jewels Ugh I’m so sorry. Can I add that I would, very passive aggressive, organise a hoopla Father’s Day? And make him feel retrospectively guilty for 11 months 😈😡😈.

This is the exact opposite of what I would do...I would passively aggressively not do a single damn thing for him, just like he did you. I don't think men can feel guilt, let alone for 11 months.

Mh isn't getting shit. Well, really he is getting a free extended weekend because Cadence and I will be out of town. I'm sure he'll throw himself a father's day rager and then expect to do it again a couple weeks later for his birthday. Not happening.
He also asked me if I had cleaned the cat boxes yesterday and I said no, it's mother's day and I'm not doing anything. "Oh, it must be mother's day every day." Your ass better be joking!

I Was just trying to think how to reply to Nam, but this sums it up nicely. I think MH would not even pick up on the fact that I did something nice for him and he didn't do anything. It would not work out for me. I will probably still do something for him. Mostly because I want the kids to understand doing something nice for someone. But certainly not something super special. Just a card or something from the kids. Side note - last night S started crying and was upset that we didn't go out to dinner for Mother's Day and said he really wanted to. B is awful at restaurants and I had no desire to go at that point, so we ordered in from my favorite pizza place. I told S I thought it was super sweet he wanted to do something, so, MH leaves again and comes back Thursday. Thursday night I am going to p/u S at DC early and just the 2 of us are going to go out to dinner together. Hopefully he will carry these lessons on to his wife someday

Same. +1 I'd also make plans to go do something solo so he can manage the kids. Say you figured he'd want to spend time with them since he's been away so much.

He does spend time with the kids when he's home. My biggest issue is that he waits to be asked for stuff. Like, no initiative. But he'll always do whatever is asked of him. So if I arranged that for father's day, he'd probably be fine with it. Actually, I think he's away for father's day. So S will be bummed he doesn't get to do anything with/for daddy.

I’m sorry to those of you whose Mother’s Day sucked. Your husbands all need a dick punch.

Anyone else's kids choose Mother's Day weekend to amp up the attitude and make them think about running away from home? This accurately describes my weekend.

Happy Belated Mothers Day everyone!
You're an amazing group of ladies that I'm happy to call my village. For every meal that you make, shirt that you fold, puke that you clean, diaper that you change, for every late night grocery run, for giving up the most of yourself shape these little people; it is all appreciated, recognized and important. Thank you for being an inspiration, love you all.
