I'm going crazy with A and her accidents. She's on her 4th pair of underwear today and it's only 11:30. But if I suggest diapers, she's all offended and screams "no! I don't need diapers!" I feel like I broke her, but I'm not sure how. Or what to do. She starts preschool in September and there's no way she can go through so many changes in half a day. Can you go back to a naked day, or commando with no undies? Will she go if you prompt her or set a timer?

But sometimes she'll be like "no, I don't need to go, my undies are dry!" So it's like she doesn't get the concept of going before pee starts 😟

I started making it a game and when I'd prompt him to go would race him to the bathroom telling him I was going to go first. He'd run to get in line first. Within a couple of weeks he was good.

Today is my first day back in the office after being in Yosemite for five days, and I have a self-assessment due. Kill me.

On the plus side, there is a tenant appreciation event in my office building today, and they are serving It's-Its.

rugger hi life twin! P went through this recently. It seems typical to regress occasionally. We went back to stickers. If she made it to the potty before her undies were wet, she got a sticker. Good luck!

J decided last night that if we wouldn't let him pee in the backyard he would pee on the couch. Someone tell me this multiple kid thing gets better. generally, girls do a little less of the peeing in random places thing, so there's that...

I'm apparently at the stage of parenting where I want a lounge chair for my deck so I can snooze while my kids play.

Well, E tripped and fell onto the tile step into our living room and cut her forehead. Luckily Grandpa was able to come and sit with the older kids and DH was able to meet me at the ER (I was super annoyed that our doctor's office said they couldn't do stitches and we had to go and wait forever at the ER). They ended up gluing it. She seems like she is fine.

Oh gosh, critter! Glad she's okay... it totally sucks that your doctors office doesn't do stitches... makes me wonder what else they don't do?!

It did seem strange to me when she said they aren't equipped to do things like that. I was thinking seeing her regular doctor would be the cheapest route and easiest in terms of any followup. They actually suggested I take her to the Children's hospital which is like an hour away, but that seemed excessive to me since the hospital 5 minutes away was perfectly capable of handling it.

It's 10pm. The house is clean. The laundry is done. The children are asleep. I'm drinking a beer on the couch and no one is touching me, I don't hear any YouTube kids sounds, and I don't have to be concerned about anyone else's bodily fluids making it into the toilet.
This, my friends, is bliss.
Although I do actually miss those tiny creatures when they're sleeping.

FWIW my kids'doctor doesn't do stitches in her office either. She can do glue, but no staples or stitches. We had to go to the ER for D's staples. They removed them at the pediatrician's office though. I've also had acquaintances who have had similar experiences with different pediatricians in my area. So I don't think it's that uncommon.

That's good, but I can't help but think - why? Any excuse not to funnel people to the hellish waiting box that is the emergency room is good, in my book. Ah well. I should call the kids' pedi this morning and ask!

I should call the kids' pedi this morning and ask! Yeah, I don't disagree with you. The ER waiting room is awful. I wonder if it's due to the local anesthetic they give with stitches/staples? IDK. Our pediatrician evaluated D for a concussion and did all the other care he needed before sending us to the ER. So it definitely was specific to something about the stitches/staples.

R1 had a friend and his family in town for the last coy of days. 6 of them. They camped in my living room. I was worried but it worked out fine. I appreciated that the wife was appalled that her husband planned this when we had a 2 week old baby. He told her the baby was at least a month old. She was awesome and we got along great. She also wants to cd her next baby.
R1 took yesterday off and took R2 to do tourist things with his friends. Little dude was so tired he was slurring his speech and went to bed without dinner. It was pretty hilarious. I'm really glad they got an awesome father/son day.

My DH seems to think we need to send flowers to every funeral or hospitalized person he knows of. $100 for flowers every other week just isn't in the budget. I'm sure he isn't comprehending the expense, even though I always tell him what they cost, and I'm just getting basic small arrangements. Last time was like $50 for just balloons! Anyone have suggestions for where to order flowers to be delivered to a different state?

My husband thinks he's hilarious. Getting my car inspection today. I tell them the registration is in the glove box. The guy comes in and asks me to go get it for him. I find a hot pink dildo in there. OMG. Hahaha! Poor guy. I'm half mortified but can't stop laughing. Now....how to pay back husband?

Anyone have suggestions for where to order flowers to be delivered to a different state? What about sending a card and amazon gift card for $25? You can even get discounts on gift cards when you buy them in bulk. Flowers are nice, but to me they can get over powering very quickly and it's a lot to take home. A gift card is easily slipped into a wallet, bag, or used while at the hospital for books, movies, or ordering needed things that can be delivered to home.

Last time I flew, he put a huge dildo and a bottle of lube in my carry on. He was sure the lube would trigger them to search my bag. Thankfully they didn't. I'm no good with payback, but I hope you come up with something really good! ETA: This was premeditated well in advance. DH went to the sex shop and told the guy what he was wanting to do. The guy was like "I have just the right thing!" and then threw in the lube for free. DH's coworkers expected to find him murdered.
