guster do they have to be read in order? A friend had a handful of duplicates and dropped them off but they are just random ones. He does have the first one. The A-to-Z’s can completely be out of order. You miss little things like how Josh got his dog or why they know someone one from a cowboy ranch, but it all comes together pretty quickly. I do think the treehouse needs to be read in somewhat of an order because they establish the mystery of who is M early on. I don’t think you find out until book 4 or 5, maybe.

Anyone have an interactive globe they recommend? I was looking at the leap frog one but don’t love that it has games because he will get frustrated and stop using it. There are so many out there to choose from though.

There are so many out there to choose from though. honestly we have an old fashioned regular globe and then a large map of the US (we put pins in it for places MH works so the boys can "see" where he is"), and S loves to point to things on the globe or map and ask me about it. Esp. the map. Hours of finding a city or state and then researching it. I know you asked about interactive but I thought I'd share.

We have a very large laminated National Geographic map that the kids love. They watch shows like Justin Time that go all over the place and then we point it out and chat about the place, the landforms (grade 2 science talk) the culture, the people everything, it's great.

So I think I'm just going to have Cadence and two of her little friends go to this salon called "little princess salon". They'll do Mani/pedis and face masks. Then I'll opt in for the extra rainbow hair clips and makeup. Cadence seemed like she liked the idea. Let's see if she can just pick 2 friends. 😬

I have no idea what to do for T. All he wants is for Dave and Busters to reopen and they just officially let go of all their employees so it’s not looking good. We own all the things so I don’t even know what to buy him. We were supposed to be in Disney for his birthday, luckily he never knew that.

It was my favorite of all her parties.

I haven't given it much thought but maybe an outdoor playdate or something for both kids. We bought an outdoor heater. I hope the weather cooperates.
J wants a RV lego set, which Costco mercifully has, so I need to get that ordered ASAP.

When M’s bestie (who is virtual schooling) called him yesterday, he says “Hey J, are you coming to my birthday party on Nov. 15??” Me: We haven’t discussed or talked about a party at all.

Now that we’re getting closer, I’ve narrowed it all down. (I think) We decided to pass on the kindle because Josie’s on the screen so much for school. Instead we’re getting her either roller skates or wheelies to play with in the basement while it’s empty for the winter (I have both in my Amazon cart and I don’t know which ones are best), a new book series (Ada Lovelace for anyone who is an Emily’s Wonderlab fan— she’s the author), and some craft kits that I have yet to decide on. She wants a llama themed birthday so we will do a piñata in the yard, we’re going to buy a helium tank and fill a room with balloons, and I’m going to try to make a checkerboard cake. She loves a cheese plate so I might do a big board for dinner or maybe just steak and salad. It’ll still just be the four of us.

He says the roller blades are way easier and never uses the skates, just FYI in case that's helpful!

Maybe I should go back to those. Thanks!!

I'm unsure if she'd do better on rollerblades or if it's her age (4.5) or the fact that she is much much more cautious than C. She enjoys them though!

Is there a better balance with the in-line skates? I was thinking the wheelies would be the best shot because then if she wanted to wear them out, she could. Obviously, not to school. I actually don’t think they are allowed there.

M also tells me that blading is easier than roller skating.
