Is there a 2 year old annual doctorβs visit? I didnβt get a reminder from DDβs pediatrician. We started annuals then so 2 and then not again until 3. We had a brief visit at 2.5 for flu shots because of how the school year fell. I'd call. I had to call for her 3 year appointment. Thank you!

OMG. My kid has been such a good sleeper for a while now after struggling for the first 15 months or so and he bumped his head last night and then woke up crying in the middle of the night so we brought him into our bed and now heβs screaming that he wants to sleep in our bed again. πππ

Thanks for the encouragement! He loves being nude, so he'll enjoy that part of PT. He loves his potty. He always tells us when he has to poop and has started going to the corner to do it. He will usually tell us when he pees/has peed and is ready to get out of the pee diaper. If it goes horribly, we'll probably wait a few months to try again. He transitions to the Twos classroom soon, and I don't want to throw too much at him at once. We pretty much let daycare do all the work with my DS1 (Aug 15). They start PT in twos room and then no pull ups in the 3s room. He pretty much didn't get it until just before 3 and still at almost 4 is not even close to night trained. He does much better at daycare than home.

sheilathetank, we keep a 360 cup in the crib and a Camelbak insulated water bottle (w/ a straw) for when we are out and about but otherwise use kid size stainless steel open cups - so basically everything you hate? I have mixed feelings about the Camelbak bottle and will probably go with a Kleen Kanteen kid's bottle next.

Hi everyone! I mostly post on N16, but occasionally post elsewhere. I have 2 boys August13 (didn't migrate over here) and N16 (who was actually born O16). My big boy is 2 weeks away from graduating Kindergarten, and my little is giving me grey hair (potty training and attitude). It definitely isn't summer here, and won't be until mid-July or so. It's decently warm, though most of you would probably consider it cold.

I don't remember these being around when DD was transitioning to sippy cups. The second pic of those kids playfully having a picnic of berries on a white shag rug is giving me heart palpitations. It would take my kid .3 seconds to get berry juice everywhere.

Hi all! I post mostly on O'15 but it's a private board so I'd love to join in here as well. My son is English-Portuguese bilingual and already at the point where he can have conversations with dad that I don't understand -- a super weird experience.
I see you're talking about cups which reminded me: I'm looking for a travel-friendly, preferably insulated kids' cup that I can clip to things (so, has some sort of handle/loop). Any suggestions? That Nalgene would be perfect if only it would keep things cold.

tgrimes, and danib, welcome! tgrimes, I like that nalgene bottle. Especially since the mouthpiece is plastic so DD can't chew through it. Gonna try it out and hope it doesn't leak.

piratecat, we have small stainless steel cups that I love and paid $$$$ for at a point when I had a freakout about plastics around 11 months. DD has put so much damn plastic in her mouth at this point that I waffle between shruggy guy and this face π¬ when I think too hard about it. Those kleen kanteen ones look great. Maybe I can get put it on her xmas list and have the ils buy her one. I've also heard of hydroflask which is similar and I think it would solve anarossi's requirements www.hydroflask.com/kids/color,mint,a,92,o,52?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwOu18rbk4gIVj42zCh2gUgCTEAQYAiABEgJQbvD_BwE For me it comes down to which one I can get with a dinosaur on it. ππ

I spent some time looking for sleep away immersion language summer camps for 8+ year olds and my kid is only 2. Maybe an au pair...? Anyway, I'm glad you're joining us!

I went with the Camelbak because I got it when J was still pretty young and I was worried about the hard plastic spout. I have had some mold issue with the Camelbak spout though (which is easily replaceable at least) so I may go with either KK or HF next.

I spent some time looking for sleep away immersion language summer camps for 8+ year olds and my kid is only 2. Maybe an au pair...? Anyway, I'm glad you're joining us! What's your language situation? Are both parents bilingual? or 1 and 1? H and I are both trained linguists (but you don't have to be, I swear!) so we fortunately had lots of literature available on the topic before DS was born. As for us, MH is Portuguese so it's his native language. I know tourist-level Portuguese, lol. Since DS is only getting Portuguese from one parent and English the rest of the time (radio, TV, all day at school, out in public, etc.), MH was diligent from day 1 about only speaking Portuguese to/with DS - to the extent that we wanted DS to think MH didn't KNOW English (because otherwise, what's DS's incentive to learn it? He had to believe that in order to talk to dad, he had to learn dad's words). He knows that's not the case now, esp because I speak to MH in English and he magically understands me Still, DS doesn't question our arrangement, and will switch languages instantly in order to talk to a particular parent. Our best tactic was when I'd pretend I needed DS to translate for us. "DS, can you ask Dad what he wants for breakfast?" or "DS, can you ask Dad if he took a shower today?" and so on. I'm obv not an expert but if I can help, LMK! It is harrrrrrd. It really is. But the payoff, as you know, is great and therefore worth the effort.
