We told the girl we could make it. For some reason she was dead set on getting one on Etsy. Whatever.

Happy first birthday to Poppy cagoldi! I hope she has a delightful day! Thank you! It’s actually tomorrow, but my water broke a year ago today. Can’t believe this is my last day ever rocking and kissing my infant. 😭 Whoops! I guess I wrote the date down wrong.

Hmm have not considered nightgowns for N...it's still cold so we are still in fleece footie PJs. I was planning on sticking to tops/bottoms for summer, but maybe I'll scope out options. Yes, I should have clarified. We were only in nightgowns last late Spring and summer. Everybody’s still in long sleeves and pants over here for night time. But I guess in Arizona it’s summer all the time.

In California every few years to get your tags you have to get your car tested for emissions to make sure it’s not producing too much of smog We just call that emissions testing. Lol. Illinois used to require it...I'm sure they probably still do. But Missouri doesn't, so I haven't had to do that for 16 years! This was totally new to me in Connecticut. In New York you have to get your car inspected yearly to make sure everything is working on it. This was a five-minute emissions test in CT, and I don’t think I go back for either another three or five years.

Not a big fan of that balloon arrangement, personally. Same. I wonder if it’s the colors that are throwing me or just it in general.

Hello! I just got home and am eating a quick CFA salad before heading to get the kids. I went straight from drop-off to (where else) Dillards for a swim suit try on session. Lesson learned: should've gotten a spray tan, lol, or at least had a drink first. Ugh. I had my poor sister texting back and forth with me as I tried them on. I bought one that I love but it was pricey so I am kind of on the fence. I feel you on the price. I bought a suit from Dillard’s for Gulf Shores trip last summer, had buyers remorse, and returned it after the trip because I just couldn’t justify that price fore a swimsuit. I went back for it once they marked all the swim down in August or September and got it for less than half the price. I thought about that, but there were only a couple left so I’m afraid it will be gone if I wait. I hate how expensive swimsuits have gotten. trtlcrzy it’s this one; I prob wouldn’t have tried it based on these pics but the colors are gorgeous in person and it was really flattering on. Also somewhat disguises the fact that my boobs are basically nonexistent these days 😂

Dd is still in a sleep sack, but a nightgown would be so cute. FFTC? I love nightgowns on little boys too, so old school.

Not a big fan of that balloon arrangement, personally. I'm not either. I was outvoted 3-1 though. She wanted it because she thought it would be cute to take pics in front of it. I haven't been to many baby showers where the mom to be is taking individual pictures with every guest but whatever.

She just wears a longe sleeved onesie under it, like this one. I’d worry a nightgown would creep up and she would feel comfortable... ETA I realise this might be a Dutch thing to wear them this long, kids wear these until they are potty trained. So dd has like 15 different one & wears one every day.

nam2013 n wears onesies daily as undershirts. They only go up to 24m though and the neck is getting pretty low since she's torso tall, so we have reached the end of the line. I'm pumped for warm weather and less clothing to wash, especially socks!

I feared the day this would come....but S has finally figured out how to spit out her medicine. We had a good run...5 years isn't bad. The last few days have been rough. Trying to make her swallow. But this morning I found the trick. Chocolate syrup. She's always taken it with applesauce. but she just hit a wall. So this morning I tried putting it on a spoon and covering with chocolate syrup. It worked like a charm, she didn't spit it out and she swallowed it immediately, as opposed to holding it in her mouth for up to 30 minutes like before. Let's just hope this sticks for a while before I have to come up with a new idea.

Just catching up! No nightgowns here yet; I’ve seen some cute ones and I’m tempted for C but I think I’ll wait til she’s in a bed and keeping covers on. If you want to put expensive clothes on a registry, fine, but I would not pay $50 for that particular outfit tgrimes’ SIL wants. Sorry, for that money I can get something that is actually cute 😜 That is some drama re: the other hostess’ marriage. Maybe the shower is helping distract her? I might be in counseling for myself but if my H had been experimenting with men, we’re done—there’s not much point in marital counseling at that point, IMO. Standard hetero affair is bad enough but I could potentially see circumstances where I’d at least make an attempt to work thru it/forgive. Like tallb we also had a neighbor where the husband came out after 20+ years of marriage. Their boys were teens at the time and they were already prone to trouble-making before but after the parents broke up things *really* went south. The parents were in business together, had to sell their house, etc. Very sad situation.

I might try that, lfig. Glad it worked, thanks for the idea! Some parents must have been acting like fools at the elementary today because we all just got a message from the principal in ALL CAPS telling everyone not to pick-up or drop-off in the parking lot.

IDK I feel like there are a lot more of those stories than we ever hear about.
Not sure how true it is today, but didn’t the Kinsey reports say that it was give or take 50% of married men and women have affairs, and 34% of men have some kind of gay experience?
Will Google...

Men - 50% Women - 25%
Gay experience- 37% (obviously these can take place well before or well into a marriage, who knows)

tgrimes lfig and @anyone else who commented, I think I will try those spillproof ones recommended. I feel like there are many instances where an affair can be forgiven. Not sure if I could do it, but I can definitely understand it. I don't think I could get past sleeping with men, it's just a bigger thing IMO. Like there are probably bigger issues we can't get past.

Maybe I'm too close minded about it... hmmm. Something to think about. Well, it’s a high risk sexual behavior so yeah, that’s what I would find concerning. Gender of his chosen sex partner, in and of itself, just isn’t something that would register a concern for me. I don’t think it automatically makes you close-minded.

I def. think cheating happens quite a bit. But, in my marriage, no. He knows that if he wants to try something/someone out then we better be split up first otherwise I'll take his ass to the cleaners.
