My dad bought C a Lego juniors set and gave it to him last night. Guess who was up at 4:30am to play? He said his tummy hurt but upon further questioning he admitted that he was "just prending (pretending)" so he could play 😔
Half day for me today. I have flex time I need to use so I'm going to leave early, nap, and tidy my house.

Enjoy your half day wedding! Although I think you're going to have to o rearrange your plans--it'll probably take you a couple hours to haul all the he boxes in off the porch and open them. Last night we went to Walmart and got solid red tees and shorts for the girls because they're on the red team for soccer. We decorated them with fabric paint to make them jerseys. They're going to look cute tonight.

I'm ready to go home. Z is sleeping like shit on this trip and it sucks that MH isn't here to trade off dealing with her. O told me he wanted to go on an airplane today and go back to his house. We fly home tomorrow.
Today we are going to an amusement park near here that is similar to a Six Flags. I also need to get O to poop before we go because he's really backed up here and our diet hasn't been great either.

The AC was fixed yesterday -- yay! We have dance this morning, and then I'd like to get Josie to the pool before we have afternoon storms, but I'm feeling lazy, so we may end up at the diner for lunch and then home for a movie.

MH and I are attending a retirement seminar at work this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Although we are still young, he does have 20 years of govt service in already. My mom said she wishes she would have attended something like this earlier in her career to better prepare her. So we figured it was time to start planning better for retirement.
Tonight S has swim lessons. Then tomorrow I have family coming for the weekend. Busy busy busy.

Morning. I'm so tired all I want to do is cry and sleep. But I'm in the office, so that isn't an option. Dh and I had a bit off a spat this morning (doesn't happen often) and both our strategy is to be silent, not the most helpful. We're fine now, we could direct our frustration towards each other to joined frustration towards my MIL. She wanted ds to go to a psychologist because he threw a fit about not wanting to go to a theatre (he's a little scared) and we needed to 'push trough' with this issue... we've learned to pick our battles lady. Dd still has a fever. I need this day to be done.

csho sorry I didn't respond yesterday. But that's great about lunch! Ds is okay, depends on the day, how tired he is (how tired we are). We're going on vacation in a few weeks and we're hoping to make some small steps there.

That's crazy to think you're at a retirement seminar already lfig! I have been to them as well, but as an HR person, not someone looking to retire 😁 But we do get a lot of young retirees as well (early 50s) as they do have the service credits.

I took the day off bc I have my interview later. This is the one that I don't really need but maybe it could be a good opportunity. I don't really have much else planned for today aside from a target run.

We had a customer come in for advice last week because he's 3 years from retirement and only has 42K in a 401K. They said they just never really paid attention to how much they were contributing and assumed it would be enough.

My nephew is potty training. He's 2 years and 3 months. I don't really think he's quite ready but I think Matthew still not being trained freaks my brother and SIL the fuck out. So they are trying early. But because nephew is in pull ups, Jack won't wear diapers. "pull up ike Charlie!" is what he keeps yelling lol.

It's storming today and the rain just hit so hard I had to turn my music up.. I'm glad I brought left overs for lunch. I'm not going out in this crap. Maybe the power will go out and I can go home. snoopmommymom, you guys bailing on the amusement park? It's pouring here which is 45 minutes from there.

Morning!
C is yelling at me from the jumperoo while I finish my coffee. She started waving last night and it's the cutest thing; she's so pleased with herself.
B is at camp and has a swim lesson at one. This afternoon we are hosting some friends of ours up at the pool; we met them when we were stationed in KS and they're in the area visiting family. I'm excited to see them, they have been in Japan for the last couple years!

I took the day off. I slept like crap and I just don't want to deal with work people. My sciatic is acting up again, so my entire leg hurts just to move it, so I see myself just laying around all day.

lfig that's scary/exciting about the retirement seminar. Does your H anticipate 'retiring' any time soon and if so, would he do anything (in the private sector or another govt agency) afterward?

I have 73 (thats the actual #) calls to make today and tomorrow while boss is out. I hate this DOL change. I don't want to talk to 73 people or leave a bunch of messages.

I need to read yesterday's thread. I ended up working 13 hours yesterday and at hour 11 was told S is taking today off. Off course she is. When boss B told me I could tell she was prepared for me to get upset. I asked is she okay. Boss B said yes. Then I said ok and walked away. I've decided to not complain any more. Boss B is just as frustrated so I'm not going to vent to her anymore.

Tip: if you preface a FB post with "I'm only bragging a little, but..." -- you're bragging and it's obnoxious. :Eye roll:
