Morning everyone!
Today was B's second not so great drop off at DC but he did walk in (while crying) so I guess that's a win.
I'm pretty sure he was crying b/c the other day he got in trouble during water play and today is waterplay day again so he was nervous about it lol. He just kept telling me "I'm a good listener!!!"
How are you all today?

Morning! I hope B has a great day today jewels! My 3rd day in the office this week and I'm totally over it. Yesterday I seriously questioned my career choice with our damn sales people and customer service questions. At least at home, I don't have to see people, here I can't get away from it.

I'm at the office. One of my coworkers called saying she has a cold. Firm policy is that you have to get tested and have negative results before coming in if you're feeling sick. One of my attorneys showed up Monday with a sore throat and we sent his ass home and made him get tested.
I get that it's a pain in the ass, but come on y'all.

Happy Birthday to you both, slenle and wedding! Hope it’s a good day. Hoping it’s a better day for B, jewels. Groundhog Day over here— Josie has tap, we’ll do some more yard work, and swim if the sun comes out.

Morning! We had a big return to work meeting yesterday with our assistant deputy minister and it was...not great. I understand from a business perspective the why of going back but IMO that shit has to be second to the health of others. Gathering an entire building of 13 floors with aprox 45-50 people per floor is just an outbreak waiting to happen. A couple things that stood out was that they are not making masks mandatory in shared spaces, elevators, kitchens, stairwells etc AND they aren't adopting any sort of mandate that someone has to disclose a COVID19 test result. I get it, I am not stupid and understand that there are privacy laws BUT again, if you are going gather everyone together in one ginormous petri dish then you better have some sort of plan for contact tracing etc. People need to understand that this isnt forever, in a couple years we'll look back and be like 'wow what a crazy ass time' but for now, lets make the right decisons people.
Anyway, my immediate managers/directors are super supportive of us staying home and will be very liberal with reasons to WFH therefore we will be quiet and fly under the radar and stay home.

vino don't you also work in the healthcare industry? Seems like you all would be more aggressive with PPE than most. Even my office, if I walk in common areas, hallway, bathroom, kitchen, I have to put my mask on. I have to have it on to walk into the building. I take it off when sitting at my desk, because I'm the only one in here. I hope they get smart about this process and keep everyone safe.

We had BBQ and macaroni and cheese for dinner last night, Mallory's favorite. But then she wouldn't touch cake. But then demanded a cheese stick. She loved her present, a little picnic basket. Her party is in a few weeks and she's getting a play house. I cry a little everytime I look at her. My very last baby is 1! I'm still happy and know 3 is the right number for us. But I just wish I could slow time down.

I work within the Energy ministry for my province managing land tenure and royalties, so a higher profile ministry than some others so they want to see people in offices. We were told 'its part of our economic relaunch strategy, therefore the default will be to be in the office'. I wish i counted how many times he said that...

vino I get having people back in the office, but I do not get the mask/revealing results thing. Our office is not fully open yet, but there are about 10 people there daily (used to be about 100) , and we have strict rules, masks in all common areas, including hallways, bathrooms, breakrooms, etc. When it's time to go back, I will feel safe and comfortable (it helps that I have a private office so I can de-mask when I am at my desk).

Wtf. tgrimes Stay home people! I hate that we feel like our jobs are more important than our health and the health of others. vino wtf to that meeting. Couldn’t that be a zoom? Sorry they aren’t making working at the office safer, but I’m glad your team has the right support for WFH. jewels Poor guy. I hope he has a good day!

vino, that's ridiculous! No masks in shared spaces? Definitely a disaster waiting to happen! I don't get how people think things like this are a good idea.

Morning from Maine!
We made it up without issue on Tuesday and spent yesterday by the lake. It was a bit overcast but not complaining. The kids fished and my dad did a fire in the fire pit for them.
Today is really pretty and B has already been out fishing and throwing the ball for the neighbor’s 2 golden doodles. Currently the kids are playing Guess Who with my mom and I’m eating a cookie.

vino that's frustrating. Honestly I don't even get the people in offices thing for office jobs. Adapt, grow, it's the 21st century. We may not have flying cars, but the magic of computers and the internet should allow for a lot of flexibility for office jobs. Especially when health matters are at risk. That sounds like an outbreak waiting to happen. My other job is definitely a petri dish situation and it's with healthcare people. When I showed up last month there were about 60 people congregated in a big room with no masks. I just shake my head at it. Luckily my boss told everyone they must wear masks. tgrimes that doesn't surprise me at all and that's another reason I think people who can work from home should for the time being. People just aren't responsible enough.
