There is a very handsome man getting his car worked on next door. He seems visibly anxious to get his car worked on and get out of there, so he's on his phone and pacing all over the place. I'm just enjoying the view. I thought about posting a picture of him and, of course, realized that that would be shitty of me to do. So instead I spent entirely way too long looking at pictures of male models so that I could show you all one who looks like him. Here is a very good likeness: My guy is also barefoot.

I'm not a "noob" anymore. Hurrah! I can't see Tony Hale as Buster anymore, only as Gary from Veep.

We had a great playdate this morning with new people! Not only do both moms have 2.5 year olds, but the one also has a 5 month old and the other has 6 week old twin girls. And even better, neither of them has family nearby so they totally "get" that too. I think we all hit it off and that makes me so happy to finally found potential mom friends in our new town.

Mom friends make things so much easier, even if you have family in town. I'm glad you've found some IRL people that get it.

I do that pretty often with tv shows (keep associating the actor with a previous role). Like when "Smash" from Friday Night Lights showed up as a surgical intern on Greys, I just thought, "huh, didn't see that coming." Of course both characters had huge egos that got in their way, so that helped.

Speaking of mom friends, I get to spend the day at a craft show with a couple of mine tomorrow, sans kids! I haven't done anything like that since before E was born.

I cut out a pattern to make myself a swimsuit to go to the beach on Saturday. I'm slightly terrified about sewing expensive stretchy fabric, but it's now or never. I've had the fabric for a few months now.

I would love to make some mom friends! I've been going to a nearby playground a bit but haven't hit it off with anyone yet. I'm shy so I find it hard to strike up a conversation, but I do try. I find that most people don't want to talk or even make eye contact. Maybe I'll try a different playground.
My husband is working late tonight so I'm on my own for the evening and bedtime. I'm picturing myself having a glass of wine in the backyard once L is down for the night.

mintyblueair I understand the feeling. I met my mom friends at church. I am also shy and would have never become friends with them had we not all been in the same bible study group. Even though I've known them since before we had kids I still feel pretty awkward with them, especially because they are really close friends with each other. There used to be a larger group which made things less awkward but most of the other moms have moved away over the years.

I just came downstairs and M looked at me- got all excited and said "mama do you have a baby in your belly?"
Guess I should lay off the junk food.

I think I'm actually going to get an abdominoplasty with muscle repair to correct my DR and dog-jowl belly skin. I'm a little (ok maybe more than a little) nervous, but also very excited to get to this decision for my overall health and well-being

I got my first Canadian web order today! Shipping to Canada is CRAZY expensive, but I decided to add it to my website anyway. This person ordered a whole case of hot sauce (which has a 25% discount), so even with the crazy shipping, the per bottle cost was less than some of the specialty places that sell my stuff. I've triple checked all my documentation and I still won't be confident that I did it right until it's delivered.

My DH is horrible at letting me know when he'll be home at night (mostly because he never really knows) and it makes it so difficult to time dinner and evening activities. Lately I've been using the GPS on his work truck to determine when he'll be home at night and it has made a huge difference in my evenings. It is amazing how much easier it is to time dinner to be ready when he gets home rather than cooking dinner, struggling through dinnertime with the kids solo, and then having to warm everything up and wait for DH to eat so we can move on with our evening. Unfortunately his truck is in the shop today and I don't know the number of the spare truck he's driving, so I'm winging it tonight and feel totally lost.

I'd love to hear about your experience after it's done. I'm thinking I may need/want this eventually. I'm 100% having a breast reduction when T is done nursing. Also excited/nervous about that.

I got everything cut out and I started sewing and my machine hates the swim fabric lining. I'm putting it away for the night and will troubleshoot tomorrow. I've got to get it finished since the alternative is bathing suit shopping and I refuse to do that.

Kind of like you would do with a paper pieced quilt. Then the machine isn't touching the offense fabric. Good luck!

We'll make a trip to Target this morning to get some tissue paper.

We went to the used bookstore last week and G picked out BFG as his new chapter book for me to read to him at bedtime. The poor grammar is killing me. Like I just want to be done reading the book just so I don't have to say the phrase "I is" anymore.

Day 6 of our trip to visit family and I am so done. So done.
Yesterday my mom referred to my lifelong struggle with anxiety as "just a phase". All I could manage to respond was "wut?".
