Morning. DTS happened here today, so we’ll see how easy the kids adjust. We’ve been saving cardboard boxes from deliveries (and letting them sit for a few weeks) so the kids had fun building an animal hospital this morning. We’ve watched the pictures from last years trip to the USA, which was nice, we wish we could do it again this year. Cooperstown, Wolf’s Neck, coastal Maine and of course Boston have a special place in hearts, we hope we can save up for another trip in 5-6 years . We’ve also planned a completely hypothetical vacation for this summer, I mean you have to distract yourself, right?!

This right! It feels so long ago things where normal, but I also can’t imagine this lasting for another couple of months... I know, I was just saying to my friend the other day, how does this end? Will we just have a day we can wake up and go fully back to our old lives? The GAP is feeling optimistic I guess. They send me a coupon good in stores only from April 1-4. That is optimistic . I can imagine that even if we go back to normal again, it will not be as carefree as before untill there’s either a cure or a vaccine.

I’ve seen people say you can freeze milk kim22, but I haven’t tried it. Other than meat and actual frozen products, I don’t freeze much bc I never think it tastes the same/as good defrosted. I don’t want to intentionally freeze it, just wondering if the curtailing is normal after it froze itself. My city is up to 132 cases of Corona so I would like to not go out ever. Is it curdling or is it like crystals/flakes? My understanding is the later is normal and it is fine to drink. Just odd texture wise.

I was 12 and a bit when I got my first period. Eight feels so young! So young! I was 10 and felt like even that was on the younger side.

Holy shit I thought it was Monday. This life is so disorienting. It feels like the Twlight Zone.
I can no longer use being aware of time to help assess for psychosis.

Cass is mildly sick. She's not that bad but I have C19 anxiety about it so we're watching her closely.
I think we might finally be close to out of bread so today might be a good day to make more.
The girls watched The Sound of Music with me last night. Yes, I watched it 2 nights in a row. The songs make me happy and I wanted to share it with the girls. They loved it. During the formal intermission part Madison said "That better not be the end!" I let them know it's not but there's still a lot to go to see if they wanted to stop and watch the rest the next day but they wanted to power on. Cass said she was Gretl and Madison called being Leisl. Both fit their personalities.

Morning.
I ordered the kids Easter gift last night on Target. Unfortunately the extra 25% didn’t apply to anything in my order. I got M2 a singing Olaf because he loves Frozen and it was 25% off and M a new LEGO ice cream truck with a white base. Now I just need to get Easter candy for the baskets.
So do you all remember my Lowe’s vanity light vent. How about I just got the original shipment yesterday. I know it’s from the first order because the second order came three days prior and the box matched the first set of boxes. They refunded me already though, so I’m not sure what to do. I want to take the second item back because I paid $20 more for it, but then i will have gotten the second light free by accident. Idk... decisions, decisions.

Has anyone ever frozen milk before? My gallon of milk partially froze because it was stuffed in the back of a very packed fridge. Now that it is defrosted, it seems to be curtailing very quickly. I’m afraid to use it but also not wanting to waste it because of the shelter in place. The date is April 5. It might just be the ice. Shake it up good.

kim22 I saw something on FB about freezing milk...I think people worried about being stuck in their house and this was an idea. Anyway, I think the higher the fat content, the less likely it is to taste normal when it thaws. Skim milk is likely to taste the same. I kind of remember my mom freezing milk when i was younger and it being fine. I have no idea when my period started. How do you all remember that? And I'm in denial that it could happen here in just a few years. Not ready for that!

I remember reading Teen magazine and they had the ‘embarrassing stories’ section, and if memory serves 75% of them usually revolved around getting your period at an inopportune time.

Also, hello!
I’ve been on a cleaning spree this morning and my mom and I chatted for about 2 hours on the phone—I think she was cleaning, too.
DH just got home from a flight and he put in a to-go order for lunch, and there’s an hour wait —I’m glad they’re busy! Our contribution to supporting the local economy. Prob not so good for the waistline, tho!

I have no idea when my period started. How do you all remember that? And I'm in denial that it could happen here in just a few years. Not ready for that! I was in Düsseldorf in a Christmas market with my parents, sisters and family friends. They bought me hot cocoa & I couldn’t swim the rest of the vacation, you don’t forget that. My dad took me out to dinner just the two of us the next week. It was a way to incorporate my dad into this very woman thing. Both my sister sort of looked forward to their first period, because they knew my da would take them out to dinner too. I love my dad/parents for doing this and plan on continuing this tradition .

That is really sweet nam2013, good thinking to somehow involve your Father at a time you may feel disconnected.

Taking a break from vacuuming lampshades. Last weekend I was ironing placemats, this weekend it's the lamps. I might even take all the sofa/chair cushions off and do those next. Getting pretty wild in the Flamingo house...!

Holy shit I thought it was Monday. This life is so disorienting. It feels like the Twlight Zone. I can no longer use being aware of time to help assess for psychosis. If you have an Alexa, have her tell you the day in the morning 😂 I set all our routines up on her to shed tells me the weather in the morning. And when to start dinner. When the boys need to clean up for bed and when to send them to bed. Going to add more too.

Misty's wound looks great today! The vet told me to fill a diaper with sugar and then tie a cut tee shirt so it'll stay in place. Sounded strange but apparently it dries it out? Whatever, it worked! It shrunk by 25%! Mallory's first time on a pony 💜

Hey. I worked this morning and it was not the relaxing morning at work I was hoping for. There were 3 other people there the whole time and I was hoping for alone time. I will be so happy when these visitor restrictions are over. It’s in the mid 50s and sunny today which is so nice. peachsmama I’m sorry about your pony. I hope she has a good couple of years left. I got my period 9 days after my 13th birthday. I know that because it started on my walk home from school and it happened to be my little sister’s birthday. I got home to an empty house and had to deal with it myself, fun. I was so paranoid about it starting while I was wearing khaki pants, so I didn’t wear them for a LONG time.

peachsmama one of the vet shows I was watching put honey on some burn wounds. Apparently it was helping to heal it somehow. Crazy.

My first came when I was 15 and both of my parents were away for weeks dealing with the death of my half sister. So I was home with my two teenage brothers and I refused to tell them anything about it. I got through it with some pads I found in the back of the bathroom cabinet.

I knew I was off on that. It was pouring out of the gallon looking normal but within a few minutes in the cups, it was getting chunky. We dumped it.

I never agree with Trump but I’m wishing he locked down my city. My parents are not getting the stay at home order. My dad commented on how my mom has a Costco in their basement right now. Then they went to Costco. When I asked what they needed, my mom said “grandma said she wished she had a chocolate bar.” Really mom? That was worth a Costco trip when we are adding almost 50 new cases a day here?
