We do sign language with DS and so did his nanny. He does a handful of signs. Mostly food related ones on a regular basis, but he sometimes signs music because his nanny would always sign it when she started his mobile. Finger to the palm is leaf, but most babies don’t have perfect form so if I had to guess he’s signing more or ouch. Both of those are both pointers together (more is bouncing them and ouch is them together and twisting). What is the context? When he is eating? DD never used to sign water correctly, but we knew what she meant. He does it randomly when he is playing. I just wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything. We normally follow meal times as close as we can on weekends but part of me thinks he’s hungry when he does it so I was thinking “more”?? DD signs more kind of like that.

You guys, DD had a febrile seizure 😫 she just got a fever overnight. She had Tylenol at 1030 and 430 and then at 9 she was sleeping on my chest and seized. She stopped breathing and get lips went blue 😣 we waited forever for an ambulance, but thankfully there were some police there quickly. We're just at the ER now, waiting for results on the blood test. Anyone go through this before? Omg I’m so sorry. Praying you get some answers

blabbermouth how scary! The only thing I know about febrile seizures is that they typically don't cause long lasting neurological issues and most kids out grow it. But still, such a scary thing to experience, especially with her lips turning blue! Thankfully she was on you so you knew it was happening.

A teenager that was missing all week from my local area ( roloma will probably triangulate me now) was found dead today. The night he went missing was a snow storm and he was walking. No foul play. I cried telling dh even though I don’t know the family.

She was diagnosed with the flu! She even got her shot and the booster shot 😣 so that was the reason for the fever spike and therefore the seizure. So we just have to keep her hydrated and keep up on the Advil/Tylenol alternating. Otherwise they weren't worried. The offered to let us stay, but DH wanted to come home, even though I think he's more traumatized than I am. Anyway, we're home, finally, and she's sleeping soundly.

E signs “more” by pointing at her palm too. Also, blabbermouth, I’m SO sorry for your scary day!

Oh no blabbermouth! That is so scary! People really don’t think about how dangerous the flu can be. Glad you are all home and she’s doing ok.

I’ve totally been MIA this weekend. We finally had N’s birthday party and I was straight out cleaning and cooking. It’s 7:30 and I’m wiped. I’m going to watch a little of the live Rent but will probably go to bed early. The weekends are just too short!

blabbermouth, my DS1 had febrile seizures. It is terrifying. He had them any time he got a fever but hasn’t had one since he was 2. They often grow out of them but they can stick around for a while. We were told the key, obviously, is to make the area around them as safe as possible when it is happening. We just tried to stay on top of motrin and tylenol when he was sick to hopefully avoid a spike. I’m so so sorry. Hopefully you don’t have to go through it again. Big big hugs.

So many hugs, blabbermouth! Glad she is home but that must have been so terrifying! ldubhawksfan - UGHHH to the HFM! Hope everyone is doing better today. Thanks. It was so scary, DH is still shook up! Now it just seems like she has a regular cold kind of, snotty, cough, whiny, tired but won't sleep. You know, regular Monday with a toddler 😂 We are keeping her medicated for the fever, but the fever seems to be coming down on its own a bit. She is drinking a TON of water and milk and eating a bit so that's helping I'm sure.
