Oh that is just so adorable! That’s one of my favorite shades of blue.
The splitting is what I hated about the purple yarn I was just using. I’m on the last skein of yarn for this giant blanket. I started learning to crochet with it so it’s at least 15 years in the making, mostly in storage. It’s the size of a twin comforter. I was a dumb youth.
I also embroider and knit, sew, and make jewelry. I made everyone I know hats this year and I did a little fox embroidery for my mom too. I got a set of three kits on amazon but the others are on colored fabric and it was really discouraging and difficult so I gave up on one and haven’t started the next either. I haven’t knit or sewn in a while. My machines are still packed and I don’t have any craft area set up.

my favorite yarn ever is bernat blanket yarn because it’s so fluffy and projects fly by with it!

I think my next project will be a small lap blanket for my mom with some leftover blue, green, purple, brown, and grey wool yarn.

Joann's has a sale on yarn. I'm stopping by after I grab scripts from the pharmacy tonight. I'm considering grabbing some sew plush fleece while I'm there. It's supposed to be super soft and stretchy and perfect for lounging pants. And maybe some French Terry fabric if I can find some that goes good with a certain fabric I have that I need an accent color for.

I knit. A lot, lol. Just finished a blanket for my parents for Christmas and started on another throw for the family room because the kids always fight over the one I made. I have a lot of projects planned for the year, but with this new job, I doubt I'll get to a lot of the labor intensive ones. This is my favorite standard blanket. I made it in the assigned colors, and then replaced the gold color with a variegated blue for my mom. I'm making a totally different color scheme in the new one for the family room. So I'm sure they'll now fight over who gets which :::eye roll::: www.lionbrand.com/products/simple-striped-afghan-knit

STP that blanket is gorgeous! It's easy too, it's just garter and stockinette, changes at the end.
Highly recommend as a beginner project. Wool-ease Thick and Quick is easy to work with.

Oh and I used my projector to cut out the boys' pj pants last night and it was so slick! I'm in love with it! I have a handful of other sewing projects planned so hopefully its just as quick for those as well. I do miss being able to lay out all my pieces ahead of cutting to play fabric tetris but I'm sure I'll figure that out soon.

I have a workmate/friend that is having a baby girl end of March. So far, I have crocheted him a hat and scratch mitten (#2 in the works). I’m going to make him a couple sets and some crocheted toys (my daughter loves them, so I’m hoping his will too 😝) I made this doll for DD for christmas. I’m stoked. It’s Marie Curie. I was hoping to finish Ada Lovelace, too, but I haven’t gotten a chance I also made all my kids matching grinch hats 😂

I do a lot of crafts! Lately I've been knitting a bunch, but I do other things, too. I live on the edge and like to jump into things with YouTube how-tos as my only guide, so this is my current obsession and first foray into double knitting. I'm immensely proud of the invisible cast-on: I made this cross stitch for my sister this year, who is an artist who does ink and watercolor calligraphy and Celtic knots, among other things: I also made a quilt this year! I wanted a car/picnic quilt for road trips, LOLME thinking I'd be going anywhere with my family. But I love these colors and it makes me so happy to spread it out on the floor for movie night:

I recently finished a sweater for me that I love love love. I made my own pattern so the fit is perfect. I also finished a sweater for DS2 with stripes of colors he picked out, and now I’m working on a baby blanket for my neighbor. It’s squares of cable work in shades of mauvey purpley colors that look like woodland creatures (so far I’ve finished owls, bunnies, and hearts).
I have a whole list of things I want to accomplish this winter with all my downtime.

ktg I love that double sided knitting! One year I made a geek-a-long blanket for my brother and sister. I need to do one for DS1 some day.

You are all so talented. I am not, but I am still lurking this thread. I actually enjoy cross stitching (although I haven't done it in years), but I would always just buy the kits that had the patterns.

I think I'm going to try my hand at crochet again after the New Year. One of the gals from my BMB is talking about opening her own yarn shop and she lives nearby, so that will be cool to be able to give her some business.

cmb did you follow a pattern for the Marie Curie doll? D2 keeps asking for a while doll family to look like us and I have been aghast at the prices of custom dolls but maybe I could crochet us.

I am a knitter I knit this fox poncho as a gift for my sister. I was merging a couple of patterns and adapting a circular pattern with cables almost every round to flat, so it was a challenge!
