DD and I just landed in Chicago. She did so well on the flight, and we’re both happy to be here!
We have almost an hour until our town car will be here to get us, so I’m going to find us something to eat and walk around for a bit.

We came to a patio to watch college basketball. I see many beers and bar food in my immediate future.

MH had a conference here this past week, and since DD is on spring break we decided to fly out to meet him. I’m excited to explore around; I’ve never been outside of the airport. It’s sunny right now, but it’s supposed to rain tomorrow (though Seattle has now prepared me for this!). Luckily Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be clear and sunny.

Oh, and pobre, he was supposed to have a training by you and Dr. Cox next month. It was canceled for low registration, and I’m hoping it’s rebooked during the summer so DD and I can join him.

Our baby just took three steps before falling. I am so not ready. Omg, how? I feel like she’s a newborn still.

I'm fairly buzzed and watching Derry Girls. I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. ☹

I’m currently planning an international trip for me and DD1. She’s almost 7 and I think she will be so much fun to travel with. I have so many miles burning a hole in my pocket and I figure that after solo parenting for 10 months while pregnant and then with a newborn, DH shouldn’t get a say in how I use the damn miles 😂

We went to some mega mall today under the guise that there are rides for our kids. But I totally did it for the surplus of chain restaurants.

We had a nice day today. I lifted this morning, DS and I hit a couple parks, then the library, picked up new soccer shoes and shin guards, now pizza is ordered.

I’m taking the kids to Europe this summer so I’m curious where you think is most kid-friendly.

It’s been far too long since I’ve had Aussie cheese fries. I’m definitely getting some when we get back.

We got a ton of work done in the garden this afternoon. Greens, tomatoes, and peppers are planted, lots of different squash seeds are started, and the front flower beds are mostly cleared of leaves and planted. The kids both had a ball helping and generally playing in the dirt.

I might have a drink. My H has been working all day everyday and my toddler isn’t napping well. He did say he was going to the store to buy beer for mama and daddy so I might take him up on that.

Oh man, the summers here though! Too hot? It’d be worth it if I got to meet you two for a drink! Depends on when, but there’s still tons to do. I typically do all outdoor activities in the morning then again evening. In between I stay inside. And yes, worth it.

I watched two and a half episodes of GoT. Glorious.
They brought three trout home. I'm making MH clean them. I refuse to deal with guts.
Why didn't they just release them?!

Do bars deliver margaritas to hotels? They should. I would give a lot of monies to somebody who delivered me some margs.
A bar is the one thing my hotel is lacking. Poor planning on my part.

She really wants Paris, so I’ll probably indulge that for a couple of days and tack on maybe a few more days in London. I’m thinking she might be entertained by the Chunnel? My main criteria was that I not have to worry about a car seat, so cities with great public transportation or easily getting a car with a car seat. It’s not necessarily my top choice, but the fact that it’s her dream is basically my number one deciding factor lol.

The toddler was picking out all the red peppers when I said “I think red peppers are really tasty, maybe you should try them” and he said okay and actually ate them. What in the world??

My daughter's Odyssey of the Mind team WON! They are so pumped to be state champs and to be going to World Finals in MI in 6 weeks!!
We are brand new to OM this year and this seems like an amazing experience for her.
I'm only freaking out a little that she'll be traveling without family for the first time

I’m not sure where you’re staying but if you have some downtime during one of the nice days, the Maggie Daley Park is really incredible and free and shouldn’t be crowded if it’s a school day. Your DD is probably the perfect age too.
