I've loved Polly Walker since I saw her in Rome...which I might have to revisit now.

Im half way through the season and my most favorite thing so far is Eloise’s tiara and necklace from episode one- where the queen announced her Diamond. Of course I can’t screen shot it, but I’m obsessed.

I liked this season - I think my favorite character is the queen. I haven’t read the books but my understanding is she isn’t a main character and I’m happy they made the decision to tell her story. I can’t wait for the prequel series on her.

The actress is fantastic and I’m looking forward to the prequel.

I loved Lady Danbury last season. She was my absolute favorite, but I feel like she lost some spunk/sass this season. IDK. I do enjoy the queen a lot.

That absurd. Mary is dowdy and annoying. Eloise is an icon.

She was always in a position of playing catch-up or cleaning up a mess. I think it’s different when you’re sponsoring a young lady versus being the “aunt” to a titled man. With Simon, she could make suggestions but he had the final say, here she was meant to help these girls and be there sponsor. Putting her own reputation on the line. If Simon messed up, it didn’t blow back on her the same as if these girls did! 🤷🏽♀️

That absurd. Mary is dowdy and annoying. Eloise is an icon. I don't love Eloise but she is definitely not a Mary Bennett. They seem on opposite ends of the introverted spectrum. Eloise wishes she could disappear into the romantic background, but knows her mind and opinions and shares them freely. Mary is the background. Lady Danbury is easily my favorite. She is who I would want to be in older age.

I feel like Benedict was my least favorite of the older brothers. I feel like Sophie needed someone better. I said what I said. Benedict was a major asshole and Sophie deserved so much better than him. I was so mad at him the whole book. I’ll be 100% okay if they just throw out the whole story and redo it for him and her.

I need to know which book library scene y’all are upset didn’t happen right? The one with the storm or the one where she interrupts his tryst with the singer? I’m cool with the storm one being gone. Honestly the storm thing felt a bit contrived in the books. I’m also cool with the bee sting happening differently because sucking bee venom out of a boob is ridiculous. His hand on her chest would have been enough. I do wish the love triangle hadn’t been that long or intense. I couldn’t stand Edwina. Kate was freaking awesome though.

So true! I took a six month hiatus from the series after that one because I hated it so much. I like the actor playing Benedict in the show so I’m hoping they can salvage it somehow.

Anyone else get really strong Clueless vibes from the first few episodes? Edwina’s curls were intensely Brittany Murphy and the whole setting someone else up only to find out you are in love them yourself? I don’t think the book had such strong Emma vibes since events were changed.

I loved Lady Danbury last season. She was my absolute favorite, but I feel like she lost some spunk/sass this season. IDK. I do enjoy the queen a lot. I felt they didn’t do her right this season. She was so popular Season 1 that it felt like in places they shoehorned her into places this season and it lessened her impact. I felt the same way about Eloise’s storyline season 2.

