Didn’t get much sleep, too much Googling and impatiently waiting for the office to open. Last time I checked I’m still spotting when I wipe but it’s back to brown. I also have a dull ache in my lower left side.

moonandback141 I hope you can get answers on the spotting. I tend to think it was the internal exam, but definitely a mindfuck and unsettling. doodlemommy That sucks that they don't do an ultrasound. Hoping your appointment goes well. It does kinda suck but seems to be standard for where I live. I had a dr with DD and a midwife with DS and none of them do ultrasounds in the office. All of our ultrasounds were done at separate imaging places.

Baby’s HB was 160 and she did another cervical exam and said everything looked well. I begged for an ultrasound but she said “no we aren’t going to chase this around or you would be having an ultrasound everyday.” I still have the dull ache in my left side and she said that could be from the spotting or from general growing pains. I am supposed to come back in two weeks for another HB check.
I’m just still pretty shaken up after I thought this thing was gone and now it’s giving me more trouble than before. Also read way too much on Google about how these can cause pre term labor and prom. Super.

I had an u/s this morning for them to measure the baby's neck size and everything was perfect. The baby looks like a baby now! Everything was so clear and I could see all its little parts. I was going to ask her if she could tell the sex yet, but MH wasn't with me and I don't want to find out without him, so it wil remain a mystery for now. I'm just SO RELIEVED that I'm staring down the end of 1st tri and everything is A-OK.

That's awesome stayingblondemoonandback141 I'm annoyed they wouldn't give you an ultrasound. Seems like a very legitimate request especially with the pain. I wouldn't normally advocate this, but if you spotted any more red, I would almost go to the emergency room bc I would think they would definitely do one there. But hopefully this is the last of spotting.

So many people finding out the sex early!!! Anyone waiting until 20 weeks??? I feel so behind! Lol Waiting until the baby is born, so you'll know before me!

I came out at work yesterday and everyone was driven insane when I said “it’s a surprise! Everyone will find out in October!” LOL my favorite response is when people ask what I'm having and I'm like "well, I'm hoping it's a baby" I say that or that I hope it's not a velociraptor.

moonandback141 - Glad everything looks well but that's annoying they wouldn't give you peace of mind with an ultrasound.

Oh good, so I’m not the only one haha! Yeah last time with DS we did the NT and the anatomy scan. DD we had to go back because she was uncooperative with the A/S. Oh, and at like 39 weeks because the dr thought she had flipped breech (she hadn’t). This time we will just have 2 again unless there is some kind of issue. A dating/NT ultrasound at 11-12 weeks and then the A/S. I’m personally of the mind that less ultrasounds is better so it works for me

I’m personally of the mind that less ultrasounds is better so it works for me I had two scans with DS1- the A/S and a growth scan (low lying placenta). I had the NT, A/S and monthly growth scans with DS2. I preferred the lesser scans. More scans lead to more chances to find problems and more worries. This is a UO on my BMB elsewhere. Everyone there wants all the scans, and I’m just like “you don’t even know the half of it..”

I am not the norm because mine were both IVF babies.
With DS, I had 4 ultrasounds with the RE from 5-8 weeks then was released to OB care. With them, I only got my 20 week AS. I did go to an ultrasound place and we did an early gender reveal around 15 weeks (even though we already knew).
With this one, I had 3 scans with the RE then was released. At the OB, they did a "dating" ultrasound at 13 weeks and then I get the 20 week AS. I'm not sure why we did the dating scan.. maybe because I'm 35 now? I'm also supposed to get an echo done because that is standard with IVF now.

I’ve had countless scans—bc my first was a 9 lb baby and I have hypothyroidism, my second was scanned every 4 weeks starting in second tri for growth checks.

I had several scans with my first 3, either due to not being able to find a heartbeat early on (the babies were okay, just hidden somewhere, I guess) and the fact that I tend to carry small. And that my babies like to turn breech in third trimester.
This one, I've only had one so far and it feels weird. I'm not disappointed but I usually get to see them a bit more than this.

