I guess we are doing CIO tonight. J is inconsolable and not even a bottle would help. I went in and rocked her too and nothing. She must have known this was my last night alone 🙄

bassa, sarahh, dragonflyinn, Add J to the not-walking club! He is 16.5 months old. He cruises on everything and uses his walker everywhere. He likes to walk with holding a hand but has only taken a few independent steps.

thank you everyone for providing your input on blanket/lovey/stuffed animal in the crib - J doesn't have an interest for anything yet... but was curious what others were doing.

So E turned 17 months 2 days ago, and today she finally started walking for real! She was so proud too, she just started marching back and forth across the porch and then all over our living room non stop, then did some dancing. And then freaked out when it was time to stop and go upstairs for bedtime. 😂 I’m almost scared she’ll wake up and decide she’s not a walker anymore, but I know that’s crazy.

The baby has definitely given me a run for my money lately. I can’t turn my back to do anything without him getting into mischief. He discovered how to climb the dining room chairs and then climb and stand in the middle of the table. So now we have to pick the chairs up when we’re done eating every time.

So much climbing. J scaled the piano the other day. 🤦♀️

O likes to stand on things and say tada!!
She's started jumping off the Ottoman into the bean bag. 🤦🏼♀️
She's talking SO MUCH. "Mama. Tiss bah" (kiss belly). She also loooove sponge Bob square pants and Scooby-Doo with her big sister.
I can't believe she's 16mo old next Fri. Wah Wah Wah.

I can see it already, DD is going to give a run for our money. She knows "sit down" and when we tell her to sit down when she's standing on the couch, she'll sit on the arm rest and give me a heart attack.
She also has started flashing the world in public by lifting up her shirt, but she only does it when we're out of the house.
We're also trying to get in front of the hitting phase. I know it's not uncommon with the age, but she's been hitting at daycare and it's stressing me out.

He will just wander around with his shirt up as if to say “look at how awesome my belly is” all day long.

Did I share my "rockclimbing in the bathtub" story here? Seems you all would appreciate it.
While in the bath, V takes this Tupperware (we use it to pour water over her to rinse at the end of bath) and flips it upside down, uses it as a step and grabs the rail in the bathtub (there is a handicapped rail from previous owners). From there, she gets her feet up on the side of the tub and tries to get a foothold on the soap dish, eyes the hose for the shower sprayer, etc. She is just naturally looking for how to do that stuff too, like some of your LOs. Forget leaving her in a room with any couch, table, etc. She can hang on the bar at the park for a good bit too, which is so cute. I am constantly spotting her and have my arms around her but not touching her if that makes sense, ready to catch her in any/all of those situations.
How long before she is "safe" and we don't have to worry about her falling?

K is into sticking his hand down his pants and diaper basically all the time. Gets embarrassing in public or with family but whatever. You tell him to take his hand out and he just smiles. He will, but it goes back in a few minutes later. Plus playing with it during diaper changes and in the bath. Teenage years will be fun with this one....

At least most of the time it’s just in the bath tub but he has definitely put his hands in his pants a few times.

Hi friends! I can't believe June is already half over. Our weather has been so terrible and I'm ready for the rain to stop. DS is looking more and more like a toddler and less like a baby and it is making my baby fever real!!

I’m moving in 8 days! I’m so excited but also super nervous about the logistics of it all. I have one idea how things should go that day and I am sure it won’t actually end up that way.

Help. My J18 babe is obsessed with taking off her clothes and diaper. Would not be a big deal, but she does it immediately upon waking up then pees or poops in her crib 😖 none of my other kids have done this! Any ideas of how to prevent this other than duct taping her dang diaper on?

I’ve heard this trick or putting them in a onesie inside of a sleep sack.

The baby decided that 2am was party time last night. He was up giggling and babbling for a half hour. Not cool little man. The only perk was that he then slept until 6:30 this morning which is about an hour later than he has been getting up.

It’s finally warming up here consistently so it’s been nice to play outside. I noticed I need more summer clothes for DS2 since he’s a lot smaller then I thought he would be.
And we had a garage sale this weekend and it was feeling to get rid of baby gear.

Today is our first day of my summer break at home! Yay! I was also realizing this is my first summer since 2014 that I'm not pregnant or nursing and man, this is the good life. Everything seems so easy, in some ways. I think V is finally just on one nap so that helps too. Is anyone else sort of slow on the transition also? (I know developmentally it often occurs around 15-18 months anyway but I feel like we've just been waiting for it to go down to one!) Even little things like stopping at the store/running errands is way easier, of course. I'm looking forward to deep-cleaning the house, LOL. Big summer goals here.

I am impatiently waiting for DD to move from the Young Toddlers room to the Older Toddlers room. In terms of behavior, she does so much better with kids that are older and more mature than her. I've really noticed the change this last week after they promoted a couple of newly 1 year olds into her room.