I haven't read any of the books yet. I thought I would miss Hastings/Rege so much but Anthony/Jonathan made me (almost) forget all about him. Add in Simone's Kate and S1 is a distant memory.
I just finished watching S2 (yes, I forced myself to pace myself) and the finale was my 2nd favorite episode after E3/Pall Mall and the bee scene.
Anthony carrying Kate back gave me Sense and Sensibility vibes.
Of course, Anthony is so guilt-stricken that he can't even bring himself to visit. Because we need more drama before the season is through.
His response (and OMG, I melted): "Is that a promise, Kathani Sharma?"
Saying her non-Anglicized name just spoke to me so much.
Wrapping up the series with another game of Pall Mall was perfection.
They are seriously just THE BEST couple. Who cannot keep their hands off of each other.
I laughed when Edwina pleaded with Kate to come back and like clockwork, her eyelids begin fluttering. Wouldn't she have tried this already days ago?
Anthony's relief and teary eyes when he learns Kate is awake.
Then the long-awaited conversation where Violet expresses her sorrow that it was Anthony who had to be with his father the day he died. And then, going further, to share how she is sorry for what happened to him afterwards, where he was forced to be the head of the household at only 18 years old and too young for such responsibility. Then her encouragement of him to go after Kate, no matter what, as she would still choose the same life with Edmund, knowing how it wound end. Yes, Violet, "real true love IS worth it."
The angsty visit with Anthony finally coming to see Kate, tulips and his mother's ring in hand, but of course, it's not time for HEA just yet as Kate believes he's there and asking only out of obligation.
We had a nice moment with Anthony and Gregory with Anthony sharing details of their father, including his love of a good prank, with his youngest brother, who was likely too young to really remember him.
The reconciliation scene between Mary and Kate was so heartfelt and I love how these two view each other as mother and daughter. There are no steps, no halves, only wholes.
I cheered when the Bridgertons and Sharmas showed up at the Featherington Ball and Edwina and Kate decide to have some fun and dance with each other.
Edwina pushing for Kate to get her man and Kate using her recent injury as an excuse to lean on Anthony. That moment where he asks how many fingers he is holding up was hot, of course, as all their moments are, but yet so sweet and caring.
I finally finished S2. While the E3/Bee episode was my favorite of the season, this came very, very close.

Elsewhere, Portia made me proud as she was the mother lioness protecting her cubs and getting the goods on Jack.
Eloise had me rooting for Pen (ducking) with her ripping Pen's room apart. Eloise kind of helped herself into the pickle she's in.
Also, fuck off Colin because you suck.
Queue up "Wrecking Ball" as Kate and Anthony dance and I loved the use of all the modern songs (I liked it when they did it in Reign as well). Screw the other couples who abandoned the dance floor. They knew they couldn't compete with their magic.
I loved Queen Charlotte shutting up the snarky ton and lying that it was her decision to cancel the wedding and basically telling them to get the fuck back out on the dance floor.
Then the scene in the garden where Anthony pours his heart out and confesses his love and she confesses right back.
Then this exchange, a teasing Kate: "You DO know there will never be a day where you do not vex me."
His response (and OMG, I melted): "Is that a promise, Kathani Sharma?"
Saying her non-Anglicized name just spoke to me so much.

No. I just start posting thoughts, which I clearly have a lot of (sorry for the giant post), but then I pause mid-post as I see others chiming in and that makes me have even more to say. But on a laptop. Yes, I'm a nerd, but only with a few shows.

@melaniecarmichael, I loved that long list! I also loved all the references to Jane Austen books and movies.
The falling into the lake... Pride and Prejudice '95 The carrying Kate to the house... Sense and Sensibility '95 but also Persuasion '07 (my favorite Jane Austen book) when Louisa was playing on the wharf. Anthony's list of the perfect woman... sounds a lot like Mr. Darcy's Accomplished Woman. (And my goodness Edwina had most of them) Kate eavesdropping on Anthony, also reminiscent of Elizabeth overhearing Mr. Darcy say she's barely tolerable. Kate and Anthony's hand touch... Pride and Prejudice '05 Even the relationship between Edwina and Kate was similar to Elinor and Marianne. (Sense and Sensibility)
I loved all the Jane references!

MelanieCarmichael, you summed up so much of what I was thinking! I've had to avoid this topic until I finished, which was last night. I also got Hamilton vibes with Kate and Edwina + Anthony, like with Angelica and Eliza + Alexander. I love the friendship between Eloise and Pen, and I hope they are able to patch things up. What Colin did was terrible, and it felt so familiar, overhearing what boys were saying about me as a young teenager. I hated that so much. I enjoyed the music again this season! Music from S1 still get played a lot in my house.

Colín is my second least favorite Bridgerton brother. Not only because of what he said on the show, but his hang up on the books (won’t give out spoilers) made me eye roll. So lame.
I get Anthony’s and the dukes hang ups. Benedict’s and collins personal storylines kind of sucked and made them kind of assholes.
