Morning! My parents took the kids to the zoo, so for the first time in 6 weeks we are kid free. Which is nice and weird at the same time. We went out for lunch and are now just watching tv.

I'm so glad it's Friday, I could cry.
One of my biggest priorities today is to write a job description for a buyer to hire. I'm being promoted to oversee the purchasing department here and finally get to hire someone to help me out. Yesterday confirmed the necessity of finding someone when I forwarded my boss an email that said 'I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS BULLSHIT.' I'm so professional.
I have a facial at 4 this afternoon, nothing else scheduled all weekend!

Morning! We have the post vacation blues. MH is at work, the kids are cranky, we have no food, ect.
BUT, it took almost 18mo but A took 10 steps this morning!!!

Enjoy your time with just your H nam2013. Is everyone adjusting back to their normal time? Not quite... the kids are still up really late and then needing to be woken up around 9. We need to get them back in their schedule asap. |

My children are bickering with each other. It’s not delightful. They need to get out of the house. We need to return library books, pick up some new ones then we’ll search Trader Joe’s for some new peanut/tree nut free snack food.

My children are bickering with each other. It’s not delightful. They need to get out of the house. We need to return library books, pick up some new ones then we’ll search Trader Joe’s for some new peanut/tree but free snack food. I love but free snacks lol Your day sounds like mine. And good morning from the office. My afternoon off yesterday definitely did the trick as far as refreshing me. I still walked into a shitshow that I had to clean-up after, but it didn't bother me. That may have more to do with having Monday and Tuesday off, haha. Daycare is closed to get the classes ready for move-up day on Tuesday, then Tuesday is Col's last day of the summer before heading to 1st grade. It sounds like DH is going to do something with him for the afternoon so I'll probably work from home a bit, but still... I'm looking forward to some space, knowing that everyone both internally and externally finally seems to realize that I'm the one keeping things running here. I've made my point so now it's time to take advantage of them knowing how much they need me. LOL.
DH has been getting up and getting the boys out of bed while I'm finishing up with my hair in the morning. He had been sleeping in and letting me wrangle them solo, then complaining that they weren't ready in time for him to get them out on time, so this has been a very welcome change. Come next week, I'll get Chase up and out the door and DH is in charge of having Colin ready by the time the bus arrives. It doesn't sound too bad to me!

Morning! B made a complete 180 and is back at day care today and I'm at work.
Today is S last day of camp but school doesnt start till 9/5 so we have to occupy him for almost 2 weeks. His day care would take him back but he's been complaining he really doesn't want to go. So I talked to MH last night and he doesn't have a lot going on - he's going to take him to visit his family for 3 days. We will probably do DC most of the rest of the days and maybe a play date or 2 with another family since MH will be home he can drop off and pick up then put him in front of a movie while he works.
I tried to get him to take B too so I could have the house to myself, but he said no (which I get - S is so much easier on his own!)
Anyway, rumor has it teacher assignments come out today or Monday so I'm anxiously waiting!

This year for the first time ever, our school made 3 k classes instead of 2 and there are only 17 kids in each. I’m so happy because DS1 had 29 in his K class. T got the teacher my other had for k. She is sweet but very stern which he needs.
We are at the beach and T seems good today. It’s a little cold though.

TGIF! It is move in day so everyone is supposed to work remote to alleviate parking... except I'm here bc I have to take kids in. I'd leave early but N moves up after naptime, so i don't want to cut her first 2 hours short with the new class. My SIL and fam arrive tonight for the weekend, so hopefully that will be fun. I'm super tired bc j is back to arriving in our bed and grinding his teeth, so need to put figure out how to stop both, good practice for a newborn I guess.

We're still waiting on teacher assignments. We'll find out next week. I don't know any of the teachers so it doesn't mean much to me yet, but the girls are anxious to know. Cass is very ready to go back to school and did well at K round-up last night.
I have to drive to OR solo tonight since MH has to work tomorrow and can't go. I'm dreading the drive because I'm already tired. I wish the train wasn't so damn expensive or I'd take that.

I'm mostly better. Swelling went down enough in my ear I can wear my hearing aid again and there's less fluid so I can finally hear from that ear again. But the swelling still hasn't gone down in my jaw. I can't eat on that side and it constantly feels like I just had dental work. So I'm not in pain, but it just feels awkward. Thanks for asking. |

I was playing Cranium with the girls the other day. When we do the charades part I just have them pick a character they want to act out since most of the people on the cards are ones they don't know. Madison said, "I'm on a stage with crazy hair and the audience is shouting 'send her back!'" I just looked at her for a minute and she says "Mom, don't you watch the news." I asked if she was Donald Trump. She was. The things kids pick up on. I told her that Trump said he was like Jesus and she gave the biggest side eye and agreed that someone so rude and hateful is nothing like Jesus. So a 7 yo is smarter than ~40% of the American population.
