I’m having wine. I made a delicious mushroom lasagna for dinner and am feeling pretty proud. So cheers.

My kid’s school gala/fundraiser is tonight. I’m halfway ready and about to crack a beer. Last year I got drunk and bought out the auction, so I feel like I may as well do the same tonight 🍻

DD’s birthday party was a success. I paid to have it somewhere other than my house and am so pleased with my choice. Blueberry lemonade and tequila in hand. But I really wish I had champagne and I’d totally be doing this. I never really feel like drinking but I do tonight!

We had a great day, weather is lovely. About to get these kiddos bathed and in bed, then open my new favorite wine. It’s a white Rioja, Its my first time buying it but it’s delicious.

We’re having a not so great day here. Why can’t the 8yo and 5yo get along, like ever. Why does the 5yo have so much attitude. Why does it have to be like this. He’s lost his bike for the day, screens for the weekend, and is currently in his room and guaranteed it’ll continue when he gets out. We have tried reward charts, discussing ideas with him, taking away his most favourite things, doesn’t matter. Every day is a fight. He can be so so sweet it hurts then a switch flips and he’s just... a jerk.
Also the baby slept 20 min, twice, all day and that’s it. H is at work.
Someone take me away from here please.

On the upside it’s my friends 40th bday party tonight and they’re doing champagne tasting.
Downside is I can’t drink that much because I’m solo again tomorrow and repeating today while hungover really will make me run away.

It is somewhat nice out so I have the girls outside. They are acting like it's summer and asking to eat dinner outside. Meanwhile I am still in my winter coat, hat, and gloves. Drinking a Leine's Snowdrift Porter and hoping they tire out soon.

I'm sorry for the rough day jorkzy. My 5 year old has been similar lately. She is so sweet most of the time, but then when she is in a bad mood, it is like... bad mood to the tenth power, similar to my 17 month old's tantrums. It's not great.

I have about 45 minutes left of work. Fortunately, today has been relatively easy, which is a pleasant surprise after lots of really busy/tough Saturdays. I am making BBQ pulled pork sliders on Hawaiian rolls, and pineapple slaw for dinner. Our sitter is so incredibly sweet, and got me Chrissy Teigen's newer cookbook for my bday last month, and I am really excited to try that recipe from it.
I got some of the lemon elderflower soda from TJ's so I may have a bit of that with some vodka. I almost always feel like wine, but after vacation last week, I have been feeling like cocktails.

I’m sorry jorkzy. DD is almost 5, and when she’s being difficult it’s so frustrating because it’s all the attitude of a teen and none of the reasoning capability.

I was reduced to frustrated tears at one point today because it’s the same thing every day, all the time, and I just cannot anymore. I want my sweet boy back. He knows what he’s doing is wrong. We’ve talked bout it a million times and he can tell me what’s expected of him. But I guess he doesn’t care? Or something? Like - is he not getting enough attention that he has to resort to negative attention? Am I failing him in some way? My DD was never like this. I’m at a loss.

It's been a fairly busy day here. We went to a karate tournament to support B's dojo and now he says he wants to compete as well. Oy vey.
Then we went to Six Flags to finally get our season passes taken care of. It was a little rainy, but it cleared up a bit so we could ride a few rides. B rode his first roller coaster (the mini mine train) and didn't hate it. I hope he loves roller coasters as much as me when he grows up!

Blue moon on deck. It was a productive day filled with kid free girl time (I am the sole female in my house) and it filled my soul in ways I didn’t even know I needed.

Guise, my kid ate a cupcake wrapper. He’s 5....YEARS old. Like, what the motherfuck? He claimed he didn’t know he wasn’t supposed to do that, like he’s from Mars and has never eaten an Earth cupcake or sumshit.

Do you think he’s having a tough time adjusting to the baby? Maybe? This started before baby was born though. He seems to love baby- always wants to hold him and kiss him. Makes him crafts and pictures. IDK. He’s always been more... spirited than his older sister. It just seems to be getting harder to handle with age, rather than better. Just feeling defeated at the moment. Thanks for listening.

I only mentioned it since I remember DD purposefully misbehaving (like knew it was wrong, knew she’d get in trouble and did it anyway) for the few months before and after DS arrived. She never directed any of that at the baby, she was always loving with him. It was just me and H that caught her drama. Anyway, I hope you have some fun tonight and tomorrow is better. Hugs
