yet to try a power zone ride, but I plan to. I’m so type A that I kind of enjoy the “parameters” the instructors set. I also want to try HIIT and tabata rides, but I’m just a wee bit intimidated still.

Sometimes it makes me wonder what I bring to the relationship. I really try not to think like that, but it sneaks in.

My goal is 40 pounds this year. I’d like to be 25 pounds lighter by the time summer rolls around. You can do it!

Good morning! I decided to try the Olivia ab workout some of you were talking about and omg!! So tough. I had to modify and take breaks. Maybe someday I’ll be able to do a full ab workout without stopping. Here was my full workout this morning: 30min top 50 ride with Kendall (I loved this playlist!) 10min cool down ride with Kendall 5min stretch with Kendall 10min ab workout with Olivia AKA death by abs 😝 This is almost exactly the workout I had mentally planned for today haha!

+whatever to hiding the big leaderboard most of the time. It gets too distracting for me. I will usually just filter out to people I follow who are doing/have done a ride, or if there’s no one under that tab sometimes on an old ride I’ll go to “here now” so it’s a smaller crew.

I’ll compete if I’m close with someone and it feels attainable but otherwise I hide the leaderboard because I’ll get to caught up in the numbers.

ohreally, both yoga and strength training are great complements to running! The added strength, balance, and flexibility gained by that cross training will help prevent injuries and make you a stronger runner. I notice a huge difference in my performance when I don't have enough variety in my cross training.

Does anyone have a favorite low impact Peloton workout? Preferably with dumbells or loops.

Also dc2london, it’s not Peloton, but check out obe - they have a free 2 week or 30 day trial and have a wide selection of low impact classes that are great.

Wow, chriskoo, that's really inspiring! I did a 30-minute strength/hiit fitnessblender video this morning. I'll try to get started with Adriene's Breath series today but if not I'll catch up later this week. Otherwise just trying to curb the snacks today and stick to one glass of wine tonight.

Good morning! I tried out my new running shoes today with a 30 min pop run with Adrian. I really liked my Hokas- the outsides of my feet were a little sore but otherwise they felt great- so I hope I just need to get used to them a bit. Posting my food here to keep me accountable...
B- apple cinnamon protein oatmeal with banana L- shrimp with sweet n sour brussel sprouts S (if needed)- bell peppers with ranch D- bunless burger with caramelized onions, mushrooms, blue cheese, and med salad. 2 pieces of dark chocolate

I did Matty’s 45 minute 90s run from before Christmas. It was really fun. At one point, he had you run at an incline equal to how many times you saw Titanic in the theater 😂. I got 4.5 miles, so that should be it for today. That would be a 4 incline for me! 3 back in 1997 and once again when it was rereleased.

Do a wonderful thing for someone, fine fine. Lol but now I feel dumb I thought we still had it.

I am so happy to see so many new people. To the comments about not being a fast runner or a beginner or whatever— please release it! We are of all sizes, abilities, goals, and skill levels in here. No one is perfect and we shouldn’t be. The best part of this thread is how we all support each other and help when others struggle and encourage each other. You got up and moved your body, that is progress! Even when it’s not your hardest effort. It all counts! Even showing up to this thread for accountability helps when you’re struggling and haven’t been as on track as you wanted.

Today is my least favorite day of the year, the anniversary of my late Hs death. My mental state is shot so I am trying my best. I did Robins 30 min 90s ride and I highly recommend it! The playlist gets a little from every genre but it’s a hits playlist that was a lot of fun. I also did a 15 min low impact with Olivia.
I’m not caring about food choices today or tomorrow. It’s about self care and that’s it.

I did a poorly timed 4 mile run that had me running in rain, sleet, and a touch of hail. But I got it done, and then I did a 10 minute arms workout and a 10 minute legs and glutes. I struggle to do strength training, but I find that if I do it in 10 minute sections, it’s easier.
