Holiday here so everyone is home and of course they all want me at the same time. I’m going to try out some gluten free recipes this afternoon and purge toys.

We had a winter storm come through early Friday (snow), another one Saturday night (ice) and snow is predicted tomorrow night. Over it.

Somehow it dropped from 80 to 45 here. I’ll take this over the damp foggy wetness we had at the higher temp.

The baby has been pulling hair at daycare, sometimes so hard he rips it out. I’m worried he will get kicked out but I don’t know what to do. He is still so so babyish I don’t think he understands it hurts and he can’t connect any sort of consequence to the action. He’s still not talking (just babbling) but I know he knows what “no” means. 😩

We are struggling with our transition to one nap. Some days she doesn't want to nap and some days she can't make it to 10 am without losing it. So, who knows.

It probably took DD2 a solid month and half to figure it out. Maybe 2 months. It was a long transition. Loooooong. Especially the days I thought we’d try two naps if she was a mess at 10 only to find out that was going to be her 1 nap for the day 😳 Not very helpful (hopeful?) at all - sorry 😬

DD2 kicked back in her booster seat sunday night causing the chair to tumble with her in it. She smacked her head on our hardwood floor, which ended up actually breaking one of the chair slats. She had an instant (and huge!) knot on the back of her head. Cue frantic me googling what to do and really wishing H was more decisive about these things (he doesn’t handle high pressure instant decisions well). We really did think about taking her to the ER for awhile but she never passed out or vomited. She acted tired but it was also her bedtime. She walked around fine when we finally calmed her down and so ultimately we decided against it.
To go to the ER or not is my least favorite parenting game.
She seemed fine today. Still a big knot but acted 100% normal. I think I woke every 90 minutes to check on her last night so I’m ready for some consecutive Zzzzzzzzzzz tonight.

danvers I hate that game. Especially with a little one. The doctors are usually so overly cautious and want to run a bunch of tests and the poor kid has no idea what’s going on.

danvers I hate that game too, with DD1 I took her to the ER when I clipped her finger instead of the nail. Ever since then I’ve swung the other way. It’s always such a struggle to make that call.

She woke up at 7:30 so I figured a one nap day, so I was trying to keep her up. 10:30 rolls around and its clear she wont make it so we took a 10:30-12:30 nap, 3:30-5 PM nap and in bed by 7:45. Ugh.

danvers Oh how scary about the high chair tumble! I would have been freaking out too. So glad to hear that she seems okay - aside from a big knot on her head. Parenting on days like that is extra hard. cythe I have a few friends whose kids did two naps for a really long time, and when they transitioned to 1 nap, it took a super super long time. E just might really enjoy day sleeping! CoachTsWife Those gifs cracked me up - I love the Groundhog Day one!!! Sometimes I feel that way about summer here...because it really does never end, and I miss the 4 seasons so much. But then when I think about shoveling snow and driving in it....I am content to settle with my eternal summers.

It’s my birthday today. It about as exciting as a mom of two can have on a Tuesday. It was a good day but also a normal Tuesday of work, swim lessons for DD1, etc. H doesn’t like cake so I bought myself a big ole slice of carrot cake from the bakery and need the girls to quickly fall asleep so I can dig while watching some TV.

I had a whole post I just lost!
My baby wouldn’t nurse tonight before bed. She’s never rejected. I can’t decide if I should just go with it or try again tomorrow night. I don’t mind this feed. I’d rather drop Morning or the afternoon one but it may not be up to me!
Anyone’s baby drop bedtime feed before others?

If shes sure about not wanting this feed, she'll let you know. I'd bet she will be back on board in a few.

Happy birthday danvers - enjoy that carrot cake! rebeccabunch I would keep offering too, unless you are wanting to wean - then this could be an opportunity to drop a feeding. LO went through a nursing strike around 1 yr, but then after 2 weeks he became very enthusiastic again. So - hard to tell! cythe My kids also try to drink the bath water, but I really need to be on them to NOT DO THAT! The tap water here is not safe to drink, and I don’t want them ending up with Hepatitis or something 😩

I know my LO and maybe CoachTsWife went on a nursing strike sometime after they both turned one. Mine nursed for a few seconds here and there on and off for a weekish but is back to a morning and night feed... with no signs of stopping now 😑I think we both decided molars we’re coming in and that might have been the cause? 🤷♀️

Hi strangers! It's been a WHILE, but can I jump back in? I've been crazy busy with work, two kids, life in general...But, I've been wanting to pop back in for a while.
DS is 16.5 months and the most fun ever. Watching him and DD (3 yo) is just so fun, albeit tiring at times. I hope everyone has been doing well!

He flat out refused to nurse at all for two weeks. I pumped in the meantime and just when I was about to give up, he latched and we've been nursing morning and evening ever since.

thatgirlrachel hey girl! 👋. How is everything (besides busy!)? The sibling relatiinship is one of my favorite things to watch. DD2 loves giving hugs to DD1, which aren’t always appreciated 😂

DD2 loves giving hugs to DD1, which aren’t always appreciated 😂 Everything is great! The kids keep me busy - as you know- but it's mostly a fun busy. DS already eats me out of house and home, so I'm preparing to take out a second mortgage in the near future. And, YES to the unwelcome hugs. Every night DD has to kiss little brother good night, which includes approximately 75 kisses, usually using DS's hair to snatch his head around for the perfect kiss. It's adorable but DS hates it! I hope everything is good your way!
