Does anyone have recommendations of low impact workouts that work with a bum knee? I've been riding a recumbent bike and doing basic arm and core exercises, but I know that's going to get old.
I think I'll be heading to the ortho next week since the stupid knee isn't improving on it's own. (Apologies for the whining.)

I've been walking since 9am. I only let myself have one treat park treat (funnel cake). And I did stretching while everyone was asleep in the hotel room this morning! Much better than anticipated. Hopefully we can find a restaurant where I can put together a compliant dinner.

I would guess the ortho will include some PT as part of whatever needs to be done. That would be best handled by them- what you should and shouldn't go can vary a lot depending on what the issue is.

I'm painting the playroom today but my arms and legs are dead from this weeks workouts. It's making this really hard. I know I'm stronger but my gosh, I feel like a weak little kitten.

thisbitch have you noticed that you don't eat huge portion sizes of food other than grains? This diet really slows down my large portion sizes of the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This is very true, IME. And I don't know if you've ever been around for my processed food rants, but so many of those products have actual appetite enhancers added to them. In addition, they're very specifically designed to increase your appetite and to never make you full. Have you ever sat and eaten an entire bag of chips or Oreos? I have. Wonder why? I have real issues with the entire marketing of that stuff too, but that's a rant for a different day.

I've been having knee issues on and off since January and it is such a mindfuck when you are used to working out and then you are limited. Good luck!

I think she answered your question, but if you need more, let us know. If you get bored with that workout, Google body weight exercises for more variety. And you tube can help with proper form. A lot of people like the BBM workouts too.

I'm going to use this week's lifestyle practice as a push to start posting here. I've lurked the boards forever and finally posted for a few days last weekend. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

My weekend has been filled with pre vacation errands. We leave next Saturday for a week at the beach. Yesterday was a bust eating wise but today is a new day.

We leave next Saturday for a week at the beach too! Lazy morning here. We were all exhausted from a busy day yesterday. As soon as the little one goes down for a nap I'm going to go for a run. Hoping I can make it out before the rain starts.

Has anyone dealt with carpal tunnel issues? I'm pretty sure that's what's wrong with my hand (it's been a slowly worsening issue for years). I found some stretches that are supposed to help, but was curious if anyone had some others that were helpful.
And yes, I should probably see a doctor/PT about it.

Just took SD to the airport. We accidentally ended up at a brunch buffet on the way home (went to a favorite restaurant and didn't realize they don't have their regular menu on Sundays). I did pretty well minus the biscuits and andouille sausage gravy. Which was 100% worth it.

I RESISTED THE CAKE AND ICE CREAM! The old Lovo would have never hesitated and maybe had seconds. I am so proud of myself!

How are people feeling today? Holiday weekends really make me stop and reflect about my relationship with food and exercise.
Food is a reward for me...a community building exercise...a show of love and affection to friends and family. Thinking about when I make choices to indulge in this context is helpful for me. At least insofar as cutting out the "standing around braless at 10 p.m. pounding milk duds" ... that is not a spiritual activity in the least. Lol.

I'm reading the meal planning thread and wanting to make all the carby things. Anyone want to share what they have coming up this week? I haven't shopped yet except for a TJs run in St Louis today.

Yesterday I made lemon garlic butter shrimp over zucchini noodles. The noodles were amazing and sucked up all the flavor. Yummo!

My favorite meal so far has been chipotle pork tacos. Cook pork, onions, summer squash, and half a jar of chipotle salsa in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours, then shred. Serve on corn tortillas with chopped raw cabbage and carrots. We paired it with sweet potatoes.
