Work work work for me. But I’m off tomorrow. Cs school has a family breakfast and we have never been able to go to one so I’m excited I get to be there. After I’m shopping at Target alone for Easter stuff. In the afternoon I have a cut and color. So it should be a nice day alone, which is what I really need right now to recharge.

Also C had his first baseball practice and did so good. He was a great listener and did really well. I’m also glad practice is in a Thursday because it’s usually the day DH takes C to karate so now he will do this instead and I don’t have to stand around in the cold for the next few weeks.

cagoldi glad you got some answers today. I was once told not to be scared of an Autism diagnosis (not that you are...clearly you are handling this like the boss mom you are!) because it can open so many doors for access to resources.

After several hours at the hospital today we are going to be getting a communication device for S. It will look similar to like this:


It will have pre loaded pictures on it for basic needs and pre record words so when she pushes what she wants it will say it too. We will start simple and add to it as we go and she figures it out. It will be a bit before we get it because we need to establish a local outpatient OT to help Guide us through this. Plus lots of insurance crap to sort out.

I can only echo what everyone said cagoldi. Glad you got through all the meetings and testing and now you are prepared for whatever comes your way. I have no doubt X man will thrive with a kick ass mom like you.

I'm about to lose it on my mother. I've been telling them for actual YEARS that when we were in our house, they had to keep their dogs out of it and my property. Mostly because I fucking hate her dogs. She never trained them and they behave horribly. The "puppy" chews everything and has even come into my house before it was sealed and destroyed stuff. And when we were at their house, it wasn't like she chewed things I left out. She would dig through the boys toy bins and take stuff out to chew. And they are border collies and regularly "herd" my kids. Meaning they bite them. I have always contained my dogs properly because they will eat her chickens so it's only fair that she do the same. We've been here 2 weeks and her dogs live in my drive way. They pop their heads in the garage door the second it goes up in the morning and are still here when we go to sleep. They will not leave. Even when my mom comes here and then goes home, they do not follow her. And we knew all this was going to happen. So we agreed months ago that when our fence was put in (which was Friday) she would put collars on her dogs because the fence works both ways. But she needs to train them on it. Meaning walk them along it and do the back and forth with the beeping and light shock so they figure it out. She was off all weekend, Tuesday and today. Still not trained. She didn't even open the collars until last night and only because I bitched enough. I have zero faith she will actually do it and it's just going to fall on me if I ever want these stupid dogs to leave my house.

I’m failing at adulting. I went to the atm for the first time yesterday and it was out of order. My google home malfunctioned and I don’t know how to turn on Netflix without it and I got the cork stuck in my wine and I’m out of margarita mix and vodka so I’m drinking tequila in cranberry. DH just landed and has 22 minutes before his next flight takes off so he’s Amazing Racing it. He will probably come home to drunk me. My dad’s (ex girlfriend, mistress, former bestie wife or whatever she should be called) friend requested my sister today and it’s my mom’s birthday. She then deleted it but not before my sister got a screen shot.

Those tablets are so cool lfig. I’ve seen them a few times in action and it just opens up a whole new world for the operator. I hope you guys can get it soon. I actually didn’t realize she had problems communicating.

Not sure if he will go to the office or not. He had to turn in his phone the past 2 days so we have barely talked. I’m ok, just really regretting that I felt bad and invited them to Easter.

I’m excited for the possibilities! She has a lot of words...but mostly just labels things, like table, chair, door, ears, cat...ect. She can’t tell us what she wants, when she wants it. So it’s been a struggle.

We are headed back home. Stopped for gas right now. Still have about 45 min left to drive. So we are in the home stretch. Should make it home about 9:45. And I want to crash out in bed, but will probably be up late cleaning. My BIL arrives tomorrow for 2 weeks. The spare bedroom is a disaster. It’s the “catch all”. So I need to get it cleaned up because I work tomorrow and he will arrive mid day😬.

My sisters and I have decided she knows it’s my mom’s birthday and was probably stalking our Facebook pages to see if we all did something together and accidentally hit friend request. (Spoiler alert: we didn’t) It’s all just so awkward. My sister did send her a pm letting her know she saw the mistake and letting her know she may accidentally friend request her husband. We still don’t know for sure if he ever found out. My mom left him a voicemail but we have no way of knowing if he ever actually heard it.
