Cauliflower rice is STUPID. That's all I have to contribute.
We did make guac last night and I could eat my weight in guacamole. YUM.

Day 20. I'm going to a party tomorrow that is going to have basically nothing I can eat and I'm anxious about it. It's at my grandparents house so I'm comfortable bringing my own food at least.
B - eggs L- salad D - leftover chicken breast and I'll sautee some yellow squash and zuccini to go with it

We went out last night and I had to cheat a little bit. We had a hard time finding a place where I could even get close. I had ribs and broccoli. The sauce on the ribs for sure had sugar and the broccoli was probably cooked in butter. Oh well. I'm really not worried about it.
Day 5 menu: B- so far black coffee, will make some eggs later L- probably salad w tuna D- spinach mushroom bowl with cauliflower rice
I actually really like the cauliflower rice. It's not rice, but I find it tasty with proper seasoning.

ZOMG I hate cravings. This is really bringing to light my relationship with food. It's helpful and also super annoying.

pivot, I KNOW!!! I am so so so so so DONE. Can I ask how much you've lost and how you are feeling? I failed and had shortbread my mother made from scratch, but only a small amount. Both my H and I have learned some excellent lessons regarding how we eat. B- Eggs and brisket L- Chicken avocado salad D- Probably meatballs with red sauce. Work is bringing in CPK for lunch, I will steal a small something and keep it for tomorrow like gollum with the ring

Peekaru LAST DAY! I'm feeling great still! I lost a total of 10 lbs. so far but I have yet to measure inches. I moved down a pants size so I assume inches were lost as well. I'm going to continue eating W30ish (aka as compliant as I can be) 90% of the time and allow myself some small cheats which seems feasible to me. I hope your CPK tomorrow is amazing.

I'm done!! Today, I will have some black beans and possibly peanut butter. I don't know how I will reintro, the idea of having whatever I want is really overwhelming right now.

I fucked up and drank wine last night and tonight but I'm at least going to finish out the 30 days food wise. July 4 is my day 30 so I'm almost there.
I'm really pretty pissed at myself. But on the positive side, I'm a cheap date now.

I'm on day 11 here and cruising along okay, getting a little bored of the same old food, but not having any major cravings. Yesterday was a good test, we were painting all day at our new house and got home much later than we would have liked. It would have been so easy to just stop and get some food somewhere on the way home. But I decided to keep it up and grabbed some hamburger to make burgers and a frozen veggie, so I feel glad I did that.

I'm on day what? 13 I think?
breakfast: coffee lunch: roasted asparagus wrapped in lox dinner: garlicy shrimp with asian-ish spinach and mushrooms over cauliflower rice
Truth: We're going to a hard cider making place on fourth of July and I'm planning to have a couple, so my whole 30 is a cheater whole 30. I'm okay with it, tbh.
I have to say now that I'm about 2 weeks in, I really feel awesome and I'm pretty sure it's not just in my head. I haven't needed afternoon coffee in more than a week and a couple times this week I just forgot to have coffee in the morning. This is unthinkable to me. Usually missing a cup would result in remembering a couple hours later because I had a splitting headache and felt like death. Food wise the only things I really miss are butter and bread. It's really hard to eat out when you don't eat bread. After the challenge though I feel like I'll probably try to stick to whole30-ish recipes for eating at home and then just eat whatever I feel like when we go out.

I"m going to need to find some quick options though when I start work again in a couple weeks. I like to keep a few frozen meals (...I know, don't judge me) just as backup for if I get in a pinch and don't have time to make an elaborate meal. Does anyone know of w30 compliant frozen meals?

Turns out this is going to be a Whole29, because I just realized the wedding I have to go to is on the 30th day, and there's no way I'm not having cake and alcohol.

Day 29. I just want cheese.
I'm down about 10 pounds since I started, 42 pounds since January. I had gained a little before I started this w30 so I think it's been great for getting me back on track as I still have a way to go with weight loss.
ETA I think I am going to start another w30 on July 17. In pissed at myself because I've had alcohol the past few nights.

Day 18! I think. I'm not minding the food, but it's definitely more work than I normally want to put into food for the week, however it keeps us on track so it's a conundrum. I'm growing a SCOBY and it's looking really good. I'm super excited to make our own komboucha! Especially since sparkling water gets reeeeeally old really fast.

I had a spot on Day 21 experience yesterday. I hated all the things, was mad at all the things and wanted to eat all the things. I didn't, but I sure wanted to. I'm so over meal planning. We were out running errands and it SUCKS not being able to just grab something quick. I know this isn't forever but it feels like forever especially since I really really don't want to be eating fast food, given the ingredient list. We even brought our own salad dressing out, in hopes we'd find a good salad somewhere. Most salads have cheese, croutons and/or unacceptable meat on them and it's just FRUSTRATING. It does help me appreciate the fact that there are just things I really shouldn't be eating though. But in a pinch, I would have just liked to have some GD chicken nuggets.

Hi all. I started whole30 yesterday. I am hopeful to break my addiction to sugar. A few friends have told me that after two weeks they no longer crave sweets. Fingers crossed. Also, I assume a headache in the first few days is normal?

Day 22, I think. I have many temptations coming up in the next few days (some with social obligations where I don't feel like explaining myself) so I am feeling a lot of urge to quit. Anybody want to talk me out of it?

Whole 30 typically reduces carbohydrates even though you still get them in fruits and vegetables.
