This week started off decent. I thought we were getting past this lousy sleep phase and we had a few good days out of the house and I was feeling somewhat refreshed. But a few nights of crap sleep again and it's amazing how awful I feel. I think the worst part of it is that I feel like a total crap parent when I'm so tired 😞 I'm seriously doing the least. Since dealing with this Leap, clutter has started piling up all over the house again and it's making me feel stressed knowing that I'm going to have to deal with it all at some point. But I'm too DGAF to deal with it right now.

But I'm too DGAF to deal with it right now. when I'm super tired I feel like I'm not a great parent either. My patience level is so low and dd1 watches way more shows than I'd like. We are really working on trying to keep our house more picked up by I feel like having kids home all day, every day makes it really hard to not look like a toy store blew up in our house. Sometimes we go somewhere (most of the time Target 😊) just so dd1 can't create more messes for me to clean up.

Oh geez. I have the worst clog issue I've ever had. There's a lump the size of 1/4 - 1/3 of my breast. I can't get it to release 😧 I've tried massaging it while she nurses, and while pumping - both with a manual pump and electric. I've tried those Lasinoh breast relief pads heated and a warm wet diaper, both also while pumping. I don't own a vibrator, so I can't try that. It's too late at night and the shower would wake the kids and I'm home alone, so I can't try that right now. And I don't know how I can get her to nurse on that side with her chin towards it without assistance because it's on the upper, outer quarter of my breast. I'm afraid to keep pumping it cause I don't want to keep telling that breast to produce even more milk if it's blocked right now! Ah! I don't know what to do.

tbirdlove I always had clogs with M. Do you have an electric toothbrush? That’s what I used in the shower. Could you lay her down and nurse over her so she’s at the right angle?

akwild MH used to use an electric toothbrush but I don't know if we have it anymore! I can try to lay her down and nurse her from above, but not until morning. It would probably wake her more to try to do that motn. It really doesn't help that I've been getting a bad latch from her on the side that's clogged and she's been clamping down on there recently too so it's so sore when she latches 😞 She just woke and I tried to do a football hold to get a different angle, but it hurt pretty bad trying to get her to latch. Now I'm gonna have a clog AND a super-sore nipple.

tbirdloveThat's awful! I wish I had more things for you to try. The only other thing I've heard which is super weird, is to have your DH suck it out.... I think I read that Kristen Bell had Dax did it once when she had a bad clog. Gross but could work if your man is up for it. 😬

tbirdlove I've never had a clogged duct but my MIL said she used to fill a tub with as hot of water as she could stand, then basically lay over the tub with her boob in it and massage and have gravity try to help the get the clog out.

Thanks for the ideas pixiepink24 and brenna. Thankfully it's getting better today after some different nursing angles. Not completely gone, but much better. I've never had one like that - the backed up area was like the size of a roma tomato 😯

Ugggh. DD is so unpleasant to be around the past few days! She's been doing that throaty yell all throughout the day too whenever she gets upset - which is like every 15-20 minutes 😒

We started out Monday with two diaper blow outs 😣 DD woke up soaked from a pee blow out, then an hour later had a massive poop blow out (of course in her only white onesie). So much mess before 8am 😥

It has been beautiful weather here lately! It helps my mood and energy level so much. We still have a foot of snow, but have 60 degree weather in the forecast all week so hopefully all the snow will melt so we can go to parks.
We leave for Arizona next week and I am so excited for warm weather and getting to relax with DH and the girls. We're staying at my parents vacation home with them so it'll be nice to have extra hands/baby sitters. DD is starting to drink a little from a sippy cup so hopefully I'll be able to get away with DH for a few hours.

We've been feeling sick for about a week now. Hoping this is the tale end. Now we just have all the mucus leftover.
DS has started wanting to sleep on his belly. It is so weird because DD slept on her belly from day one and I didn't worry, but since he has never been a belly sleeper, it makes me more nervous. So I keep checking on him. He seems to be starting to regulate his eating, sleeping, pooping schedule a bit more, which is nice.
Also, I grabbed a box of hose Hello bello disposables to try at night. So far I am impressed. Anyone else try yet?

pixiepink24 I've only just recently seen ads for those diapers online. I peeked at the subscription prices and they seemed a little pricey. I haven't noticed them in store to really compare per-pack pricing. But I'll have to keep a look out!

DD woke up with her back drenched again this morning. She's in a size 3 diaper at 16 pounds so at the lower end for weight, but should I size up at night? Or will a size 4 be so big it'll make the problem worse?
ETA: I just looked. They do make size 3 night diapers so I might have to pick some up today.

I need to try harder to plan time for myself away from the kids. And I need to take the time away even if I don't feel like I need it. I get to the point where I desperately need to get away and then it's hard to find the time and everyone suffers cause I'm frustrated and short on patience.
I told MH that I want/need to go out alone when he gets home today, so we'll see if that happens. But I'll likely just spend the short time rushing trying to run a couple errands that are piling up.

brenna I can't remember, do they not make overnight diapers in size 3? I was looking once and didn't see any and wasn't sure if they even made them. If not, I would size up!

I haven't even looked for night diapers in her size. We have size 4s from dd1 so I might just try that and hope for the best. It can't be worse than it already is... ETA: they do make size 3 night diapers, but I might have to order them online. It looks like a lot of stores don't carry them in store.

They do make overnights in 3, although they may be harder to find in store. You could order store pickup from Target if they don't have them in store. I looked for size 2 overnights for DS and they do not exist, sadly.

I took yesterday off but still sent the kids to daycare/MIL's. Other than waiting too long to pump resulting is a seriously painful clog it was great. My first free day since President's Day in February and I was nice. I think I need to make it a once a month thing. I hope you get your evening tbirdlove. I find even if it's just running errands alone it's a nice break.

tbirdloveI didn't buy a subscription since I cloth during the day but just bought a pack of 92 for $23 at Walmart, which is basically the same as a pack of pampers swaddlers (maybe a dollar cheaper). And these are plant derived, chlorine free, hypoallergenic, fragrance free, and cute designs. So they are like Honest company but cheaper!!! Since I cloth, it's nice to do use a disposable that isn't too harsh on the environment.

tbirdlove I hope you got some time to yourself. I don’t think my H gets it when I desperately need some space. My friend posted a couple articles one about how difficult it is to be an introvert parent and one about being touched out. I wanted to be like this is ME! It’s hard at times because he is such an outgoing person and he’s to total opposite of me.

pixiepink24 ok, that pricing doesn't seem too bad! I just saw what seemed like big numbers for the subscriptions but didn't really work out the math.

I did get a little bit of time out by myself this evening. I managed a few exchanges that I've been dragging my feet on, plus I bought a couple first foods to prep for DD. I also picked up a sample of the Sleepy Lotion from Lush while I was out - it smells quite nice and I'm excited to treat myself and test it out when I go to bed 😊