First kid I had the initial ultrasound to check for viability at 8 weeks. NT scan x2 because they tried too early the first time. Anatomy scan. Ultrasound and NST because I was going past 41 weeks. Second so far has had the viability scan, a bonus one at 11 weeks when she couldn't get the heartbeat on the doppler, and the NT scan.

I am the weird one and maybe it’s a UO/FFFC but give me all the scans. PAIF brain is no joke and I love seeing baby as much as they will allow. It gives me anxiety the day of the appointment because of the “what if’s” but I love the reassurance. With my first I had quite a few scans in weeks 5-12 due to it being a FET. Then the AS scan and weekly starting at 32 weeks due to GD.
This time I have had a dating/placement ultrasound at 6.5 weeks followed by an US at 10 and 14 weeks due to SCH. Likely will have the AS scan again and then weekly scans after 30ish weeks if GD again.

I had like legit 15 scans with DS1 for a EIF and then low fluid and then only 3 for DD (9 week, NT, and 20w. I’d much rather only have the 3. With this one I’ve had 3 so far and will hopefully only have 4 after the 20 week.

moonandback141, I have hypothyroidism too, but wasn’t diagnosed until recently. I spend a lot of time in the middle of the night freaking out about times when my doc didn’t get back to me right away and I found out my numbers were too high for like two weeks before a new dosage. Did you go through this before? It’s a real additional mindfuck this time.

moonandback141, I have hypothyroidism too, but wasn’t diagnosed until recently. I spend a lot of time in the middle of the night freaking out about times when my doc didn’t get back to me right away and I found out my numbers were too high for like two weeks before a new dosage. Did you go through this before? It’s a real additional mindfuck this time. So mine got diagnosed the cycle after my miscarriage when we first started TTC. My OB wanted to test my thyroid and progesterone on the next cycle. So she did and low and behold, my progesterone was slightly low and my TSH was slightly high (high 3’s, which is technically normal for a non pregnant person but not the best for a person wanting to be pregnant. They called it subclinical hypo.) So the crazy thing was a few days later after these results I found out I was pregnant again! So I immediately was placed on progesterone supplements and levothyroxine. I was super nervous bc ideally they want these things to get under control prior to getting pregnant and I was having to correct them after the fact. But everything turned out a-okay and I’ve been on levothyroxine ever since, all through my second baby and now #3. I also took it while breastfeeding. My doc mentioned when we are done with having kids, she will probably take me off of it bc I’m just subclinical. I get my TSH tested every 4 weeks while pregnant. They want it to be under 2.5 in first tri and under 3 in second and third tri. Mine’s always been 1 something on 50mcg of levothyroxine. Hope that helps-let me know if you have any more questions!

roseinbloom I totally understand how you feel bc I was freaking out at the beginning too when I was in the 3’s and felt like oh no my baby is doing some serious developmental stuff right now and the TSH is not where it should be! But it did bounce quickly back into range once I started taking the levothyroxine. I would see if she’s testing for T4 as well as the presence of antibodies. My T4 was normal and I remember them saying they don’t worry so much when T4 is normal. I was also negative for the antibodies. They also really didn’t seem to make too big of a deal out of it for me either so try not to get freaked out by all the scary studies out there (I’m trying to do the same thing right now for studies about subchoronic hematomas and preterm labor.) Just because there’s a “risk” doesn’t mean it’s a huge one or that it’s going to happen. And I do take mine in the morning and then have to wait the dreaded hour before food. Hang in there.

I feel the same way, but this is my first time doing this so there’s so much unknown, seeing him makes me feel better. So far I’ve gotten a scan at every appt, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have the cardiologist at work sneak a peek with his ultrasound 🤭

It’s way different when you sit there scan after scan, watching percentiles drop 7-10% each time with no known reason. So, no, it’s not a good thing
