cagoldi I hope X gets the plan you're hoping for. Sounds very reasonable. *Hugs* regarding adjusting to separate households. A is a smart kiddo with a big heart. Eventually he'll adjust, but I'm glad he's able to talk to you openly about how he feels. That will help him process it.

He starts school on Tuesday. Is this still an option when our window of time is still so minimal.

Thanks for the support and letting me vent everyone, I appreciate it. The good thing is that school starts soon and it's amazing, none of these kids go to his school so he'll just have to see them maybe an hour before and a couple hours after school since he'll be full time this year.

MH and I joke that our future will be dropping him off at taekwondo studio to ensure that he's confident to handle these types of people in life and then taking to Julia to a yoga/meditation class to calm and redirect her inner fire, cause that girl is full of piss and vinegar ready to go at all times.

OMG H's trip to the ER is going to cost me a small fortune. Apparently my coverage for the ER changed this year, so in addition to my $300 copay, I also have to pay my deductible before insurance covers anything. FML.

Sending a 3 year old solo on a bus across town cagoldi? That's bonkers. I have a hard time believing it's even safe.

Hell no, vino. Colin had a bully in his class last year and I seriously wondered how a 5 year old could already be that intentionally mean. And he wasn't nearly as bad, plus the old kids tend to look out for the younger ones. I hope they force the parents to address this ASAP. I'd be horrified if my kid treated others that way.

Hey. This morning we found out that a girl from H’s class rides the same bus and her and lives around the corner. Her mom and I chatted a bit before S and I walked home. After that S and I went to the parent meeting at her preschool, then target, and the mall. S had fun playing in the play area, and kept jumping from one foam frog to the next. Of course the last one she jumped on before we left she missed and hurt her foot. I think she’s ok though. S is napping now and I’m 1/2 hour I have to walk down to the bus stop to get H. This evening is open house for S’s preschool, they have inflatables and stuff to make it super fun for the kids. Then after DH gets home we have to drive 1.5 hours south to do a 5k (walk) in remembrance of my friend’s brother who passed away after killing the triathalon last year. He had an undiagnosed heart condition, so sad. My right hip is killing me so I hope that starts feeling better or I’m going to be dead tomorrow.

vino I hope the school rectifies the situation, that is not ok.

cagoldi I hope you get everything you need for X in the IEP.

Girls!!!

IEP was great, perfect, even!

They are sending him to our school of residence where Atticus attends, and Poppy will too, eventually.

The goals they set seemed very appropriate, and they are not giving him a 1:1 aide but that is fine with me because his class is eight students, including him, with a teacher and four aides. So it essentially works out to having a 2:1 ratio and that is perfectly adequate IMO. They will also give him 20% general instruction/exposure to general education students.

The program is only 8-11:30 M-T, so he will still have to go to his regular DC on the afternoons and Fridays, but I think that will be a nice mix for him. He will go on a bus from preschool to DC, but it is literally right across the street since this is our home school. They have an aide walk him onto the bus, buckle him in, he’ll take about a 90 second ride to DC, then the office admin will come in and unbuckle him to take him off the bus.

Huge sigh of relief right now. This was such a long, involved process and I am so happy X is going to get what he needs. He starts Monday, and since that’s his birthday we can send him a treat and birthday crown to have a celebration at both schools. He’s going to think it’s the best.

Yes, SN classroom.

That’s awesome! Living where we do, in rural Missouri, we don’t have that option. It’s something we’ve discussed moving for so S had more access to better help.
