They have help- 3 full time nannies. However, they’re said to be pretty hands-on and Kate is rumored to breastfeed, so it’s likely she was getting up pretty regularly at first. Standard royal disclaimer that we don’t really know because they’re pretty private. I think you can be “hands on” while still having a night nurse. If I were in Meghan or kate’s shoes, I would 100% hire a night nurse and not feel bad about it! I remember when our kids were babies, I’d actually get so depressed and anxious when it started getting dark every night because I knew that while pretty much everyone else would get sleep, I wouldn’t (I had problems with insomnia on top of nursing babies). Sleep is so important to mental well being. I had the same type of anxiety. I remember my grandma telling me, “Just know it’s going to suck! Then you don’t have to wonder if it will.” Lol

I think it's silly to assume that W and K didn't have any kind of night nanny or help ever. Because really, if you approached any new parents and said "hi, you have practically unlimited money. Would you like to spend some to get better sleep?" 99.5% of them would say yes. The other 0.5% are crazy or have unicorn sleepers. But, it's also pretty obvious that W and K are hands on and raising their kids themselves. Kate took long maternity leaves and could very easily have bfed. So yeah, they've been up MOTN plenty. But less than I have, likely. This. I'm sure they have/had night help. But I don't think that necessarily means they've never been up in the MOTN with their kids. Every new parent (or not so new) loses sleep over their kid at some point, whether they have help or not. I think it was Chrissy Teigen (so not royal but celeb) who responded to someone who said something to her about having a night nurse and she said they still got up with the baby too but the nurse was to help and show/teach them what to do. This was with their first. Eta: Not one to take an attack lying down, Teigen also took to Twitter to defend her plans, saying, "A night nurse doesn't replace you waking and feeding at night. You're up with them. They're helpers and teachers."

My son (2) wasn’t gaining weight at the rate the doctor felt comfortable with, there’s no way I would have wanted a night nurse because I’m a type-a person who has to be in control. 6 months of on and off weight checks, Turns out this kid is like DH and is a string bean. Almost 2.5 and is edging into 2T pants but only because 18m is too short now.
Also, my neighbor’s son is only 3 months older than mine still isn’t sleeping thru the night! (She only has the one too) He wakes her up 2-3 times a night. Idk what a night nurse does but she would love anyone willing to intercept her toddler at 2am! Who knows if George or Charlotte are like this? Kate probably loves it TBH.

I was just coming her to guess names! I'm over all the delivery speculation.
Has nobody suggested Spencer? As a middle name at the very least?

My guess for a name is Arthur Aiden Phillip.
I'd really love for them to go with Leopold David Frederick, but I really don't see it happening.

I can’t see them doing Arthur after Pippa just named her baby that.
I think it’s going to be something no one saw coming. I would bet that Phillip or Charles makes it to a middle name.

I really need the main name to not be Edward since I’m about half a second pregnant and it’s the only boy name we could agree on before having DD

I agree with it probably not being Edward or Arthur. I'm going to guess some less commonly royal used names: Theodore (Teddy/Theo) or Oliver.

I wonder if Alexander but using Alex would be an option.
I really like Spencer but I don't know if they would use it. Time will tell.

Oh I’d love a baby Oliver or Teddy.
I bet it’ll be more traditional bc we want it to be not.

Name idea: David. I haven’t seen it mentioned but it is one of Harry’s middle names. It’s not the first name of any close family members that I can think of.

Are we really not going to shamelessly guess names before tomorrow? I'm starting it and will go against the grain of Alexander and James though I admit both are very possible. My out on a limb guess is Frederick Charles Philip Spencer. Oh I like Frederick as a guess. I’m going to add John and Leopold to the list

I think it will be Albert James Edward QEII's father was Albert Frederick Arthur George Will is William Arthur Philip Louis Harry is Henry Charles Albert David Alexander is one of George's middle names - George Alexander Louis Louis Arthur Charles Charles is Charles Philip Arthur George Andrew is Andrew Albert Christian Edward Edward is Edward Antony Richard Louis Edward's son is James Alexander Philip Theo Anne's son is Peter Mark Andrew This is still my guess. I was going to name my third kid George, but just knew they were going to “take” it first. And sure enough.

I’m not a Royal but living in Asia I do have full-time live-in help. Deciding how you engage your helper(s) is a Super personal decision and really runs the gamut on comfort level and priorities. For example, I get my kids up apack their lunches and put them on the bus every morning because it makes me feel normal and I want my kids to have me in this parts of their lives. Most other kids parents are still sleeping in. I like sleep too but this part of parenting is important to me, and if I had a newborn, I think I’d only use them as overnight help as an exception. There’s a big difference between how amazing it is to have occasional help and 100% all the time help, it can feel suffocating at times. So I imagine they feel similar and don’t always use the help even when it’s there.

If my twins were boys I really wanted them to be Freddy and Teddy.

I know it's one of Harry's middle names but I still don't see it being a choice as a first name. Edward VIII was called David by the family. And there are already a number of comparisons between Harry and Edward, using David would just fuel rumors. I can see it as a middle name, though I think it would be a longshot.
I don't see Pippa using Arthur as an issue for Harry's son. It might be a deterrent for William & Kate, but why would Harry care if his brother's sister-in-law used the same name for her kid? And it's not like Arthur is a unique name.

Everyone has different feels about "using other people's baby's names" but I would never give my sibling multiple nephews of the same name unless it was a super meaningful name to me.

Not required but since pretty much all people with kids have someone to help, the cultural expectations follow. Meaning that it’s expected that if there’s a work meeting at 7pm, you have a means of making it, regardless of it’s in the middle of dinner.

I don't see Spencer as a first name. Possibly a middle name. I think it's more an American thing to use family surnames as a first name than it is a UK thing.
