I found an UO; I hate layers and rather be cold than wear layers. A tank top, with a shirt over it annoys me so much! Even skirts/jeans with a top, all.the.tugging. For everything to stay in place. Give me all the 3/4 lenght sleeve dresses, one layer and no long sleeves thank you very much. Because I don’t like long sleeves either. Many winter days are spent with a shirt on and sweater over them. Today, it's a tank top with a cardigan. It's comfy and warm. do you not wear pants and a tshirt? Dresses are a rare occasion in my life. that means I might have to shave my legs or something stupid. No way that's happening during the week. Nope. I own one pair of jeans that i haven’t worn in over a year. I live in dresses, anything from a retro wiggle dress to a floral jersey dress, but most often a simple black dress. In the summer I’ll wear a 40den legging/or long undies under them and in the winter I put on 40-80 black stockings.

I have jeans I can't wear because I gained weight, but am keeping them, JIC. I own probably 15-20 pairs of jeans, depending on weight, bloating, how I feel, wash... If you always wear something under them, what is the difference between a tshirt and jeans? Just comfort?

I don’t wear anything under a dress, well outside leggings/stockings because bare legs would be a little too cold 😉. And yes I just feel most comfortable in dresses, jeans, pants, layers make me feel ‘restricted’ somehow, like I’m to aware of my clothes. This does not make sense, I’m fully aware of that .

I would rather wear dresses everyday too but the weather and my sahm “lifestyle” don’t really allow for it as much as it used to.

trtlcrzy I'm not huge on completely open-concept either. I like a kitchen and family room to be open to each other, but I like a separate entry hall and formal living and dining spaces. Our last floor plan was terrific, I just want it a little bigger this time. Southern Living has great house plans, if you want another place to look. lahdeedah B has 3 'requirements' for the next house: his own room, a pool, and stairs, lol. If we pull up to a friend's house that is a 2-story, he asks if they have stairs in a very awed tone. Now that the kids are a bit older, I'm kind of ambivalent, but I definitely prefer a ground-floor master. I really like the idea of bedrooms being separated from community areas. My SIL’s old house had a set up I really liked. You walked in and the formal living and dining rooms were to your left and right with a staircase straight ahead. There was a short hallways to the left of the stairs that had 2 doors in it, one was the powder room and the other was the master suite. Then straight ahead was the family room with the kitchen and breakfast nook off to the right. Upstairs there was another room that they used for a media room then there was a catwalk to the 3 upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Right now you can see 75% of my upstairs from the front door: living room, dining room, into the kitchen, and into the master bedroom. I want more privacy (and people not to see a mess in my kitchen immediately).

I don’t think master bedrooms on the first floor are a big thing around here. Unless of course it’s a one level house. My cousin in South Carolina has a set up that I like. Four bedrooms on the second floor, but there’s a little hallway off of the kitchen that leads to a bedroom with an en suite bath. So perfect for guests.

I took mh to urgent care. He was coughing so much he didn’t think he could drive. I got the kids chick fil-a and they’re eating in the car and watching Dora.

Hi hi. The 4 month sleep regression hit like a ton of bricks so it’s been a long week! L is determined to wake up as many times as possible before I finally cave and bring him into bed... at like 2:30. Haha I’m such a sucker. He was such a great sleeper, waking up once a night since he was like 6 days old, so this is a rude awakening. Oh no. Godspeed. Hopefully it's a short disruption and you're back to regular scheduled programming soon.

Our last couple of rentals had at least the master off of the main living space and I didn’t like it, especially when we had visitors- usually our parents. My friend’s house in AL was where I noticed that you couldn’t see inside any of her 4 bedrooms from the main living and kitchen space and kept that in mind. In this house they aren’t totally hidden, but much more so than our last houses.

guster I hope your H is feeling better soon. I like an open floor plan. Mainly so I can sit my lazy ass on the couch and still keep an eye on my little tornado. The playroom is directly across from the living room and I love it!

I love wearing dresses, they're so easy and you looked pulled together without putting a ton of thought into it. Every year I swear I'm going to buy more, but I end up with more shorts and white jeans. eta: I hope your H feels better soon!

I guess it's because I have fat thighs that end up with chafing when i wear a dress with nothing under, that makes me cringe at the thought of wearing them daily.
Add to it shaving regularly and it's a no from me. I shave my legs once a week.

I just busted my ass on the front steps when going out to put wood in the fire. I’m pretty sore now. I took some Motrin, and am dreading how it will feel in the morning. But for now, a heating pad is my friend.
I’m also binge watching Dead to me. I’m enjoying it. I tried Spinning out but couldn’t get into it. Also tried The Circle with the same results. I will need a new show tomorrow...
I need to get back to work...I’m becoming quite the worthless housewife 😂. MH is going to be home tomorrow after a week away and wonder what the hell I’ve done all week! Lol. I had big aspirations of organizing this week...whoops!

Being in a long distance relationship is hard, but not having to shave very often is a major plus.

I can't not shave. I have thick leg hair and it drives me batty. I shave every.single.day. Even when I was a million weeks pregnant. But it's such a routine for me it only takes a few minutes and I don't mind. I can't stand prickly leg hair.

Right now you can see 75% of my upstairs from the front door: living room, dining room, into the kitchen, and into the master bedroom. I want more privacy (and people not to see a mess in my kitchen immediately). That does sound like a good plan. I get what you mean about wanting more privacy. I think that has gotten so popular in new-builds--and I'm sure the builders love it, it's cheap and easy to not put up any walls! Our house now--typical ranch--is much more closed off. If it was mine I would definitely take down the wall b/n the kitchen and family room and put a peninsula/breakfast bar there. Down home we call the bedroom separation a "three-way split"...so the master is off on one side, kids bedrooms together in another area, and the guest room in a third wing. Our last plan was like that and it was great, so I am hopeful we can find that again. I could talk houses all day, lol. re: *too* open-concept homes, I read this blog post recently and really liked her ideas. Some nice fixes to close things back up.

Lately I’m into the colored ones - I feel they make me look more polished than regular jeans. I am hippy and have a large rear. I feel dresses usually make me look like I’m as big as my biggest part

I don’t shave in the winter unless there is a reason someone would see my legs. I shave every other day in the summer because I always wear shorts and we go swimming a lot. One nice thing about pregnancy though is that my leg hair grows way slower.

I also don’t wear dresses that much. My thighs rub and I don’t like the no pocket aspect. I do now have a couple with pockets but I still don’t wear them much.
