It was not too bad. Brooklyn Tweed has it as a three out of five. My first time doing a cable knit. It is thicker/heavier than it looks - it knit up pretty fast. I was going to ask if that was Brooklyn Tweed. I have that pattern! Did you use the Brooklyn Tweed yarn? I had bought this pattern so long ago, I don’t think they had yarn at that time. They recommended Cascade Lana Grande- which is what I used. The updated pattern now suggests Quarry. I have started a new blanket and have subbed out Shelter for Cascade 220. It is softer and will be a fraction of the price. [/quote] I agree, the shelter isn't very soft. I had bought some yarn to start it and was like would not want to snuggle under that. Good choice!

I saw a similar pattern online, but it was for a 6 inch ring, so I had to adapt it to ab10 inch ring. First time I created a pattern directly onto the fabric. I am nearing the end. Over 14000 stitches when I stopped keeping track. Screw carpal tunnel and nerve crap in my elbows. Those with experience...should I backstitch the mountains and tent? I am definitely backstitching the border as I screwed up the tiniest bit at the top.

I don’t think you NEED to backstitch the mountains and tent, as the colors make everything look very clearly defined. But if you want a little more texture and definition you could. A beautiful piece lucilleaustero!

I think I found a solution to my circular needle storage crisis…just got this at goodwill for $3 I’m going spray paint it and hang it up. After I dust it, obvi. This could be cute?

This is a timely bump of this thread. I just finished a quilt I started maybe 6 (or more) months ago. It’s my biggest so far. I love the fabrics but I was sooo tired of working on it. Happy to be finished.

I was going to give my sister something I already made for her new baby’s nursery. Instead, I decided to send her some ideas and make something new. It was meant to be general inspirations of what she was drawn to, but of course she immediately fell in love with an octopus that is 16 different shades of blue and about 30,000 stitches 😂 (she’s not being an asshole, she knows nothing about cross stitch). I’m enjoying making it despite all the counting, but it’s gonna have to be a Christmas present. ETA: This guy. He’s going to be so much effort, but look so cool! etsy.me/3ePeW1a

It’s not perfect but I love the way it looks. Binder clips need a change…

Made this vest for my son. First time doing intarsia - lots of YouTube. Need to crochet two loops for buttons. Was supposed to be a shawl collar but I misread the pattern. I think he will rock a pop collar more.

Hi, I’m a lurker over here but I saw this thread and it’s great timing as I’ve just picked up my knitting needles for the first time in a couple years. My bro and sis in law are having a baby boy in December, and I just tested this pattern out on some random yarn I had hanging around. I love it and just ordered a pretty color way to do the official blanket! I am also seeing all the cute baby clothes I can make and am 😍. (And we’re actually finally ttc for REAL and I’m thinking of thing I can make for myself and spawn)

The pattern looks very similar to a Brooklyn Tweed pattern I did a couple of years ago.

I’m so glad this was bumped. I’m way behind on my temperature blanket right now. I’m just really hoping I don’t have to come up with a color for 100+ degrees.

I made some cloth napkins today. That was my first project when I got my sewing machine and my family has been good about using them so I made some more out of the remaining fabric (DS’s old comforter). My sewing has improved so much and I have to say my ones today look damn good. Mitered corners and all!

I've been busy working on upgrading my wardrobe that I still haven't made napkins like I want to do.

The first panel of Epic Storybook Princesses is done! Two more panels & nine movies left to go, but I’m probably going to work on a different smaller piece first, just to change things up. (Please ignore the wrinkles, I haven’t ironed it yet.)

Progress pic on blanket for baby boy nephew. Was going to do a lace pattern but this yarn has so much personality it was competing. So, made a game time decision and will do a bottom, middle and top row of pattern and the rest will be simple stockinette to let the colors play. A little less than halfway done, baby due in December. Gonna have more time on my hands haha.

If you are a knitter or crocheter and you would like to help me with a special project, please PM me. It will be low time and yarn requirements. It’s super low skill level, so beginners are more than welcome!

How hard is it to do your own crochet pattern? I want to make the boys each a blanket that has logos for their dirtbikes on them. The harder one would probably be this one. C's would just say KTM so pretty straight lines. My mom mentioned doing squares and piecing it together but I would love to be able to do color changes as I go through rows and make it look slightly less pixilated.

Pistol I made my own pattern for my hooded scarf. I looked at a few on line and got the general idea and then just started going. I think with something like this it would be a lot simpler since the stitch count wouldn't change...it would just be figuring out when to switch colors. Could you maybe use your projector to cut out and overlay and then just use that as a guide, laying it on top when needed to see if it's time to change colors?
