I just had an appointment and the Dr I saw this time just made me feel like dirt for being on meds. She kept saying I should be taking safer things, like Unisom 🤦🏼♀️ I tried telling her I've tried that but she was such a know it all. I don't think she's ever had kids but even though I haven't been throwing up constantly, the nausea has been kicking my ass and she just kept writing me off. I didn't make a follow-up appointment so I think I'll be switching. I think that by my 4th baby I know how my body works during first tri, thankyouverymuch 🙄 Were you asking for zofran? It’s back to being a class B med.. the stupid unisom/b6 only works when it’s postnasal drip making you sick, lady! (Your OB, not you) when I brought it up to the MW two weeks ago that I had suffered so bad last time, she was all “there was ONE study that made us all not prescribe it. Now, it’s been shown to not be that accurate so we can give it out when requested again.”

I have my first OB visit this afternoon, and their opinion is so far down my list of priorities for this pregnancy that I don't even care what they think. Give me diclegis and a zofran backup for the bad days, and just do your little thing with the dopplers/peeing in a cup and let's let my MFM handle everything else TYVM. When you've had multiple pregnancies that all have the same symptoms at the same time, let's just listen to mom!

Hope you feel better soon

thinkchocolate05 ((hugs)) I’m sorry for the spotting—how long does it usually take for yours to stop after you stop exercising? randomosity ugh hope you can make the switch—was this your same office for the last three?

Update on me—had my second beta this morning and it came back at 48,500 something. Doctor said that was an appropriate rise (50%) given that it is the 6th week and the doubling can spread out to every 3-4 days. So it theoretically would be on track to double in another two days. Anyway, they are keeping my u/s for the 19th so it’s just a wait and see. Spotting has stopped.

She was even like, "Who prescribed those to you?!" And I'm glad you mentioned that because I could have sworn I read something about the one bad study. I was on a zofran pump for almost 3 months with my second and shes perfectly healthy (we all know how great anecdotal experience is but my point being, I'm comfortable with it). I spoke with a pharmacy friend and she said the two meds are perfectly safe to take and to take together. And yeah, I LOLd when she kept telling me to take Unisom and eat crackers 🙄 I haven't heard that one before...ugh.

I had two of my kids in Vegas and my O15 was born on the east coast, where we are now. I've actually switched drs a lot...my first drs were much like this one I have currently and kept brushing me off when I'd ask for meds for m/s. Fortunately, a friend gave me a rec for a new Dr to check out so I think I'll give her a call.

And yeah, I LOLd when she kept telling me to take Unisom and eat crackers 🙄 I haven't heard that one before...ugh. The study was weird. They took like 1500 mothers/babies who had taken zofran and less than 20-30 had birth defects. Those birth defects have a 3-5% chance of happening anyway and are also linked to reduced folate intake among other things. One other study had similar findings, and a whole bunch of others were all “No! There’s no link!” 🤷🏼♀️ This is my third pregnancy on zofran. The only issues my children have are DS1 is autistic (which is linked to bipolar disorder that runs rampant in my family and to MTHFR) and DS2 has milk protein intolerance (which also runs in the family). /anecdotes

I sprinted yesterday evening, and then spotted brown and light pink from about 6-10 am. It seems to be gone since then. I hope it doesnt come back. I never had this with my other pregnancies, but it seems to happen for any high impact activity now. I'll mention it when I call the doctor to make my appointment. Freaks me out every time. So glad yours has stopped.

So we didn’t get to see much of anything but a fuzzy blob. I’m measuring right on track for 6 weeks (which is tomorrow) and I go back on 2/25 for another one. I had a beta drawn today too in addition to getting my antibody titers drawn, so I’m hoping a great number comes back.

Well, the symptoms hit hard this week. I barfed last night and broken tons of blood vessels on my face so I look a wreck today. With J (19mo) I only barfed once and the nausea was bad for two weeks and got better weekly after that, so hopefully this goes the same. Doesn't help that J decided to be awake from 2:30 to 5:00am last night. Thinking 18-month sleep regression or canines (they're cutting) or both but whatever it is, last night sucked. Plus the dog woke me at 1am because it rain was hitting the windows. Seriously, wtf dog?!

I am turning into an anxious mess this week because I’ve had two instances of brown/pink CM (after a workout the other day and after sex last night) and my appointment on the 28th can’t get here soon enough. Time is DRAGGING. I’m hesitant to call the OB because it’s not a constant issue, and I know some spotting is totally normal in first tri, but ugh.
In other news, my H is trying to get my mind off of things by taking me couch shopping! We’ve been needing a new one for so long and I’m pretty excited.

It never happened with my other pregnancies so my brain is running wild with possibilities.

sundog I have had a little bit of brown spotting today, and my PGALL brain is trying to go crazy. I’m trying to chalk it up to have the transvag u/s on Thursday and haven’t really left the house today. The first tri anxiety is awful.

Ugh, so I may possibly be miscarrying. I had spotting last night and then first thing this morning (very minimal so wasn't worried), but then at 9am had several red strings/clots fall into toilet and significant red bleeding. It stopped shortly after but on-call midwife had me go ahead and go into hospital to see what was going on.
Results were inconclusive. U/S looked good - clear gestational and yolk sacs, and a fetal pole but very very small (I'm 5w5 or 6d). Sonographer *thought* she could see the heartbeat but could never get the machine to measure it/pick it up, so we can't say for certain if it was there.
Bad news was my HCG level is 1185, which ER doctor said is too low and he thinks signals a miscarriage.
Talked to my midwife again and she was encouraging. She did not think 1185 means miscarriage, but did want me to go in at 7:30am on Monday for repeat betas and to schedule another u/s. She thinks I probably had a SCH that bled out which is why the sonographer didn't see one.
So I am kinda in a crappy holding pattern until Monday unless major bleeding happens again. Praying that baby is okay and trying to be hopeful/not stressed. I have only had slight spotting since 9, which makes sense since I had a pelvic exam and a long transvaginal u/s. Hoping for no more.

helloerrbody I’m not a medical professional in the slightest, but I don’t think your HCG is low for this point. I hope Monday gives you good news! I’ll be thinking of you FWIW- I don’t want to give false hope, but this does sound like a SCH. Both my m/c involved multi day heavy bleeding.

helloerrbody oh man, I'm so sorry you're in limbo right now. I hope you stop spotting and get some answers very soon. There's such a wide range for what are considered normal numbers and from what I can tell, your number sounds right within the normal range. Hugs ❤️ First tri is such a mindf*ck.
