danvers happy belated birthday! Also Mr.Danvers why you no like cake?!! I lurve carrot cake too. I think it will be on the Easter dinner table for us. How is DD2? I don't know if you remember but lil fella took a spill last summer and we decided to wait for symptoms after calling Children's. I am certainly more at ease with the 2nd. If it was DS, we would've high tailed it to Children's urgent care. DS basically stopped napping by 4. Naps were hit or miss when he started PreS and completely dropped it by 4.

We are struggling with our transition to one nap. Some days she doesn't want to nap and some days she can't make it to 10 am without losing it. So, who knows. We're still on 2 naps and after being difficult the last couple of weeks very likely due to teething, he's been doing much better and definitely still needs 2 naps even though they are 45 mins to only an hour each. I remember transitioning DS was really rough. He would face plant in the middle of lunch, get overtired and was a bear when that happened. We transitioned because he was fighting his nap time so hard. Sounds like she likes her naps and if she isn't showing signs of dropping to 1, I'd just leave it until she starts fighting them. Enjoy that time for as long as you can! Trust me, you'll miss it.

We are still in the middle of transitioning too. DS acts like he still needs his morning nap, but usually won't fall asleep. And then he's a total bear by the time his afternoon nap rolls around. Yesterday for MIL, he napped 30 minutes all day. So, he was.....fun...last night.

Toddler logic: chew on the yogurt tube until it’s half shredded. Suck on a cracker until it’s mush. 🤔

Any other O17 babies waking up a lot at night? We're up 3-4 times/night lately. I'm so over it. Teeth? Leap?
UGH. I need sleep.

CoachTsWife oh no! Hopefully it’s just teeth and will get better soon. Maybe try ibuprofen right before bed or after the first time he wakes up?

He wakes up at like 10pm, then midnight, and then 3/4am. When I bring him into bed with me, he gives this satisfied humpf sound, and goes right to sleep next to me. It’s like I can hear him smirking - “ha! Try to leave me in the crib will you?” Sigh. I like when he’d sleep longer stretches in his own space!!!! Hopefully it’s just a leap thing.

But I'm glad we're not alone - misery loves company and all that. I downloaded The Wonder Weeks app with DS1 and used it some but haven't really referenced it much with DS2. I just checked and we're in a cloudy period.

Oh no, no, noooo. What does he want motn? To be held. omg yes he was! But thankfully not anymore. He didn’t want milk or anything, just to be rocked. He’d pass out on me and wake up screaming as soon as I put him back down.

I am ready for the weekend! We are going to my niece’s birthday party tomorrow. The girls love their cousins so despite the always awkward in-law stuff I want this for them.
We are actually going up early to drive around a few towns somewhat nearby to MIL and FIL to get a feel the area. Some jobs are opening up at a school and I have so many thoughts about the possibility of moving and changing jobs and houses and everything else. We do want to be closer to family and we really want a good area to raise our kids but now that jobs are starting to open we need to make some actual decisions and I’d really like a magic 8 ball just to tell me 🎱

danvers We are basically staying put because I can’t make a decision about moving. It’s too much adulting looking at schools and neighborhoods and making a grown up decision.

MIL watched the boys while DH and I went on an impromptu date. We just went out to eat, but it was nice to get away. Sometimes unexpected impromptu dates are the best.

danvers Stuff like that is hard, but as someone who moves pretty often (relative to most people), I would say that it’s definitely something you can manage, and if it means you work closer to where you live - even better!! It improves the quality of your life so much!

Another day another expensive car repair bill, it was supposed to be brakes but the car is 9 years old so of course it snowballed, there’s more wrong with it and now we don’t have the car until Monday afternoon at the earliest. This is the second big bill for this car over the past month, it’s turning into a money pit.
DD2 is so much fun lately, she can say 3 words and is following instructions. This is one of my favorite stages. Not much planned this weekend.

doodlemommy OMG! Yassss! Stick baby stick...How is everything else with the house listing and did you decide on that house you were looking at? Sorry for the late reply, this has been an insanely busy week! So far baby is sticking!!! My first midwife appointment isn’t until April 4 so fingers crossed everything progresses smoothly! The photos of our house were done this week and they look AMAZING. The listing is going live on Thursday, eek! We still love the house we looked at but any offer we make is going to be pending sale of ours. So my bil/realtor might start talks with the other realtor to gauge their willingness to come down on price but we aren’t 100% ready to make an offer yet. In the next couple weeks we will see what comes on the market and how things go with our house I guess! The market isn’t super great, houses are selling for good prices but they are sitting for an average of 90 days which makes the whole thing hard

My mom is coming to watch the boys while H and I get lunch and maybe shop a little.
It is so so gross here. Not rainy, just low 70s and humid and foggy to where everything is wet anyway. Our back porch is such a slipping hazard when it’s like this.

We survived swimming lessons with both kids today, little one is now asleep and I am about to take a nap. Zzzzz
Big kid has a birthday party to go to tomorrow and I have some work to do, got behind this week at work. :/
We are thinking about a 3-4 day adult only vacation next month. Maybe Disney! MIL said she would watch the kidlets at our house as long as we still have the nanny come during the day. Can’t blame her for that, it’s tough without any help.

bootsorhearts1 adult only vacation sounds so wonderful. How can I convince someone to keep the toddler overnight for multiple days? 😆

bootsorhearts1 adults only vacation sounds wonderful but to be honest I probably would just spend the time sleeping. 😂 CoachTsWife don’t you have a vacation coming up soon? Taitai actually H and I are both super close to our current schools right now. It’s the distance from my family (and his too - though mine is more helpful) that bothers us so we’re looking for new places to teach. That and we’re not sure this area is the right place to raise our kids. The are a lot of issues here that don’t necessarily align with our values and while I know no place is perfect, I don’t think things are going to get better here and we’d like to move before it becomes impossible to sell. @augustbloom I’m not sure why I thought I would be more decisive after kids because that’s definetly not the case. Despite not being in love with where we’re at I like the coziness of what we do have and I’m stressed by all the unknowns.

DS1 got sick after lunch. He threw up several times but seemed ok by bedtime.
DS2 stirred a little after 10pm and threw up.
Kinda just waiting for DH or me to get sick.... 😕
