I really feel like people need to stop thinking about home birth from an American side. It’s very supported in many countries with midwives that have crash kits, plasma, coagulants, hospital transfer at the ready. It’s not some lady with a birch branch and a bunch of oils that shows up. I mean the maternal mortality rate in the US is consistently higher than many westernized countries where home births are supported But is the birch branch optional, though? I think it could have really helped with mine.

Later today, Prince William & Duchess Kate will officially launch The King’s Cup regatta at an event at Cutty Sark. They will meet with people from their chosen charities & participate in a simulated sailing race, before unveiling the trophy.

But it doesn't change the traumatic experience I had, and how that colors the way I look at it. Your post reads as pretty belittling. Maybe that's not how you meant it, but that's how it's coming off.

This is a photograph from a previous sailing event they did when Kate's team beat William's. It's one of my favorites of her, she's so cute.

Maybe that's not how you meant it, but that's how it's coming off. I think it can go both ways. Recognizing that in other countries midwives have a more expanded scope of practice than they do in the US while also recognizing that things can change on a dime and the ability to transfer to a hospital can be too little too late. It would have been for my son. Hell, we would have lost critical minutes of oxygenation if we were not already IN the OR when our emergency occurred.

I don't like the gloves. It's throwing the whole ensemble for me.

What is the Order of Merit? Like is there some connection that led to him attending this particular event when he’s retired or is it more random that he was there?

RRs were pretty surprised to see him. So I don’t think there is any connection. Guessing it might be because of Baby Sussex?

Charles and Camilla have not met the baby yet.
Visiting Berlin, the Prince of Wales has said he is looking forward to seeing his new grandson. “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return,” the proud grandfather said.

Take off those white buttons and I would totally wear Kate’s outfit. I love the pants length.

The Duke of Cambridge said he was “absolutely thrilled” about the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, adding he was “looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when things have quietened down”
