guster bathroom & kitchen. Oh and a diaper bin in DD’s room that now is hardly being used. I was so happy to get rid of those diaper genies as soon as the kids were a potty trained. we never used the diaper genies and had small trash cans with lids so it was easy to just keep them in the rooms I guess. The same little trash can is in the living room

Super random question, but what rooms do you all have garbage cans in? MH is a weirdo (I think) who would like one in every room, but I keep us limited to the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the office. He keeps trying to put one in our room but I don’t want it there because I feel like if you have something to throw out walk it to the bathroom or if it’s too big, walk it downstairs to either the outside garbage cans or the kitchen. All bathrooms, kitchen, kids' rooms, our room, living room, office. So I guess basically every room but the guest room and the playroom, lol. The trash can in our bathroom is small, which is probably why we have one in our room. I mostly use it for tissues and things like tags from clothes and it doesn't get emptied that often. B still has one in his room b/c he's still in diapers. We never removed S from diaper days, but he uses it esp when he has a cold or something. Also doesn't get emptied often. Living room honestly was a holdover from when the kids were babies and we had a little changing area there. I like having it there for tissues too. They're all tiny except the kitchen. I guess I'm a weirdo like your H He’ll be happy to be in good company, but I’m not giving in.

Oh yeah, we have one in the laundry "room" too, but it's in the garage so I forget about it.

So you would have preferred her to say "is this a REGIONAL thing".
I'm not going to tell anyone what to say. But if anyone else would have brought up the UO then it would be a regional thing, right? Or just stopping at 'oh i haven't ever seen that' then give an opinion about the UO. But to almost immediately ask if it is the entire country thing comes off as ignorant. And to be clear, I don't think that anyone was being malicious saying 'is this a Canada thing' but then for me to come and say that it is coming off as ignorant and it's being taken as rude is confusing to me. I live here, I am Canadian and I am telling you that I think a statement is ignorant but it's dismissed as rude is shocking and a little hurtful, honestly. Especially from people that 'know' me. I think it's shocking and hurtful to be called ignorant. It's just not a word that I use. I think we'll all just have to agree to disagree and move on.

vino , I just don't think I would call my friend, or something my friend said "ignorant" because it would make her feel stupid and I wouldn't want her to feel stupid. Thus, I would have just corrected the word she used that I felt wasn't being used appropriately. So when you said the phrasing was ignorant it was as if you were calling her stupid, which we all know she isn't and it came off as hurtful. So perhaps the word ignorant is meant something else in your area, but where I'm from it's another way to say someone or something is stupid. Ignorant doesn't mean stupid to me, at all, I would never call any of you stupid. Stupid means that you are intentionally insulting someone or something whereas ignorant means that someone isn't aware and there is a lack of knowledge. Huge difference.

I forgot to put our elf away with all the Christmas decor and now he's stashed in my underwear drawer b/c I am too lazy to go up in the attic. So every time I go to get underwear out I am weirded out/reminded all over again. Maybe tomorrow... My sister takes the elf ‘back to Norway, where he lives’ each year, she takes picture of him riding on the plane & in the snow in front of her house, the kids love this. Each year I Need to remind her during the summer to bring it back before Christmas 😜. That's adorable!!

Again, it's where I'm from, so it has a different connotation when I hear it than when you do.
So that is the disconnect between where we are both coming from. Now that we know and understand that, hopefully, you can see where we were coming from.

The backseat of my car is apparently Cadence's trash can. Does that count?

I was the first one to ask if it was a 'Canada thing.' I didn't mean to be insulting or sound ignorant, I was just asking because it isn't something that I have seen. And granted I only live in KS, but I have traveled to various parts of the country and still not noticed the signs. There are things that happen in just Kansas, just Texas, so yes, I get someone from out of the country asking if something us Kansans do is a 'US thing.'
So yeah, I agree we will all agree to disagree and move on because it's just how we each take and accept the comment.

Trash cans in the bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room and apparently my kid requires one. I think I'm the only one who puts shit in it though...when she pisses me off, I randomly throw stuff in it (like McDonald's toys) to get her to straighten up.

So I had B's conference last night. I am concerned that he is not up to where he should be. The teacher acknowledged that he was a bit behind but said most of the class was (she was out on Maternity leave till November and the sub was... not great). She believes he can catch up and suggested that I do flashcards with him. It's mostly the alphabet he is behind on. She thought it would be helpful for me to find something S could do with him (she taught S and knows his personality).
Anyway, I'm online looking at flashcards. Any that y'all liked? For reference, he'll be 3.5 in 2 weeks.

Garbage cans in bathrooms, kitchen and A's room.
Our house is 2,100 sq ft and it works for us. I'd love a bit bigger though to make kitchen and closets a bit bigger though.
My aunt and her H just built a 7,000 sq ft house. They have no kids and the house has SO many rooms, many I'm sure will never ever be used.

It's something that drives MH nuts about me, but if you get in my car, you have to move aside a week's worth of Dunkin Donuts wrappers/receipts, random papers I've picked up along the way, old toys from the kids, etc. MH brings every last scrap from his car into the house every time he enters it. Anyway, apparently S takes after MH b/c he will randomly get upset I don't have a garbage bag in the car, or if we buy something at Target for him, he'll empty it in the car and hand me the bag and say "here, so you can use this as a garbage bag."

Each week at school they work on a different letter. Hmmmm. I definitely feel like I worked with M more on this stuff than I ever have with H. I'll need to make more of an effort.

Now that Cadence is doing sight words I just made my own with the words her teacher said they would learn that year. Just bought the different colored index cards and made them from that, so that could be an option too.

No cool rooms like a movie theater. 6 bedrooms, including huge master, den, office, living room, dining room, ect. So many rooms.
