I have a few random errands to run today—August is just slipping away from me.
Does Anyone watch In the Dark? I thought it was going to be cheesy (like any cw show) but it’s really well-written and funny.

Ooooh, exciting wineallthetime! What is vacation? Obviously not the location, but what kind of fun things? guster how is C today? He’s really impressing me. I haven’t heard a single complaint. Bath time was a longer but doable. The hardest part so far is that one of us has to follow him into the bathroom because if he tries to wash his hands, he’ll soak his cast. And he doesn’t usually announce if he’s going to the potty. We’re going away this weekend to my family’s lake house. Thankfully there’s no beach, just a dock so he won’t want to go in the water and there should be enough people to distract him. |

Just work for me. I'm going to leave a little early to go pick up a quarter side of beef from the butcher, then I think the in laws may come over and get their portion and have dinner. We haven't seen them in about a month.
I'm not sure when H is coming home. Probably tomorrow. We were invited to a football party, more because my oldest nephew will be home from him internship, then head back to college this week, so I'd really like to go see him, but I don't know if H will feel like it.

Tgif! we were all up early and out the door..only to forget our water play bags🤦 the teachers said they can figure it out thankfully. I have stopped for coffee and hoping for a productive day. Mh is meeting the mattress people to pick up our return, so that will be nice to have out of the extra room/hallway.

Getting the boys haircuts this morning and packing. Mom and I plan to leave around 3, MJ pending. She normally takes a good nap then so hopefully we can get past the city before rush hour.

I'm at urgent care getting a strep swab. Apparently lots of false negative rapid tests are coming back positive on the culture so he's just going to treat me in case and if it's viral it will run its course

I'm at work prepping for court next week. Super fun.
We have a babysitter tonight because we're going to a wine dinner at Flemings with my in laws! I can't wait for good food and 5 different wines. I feel bad because they're painting the trim/doors and my house smells horrible. I forewarned her and she said it was fine though.

Morning! Kids are gone which means I just slept until 9! So amazing. That was the first night in a while H hasn’t crawled in bed and kicked me all night. Except i have a new lovely pregnancy symptom of waking up choking on acid...I think? Ew. Which is awful and gross and left the worst taste and burning feeling in my throat. But once that cleared I slept great.
Now I’m going to have coffee in peace and then attempt to paint our bedroom.

wineallthetime - That sounds like an excellent vacation! We did a larger family trip a few years back shortly after Chase was born and it was so fun! We haven't been able to replicate it since though, which is too bad.

Woke up yesterday morning with a sore jaw. Woke up this morning and the jaw pain is gone, but I now have a split lip and a tiny chip in my lower front tooth. Wtf am I doing in my sleep? Cadence has come to my bed the last 2 nights. Last night she felt like she was burning up, but none of the thermometers said fever. I gave her Motrin any way and she seemed fine this morning. We had meet the teacher this morning and the little girl from Sunday's play date is in her class so she is excited. Unfortunately, melaniesue's M and her friend from dc are not in her class. Her teacher seems nice and she is doing free seating this year, which means the kids can sit anywhere. Should be interesting.  |

This morning I managed to convince myself it was SAT and go back to a deep sleep. Whoops. It looks like the TKD thing is not going to work out. It's really disappointing because that used to be my stress relief and now it's a point of stress. MH isn't sure if boss man will let our family go there for free. I said he sure as hell better because he's paying MH little of nothing and totally taking advantage of him (MH had to work last FRI when boss didn't show and we had paperwork scheduled to sign, boss texts THU to say MH has to cover SAT classes when we had our annual family 5k planned--he'll make less money than the cost of the 5k registration  ). MH is also instructing 3-4 days a week and who pays to have their parent/spouse teach them something? Now he's also on the hook for next SAT and will miss an annual festival we always go to in OR. MH needs to make a decision because this is killing time he could be doing schoolwork. Originally I thought this would be better for our marriage. I wasn't thrilled about MH taking a year off for school--he's already taken almost a decade off and could have his degree complete even with the kids home. He's not good at self-motivation and all it would do is piss me off to work two jobs and come home to a dirty house and him hardly completing any schoolwork when the girls are in school all day, because I know that's what the reality would be. This way he wouldn't need any additional schooling and would just start working, but if the boss is going to dick him around and cut into all our family time for basically no pay it's not worth it. |

I think the boss will continue to take advantage of MH. He flat out said he's uncomfortable with things like bargaining for salary and I told him I get it, because I am too, but that I think the boss is cheap so to not put himself in a position where he screws himself, he needs to speak up for himself. MH is 51 so it's not like he has a lot of time to cultivate a second career. The clock is ticking. |

It's something we'll consider. It sucks because we like a lot of the people there, the kids are very comfortable there and there's a play area for them when we're in adult class, the old schedule worked really well with ours, and it's only 7 minutes from our house. So it used to be ideal. We paid through NOV so we'll be there at least that long, but we might look into other options. Switching schools sometimes means you lose belt progress. |
