I am also still masking even though I’ve had it twice and gotten vaccinated. I figure if I’ve already had it twice, I’m probably extra susceptible. And like, the mask doesn’t hurt me in any way. And I already have to wear it at work (hospital.) So like, meh. But like charlotte, I also live in a state that is very NoCurr on covid, anti vax only for covid Bc ‘Merica, and is now completely open as if nothing ever happened. One thing for me, is that America hasn’t been (wasnt’t) testing variants. So who knows if delta didn’t originate here? Or if we are at least exposed to it. And the other thing is that so far kids have been managing covid fairly well in general and I’m hopeful that continues to be true even with yet another variant.

Masks are still mandatory in my province. The kids will wear masks until they can be vaccinated, which I hope is sooner than we think. I will also be bribing my kids with doughnuts or ice cream to get their shots. N jumps with joy at the prospect of getting it but I'm sure her tune will change when we actually get there. L is nervous and I had to restrain him for his flu shot last fall. I do not want to go through that again. He also needs another vaccine as per the regular schedule so he's not happy about his vaccine future right now.
MH and I should be eligible for our second doses soon.

We're still mandatory masks here too (until at least August, as per the roadmap). I did have F go maskless when we ran to the store last night, but that was an emergency and all of the masks were in the van which MH had at work. I feel like people were giving me looks for having him unmasked lol, but he was restrained in the stroller so

My kids are excited to get it. Well, not T, but she is three. H wants to get it asap. It's weird.

I occasionally still wear mine in indoor settings. It depends on my mood, really. I was open to keep wearing them all the time as long as my kids needed to but they both understand that we grown-ups are vaccinated so we don't need the masks and are totally fine wearing theirs when we don't wear ours. MH still wears one at work. We don't mask outdoors, even for the kids. In a crowded setting we would but we haven't experienced a crowded outdoor setting yet. Both kids are not looking forward to their actual shots but will do it because they are tired of wearing the masks. So that's what I'm rolling with to motivate them when the time comes.
I did have J duck into a hotel to use the restroom last weekend and I didn't have a mask for him, he was super anxious the entire time he was inside (we ran into zero people, I was like "just don't breathe too deeply") so he gets the importance.
We also have an extremely high vax rate in my zip code so that makes a difference in my comfort levels as well.

For all of my comfort on going maskless, I still require them at the Cannery. We have one more person who has yet to get their second shot (a week from today) and I said that I would wait until everyone is fully vaccinated. Oddly, we've decided to stop requiring them in the retail shop for vaccinated people because we're going to start having sampling and 100% of the people who work in the retail shop are vaccinated.
I really want to have a food party with my staff once we are all vaccinated. I can't decide between spending $$$ on amazing food or doing something super low key so that we can all get used to each other's faces. 2/3 of my staff was hired during the pandemic, so we really aren't accustomed to each other's faces.

Per mapleme comment about not knowing what people’s faces really look like with masks on.. Maybe at my next appointment I’ll find out if hot doc is actually hot or just has nice eyes. I could be in for a rude awakening!🤣🤣

Well C still has a fever, but no other symptoms. MH took her for a covid test this morning so we'll see, but I really don't see how she could have picked it up.

Also, my husband loves Celine Dion and we had tickets to see her in April 2020. It was cancelled and then recently rescheduled for mid August this year. Our only babysitters are my parents (who live 12 hours away) and they can't come at that time because my grandma, who passed away from covid in December, is having her memorial that week. I'm encouraging my husband to go to the concert alone because he's always wanted to see her, but he thinks we should try to get a refund. It sucks all around.

Oh no mintyblueair that really sucks. Any chance you guys could find & start using a local sitter? Maybe get a recommendation from a neighbor?

My husband's colleague would possibly be able to, it's just that I'd worry that C won't want to be left with or put to bed by a stranger. I'm thinking of inviting him and his wife over for dinner a couple of times and if she seems ok with them we could maybe try that. The big kids would love having them babysit but it would really bother me if I thought C was upset.

Ugh, why is it so easy to feel crappy about one's self? I was getting good about weight and toning, and now all I can think about is how terrible my boobs look.

They are sad, deflated balloon pancakes. I spend not a small amount of time staring at them and remembering how perky and perfect they once were. A spray tan lady once told me that, that they were "perfect". And here I am mourning their loss, like 10 years later. Let's start saving for boob jobs....

A couple of weeks ago I found an old pic where I was wearing a low-cut dress. I did not recognize my boobs AT ALL. They were great. RIP.

I totally looked up boob job prices and procedures. It seems there are a lot of potential side-effects and long term issues that come with implants, so that's annoying. Ugh. I just want to fill out a freaking A cup at this point.

I found a pic from my honeymoon and was like "look how good I looked!". My small, but full boobs were so nice at 22. I can't believe I was self-conscious about my body then. Le sigh.

I heard someone say that everything you hated about your body in your 20s and 30s you’ll be nostalgic for in your 40s. I totally understand now why my mom was always pushing me to “show off my figure” when I was 22. I definitely look at pictures from my 30s and don’t understand why I was so hard on myself. I’m trying to go easier on myself now, knowing that in my 50s I’ll be nostalgic for how I look right now, even if it’s not perfect.

I was feeling energized after meeting some new mom friends a few weeks ago and possibly doing a co-op together. They're anti-vaxxers. Back to square one...

I loved my pre-kids body. But yeah, my breasts are so much smaller are softer now. Like not even an A cup. And since C was born I have diastasis recti that isn't going away. I need to try harder to fix it because it's getting me down.

We went to a restaurant for the first time since February 2020 this morning! It was a crappy pancake chain but the kids loved it and the waitress complimented their behaviour so we all left feeling happy about it. It's so nice to start having some normalcy again.

I face a similar struggle trying to homeschool in the midwest. Homeschooling doesn't have to come with that knee-jerk anti-everything anyone in authority tries to tell you, but here we are.

TW: pregnancy and stuff
Why do I still struggle with other people being pregnant and having babies? Part of me is super thrilled for my friend who just announced her pregnancy. But I still had to lock myself in the office and cry for half an hour.
I have 2 beautiful babies. I wanted a third, but my injury made that impractical for us. My IF and loss journey has been “over” for years now. We aren’t TTC and never will again. Why does it still hurt so much?

My friend from college is having twin boys and I'm happy for her and envious all at the same time. Honestly, any time someone announces having a boy I get all the feels. And no more birthing babies for me. Adopting isn't off the table yet, but it doesn't seem likely, either. So yeah... I'll sit at the pouty table with you.
