I'm always a smartass with these things. i want to be my normal smartass, but wonder how the teacher would take it. And is this one of those forms I'm going to see at the end of the school year and realize what an asshole I was? My child is good at: ignoring me so I have to repeat myself 5 times, pushing my buttons, spending money, stealing my phone My child doesn't like to: listen, wipe her own ass, eat her dinner in the normal alloted amount of time My child learns best by: I have no idea, that's why I'm sending her to school What are your hopes: she learns to wipe her own ass, no phone calls from the principal for bad language This cracks me up and I could say the same. |

I feel like the more I clean the more disgusting my house gets today. Clean laundry room floor? Great time for the dog to pee all over it! Clean the kitchen? Great time for C to leave the pantry open and A to dump cereal everywhere. Vacuum the couch? Go right ahead and dump a cup of milk all over it, L! Take the trash out? Of course the bag should break because I love having dirty garbage everywhere! Well shit. Please stop and have a shot of something; Jagermeister is my go to but anything will do at this point. |

I learned my lesson long ago...I wouldn't go through MH's contacts. He also works for a huge company, so I'd probably make an ass of myself contacting random people. I only knew one lady's name at his office and it was unique. I tried but I don’t know the code to his phone. I could have texted his assistant, I never met her but I know her name. I emailed and he called me from the office phone before he even saw the email. He can get texts on his computer so as long as he’s at his desk, I can text. |

Morning. Today is cleaning lady day! Yay!! FWP: she hasn’t been here is like 6 weeks and is having to drop back to once a month due to caring for a family member full time now. So sad. But happy to have her for that!
S has OT today, then open house tonight. Then tomorrow is infusion day and Thursday is first day of school. I’m trying to get a bunch of shit done around the house because next week I have carpal tunnel surgery in one hand, then 2 weeks later the other hand. So I will be slightly less useful for a bit.

He ALWAYS calls for me to tell me he is done so I can do it, but I’ve been asking him to do it first and I’ll do an “all clear” wipe after. I’m hoping he’ll stop calling for me before the end of the year. |

Whew, got the house semi clean. The kids cleaned the toy room while I put A down. Why can't I just live my dream life where I don't work but the kids all go to school/daycare/whatever 2-3 days a week.

tgrimes How long did it take to do the baseboards in your house? The next step for my house is paint the entire house, refinish the floors and replace all baseboards. I'm wondering if we committed to moving out for a month if it could get all done. Thoughts?

I got a text reminder about an open house for M2 tonight. It’s halfway into swim lesson so I’m not sure if I will make it. I plan to inquire with the teacher when I pick him up to see if I want to try to make it once MH gets to the lesson. It’s his first at this new DC, so I feel like I need to.

Lol, we painted our interior last spring and the next step was to paint the baseboards...year and half later, still not done. Not even started. I keep looking at them, thinking how much nicer they will look clean white, but then realize HOW MUCH there is to paint and talk myself out of starting.

tgrimes How long did it take to do the baseboards in your house? The next step for my house is paint the entire house, refinish the floors and replace all baseboards. I'm wondering if we committed to moving out for a month if it could get all done. Thoughts? There are only 2 guys at my house. They did all 3 bedrooms, the hall bathroom and the hall yesterday. On top of replacing the chair railing in the entry way (don't get me started on why we still have this) and sanding down some of the trim. They were there at 8 and left around 4. They also had to move everything themselves because I didn't know they were going to do that yesterday. When I was pregnant with M we got the foundation fixed, fixed the holes in the wood, refinished all of the wood flooring, took out all of the old tile and replaced it with new tile. That was less than 2 weeks. We only left the house during the 3 days it took for the foundation. What took the longest was redoing the kitchen and the hall bathroom. If you have people doing the work that know what they're doing and it's not their first rodeo, you can totally get all of that stuff done in under a month. |

tgrimes good to know, thanks! I'm getting a couple quotes right now to have the kitchen cabinets refaced within the next 6 months, but that's a 1-2 day job that we could totally live around. But i figure the other stuff would be quicker, easier and less stressful if we're not around. I'm going to try and plan it for when MH is away as well, somehow he seems to take on the stress of the jobs that he's not even doing and it's so annoying to me.

Don’t get me started on house stuff. I have so much to do, but keep getting called in to work! I have to pay for it somehow, so I keep agreeing to come in.
I have paint narrowed down, just need time to get samples and make final decisions. Depending on how much I’m working in a few months, I may hire help. After painting the guest bath I’ve decided trim needs to be done, too. 😩
I also need to get quotes for refinishing floors. Those are top priorities to be done by the end of the year. Next year I have kitchen countertops and replacing bedroom floors.

It will definitely go faster if you're not there. The guys at my house are being really good about trying to keep the dust to a minimum, so one side of the house at a time. It's more difficult & time consuming for them, but he didn't want the kids dealing with too much dust. Definitely do it while YH is away, too. Lol. |

lahdeedah There is ALWAYS something to do and money to throw at it. Are you replacing carpet in the bedrooms or doing hardwood? And the refinishing hardwood is not that long of a job, but they have to have time to cure and it's a good couple days if not longer. Even after a couple days we could walk and stuff but I didnt even want to use a stool in fear that it would make a permanent mark.

kim22 I can't remember but did you ever ask about abdominal migraines? I asked at her check up. Pediatrician said it probably was that but there wasn’t much that could be done. Today we saw a different doctor in the practice and she recommended taking her to a neurologist. Soonest I could get an appointment so far was October 7 and that is just to see the NP. |

Hi
I've been reading along at night after everyone's in bed but haven't been able to post much. We had all the family in last Thursday - today and it's been insane, but amazing to see the boys with all their cousins. I'm back at work today and I leave tomorrow afternoon for Boston.
B's birthday party on Saturday was a blast. Tons of kids and food and running around in the back yard.
Yesterday all the cousins went to the beach together and also had a blast.
Our house is a mess but I did a good job and just trying to enjoy the moments.

New mattress is here and it seems comfy! I made the bed with new sheets and our old duvet, which is pathetic..so researching what type I want to buy. Of course all the sales are over so will force myself to wait.. clearly super productive with work.
Also my dad's house may get an offer, which has been a possibility since they have been trying to sell for a while, but 😭 if they actually move. I'll be so sad to say goodbye when the time comes.
