All bosses are will to let me mostly start at 0600 with the one offs (like I already do today with my current shifts) for any projects or what not. It’s going to save us so much money. Woohoo!! DH was telling his family this weekend about how daycare was charging us $250 a month for before/after school care so we'll save a bit by keeping Colin home this year and using the gym kids' care more regularly. I don't know what planet he lives on, but we were paying $750 where I'm at. |

Alright, how do you guys get rid of lip hair? I've always just used hair removal cream but lately it's just not cutting it. Wax? I have mine waxed every 6-8 weeks when I get my hair cut and colored. |

Also hi. Work was a shit show today. Morale has been lacking and we've lost 2 of our more senior developers in the last 2 1/2 months. So of course on a demo/review session today - with tons of internal users and reps from both our major partners - one of our main contacts threw a temper tantrum directed at a dev, calling their squad's work a failure and just being overly nasty. She was really shaken up and a bunch of other devs were all pissed off on her behalf. I had a talk with the relationship manager on the account and made it clear that such behavior is unacceptable and if he wants to yell at someone or otherwise lose his cool, he needs to save it for me or my manager and maintain his professionalism with our devs. The RM called him to deal with it. I could have done it myself but the RM gets paid a whole lot more than me to deal with that type of BS, so he can have it.
It's so frustrating to rebuild from the ground up and both see the amazing progress made but also see just how far you still have to go. It's worse because no one else has a grasp on the business to appreciate either end of that spectrum.

Daycare called me at 4. H had a low grade fever. When I got home it was 102.5. I checked his ears but I can’t see in his right one very well because there’s some wax in the way. He’s not really snotty either. Augh. There was croup in the baby class. He hasn’t coughed though. I hope it’s just a random virus! |

I finally got my raise information. I got 4%, which is slightly better than last year but not as much as I was hoping it would be. It probably made the gap a little wider from the new people but not a lot.

I’m sorry things are rough right now at work, joelies. I know I’m very far from the business world but I’ve never heard of a relationship manager. Is that like hr but on a more intimate level? Their job is to manage the relationship with the client, know their needs, their personalities, quirks, etc., and work as a go-between to get them what they need. Most RMs have multiple clients (think a dozen or two) but this RM is dedicated to this partner. I certainly wouldn't want his job - he's literally involved in everything this partner touches - but he does make $$. |

Such a long day. I’ll be so glad when daily swim is done this week. I need to sign them up to go once a week starting at the end of the month. They both have made so much progress from the last week that I want to keep it going.

I am so emotional and all over the place I'm sad that I won't get to meet up with anyone after dropoff but my feelings are different than SAHM so comiserating would be different because my days aren't any free than the day before. I just hope he eats enough and raises his hand instead of interrupting.

I think people assume that going to k isn't a big deal for parents that have had full time childcare since forever, but it really is different. I am not sure how to describe it, but suddenly it's not a choice, we won't get so much information, access to teachers is different, etc. As much as I hate commuting 45 min each way with both kids, I am going to miss that time with j so much 😭 |
