Skills ds2 has learned this week: opening door knobs, climbing into the tub, and throwing items into trash can. 🤦
He also bleated back at the goats today. From the Tula on my back. So I was just walking around the zoo with this growling, bleating baby on my back. Never a dull moment over here.

You guys are making me feel very nervous and some sort of way about having to send C to DC this fall. Ugh, DNW sick littles. I got C to sleep last night without nursing. I don't know if this is the end of BF for us but it looks like we're moving that direction. Lots of mixed emotions. I may get bananas thrown at me for this, but a positive anecdote for you: both my kids have been in day care from a really young age and at most have just gotten colds. DD1 was hospitalized one time at almost 3 for bronchiolitis which was scary, but otherwise, nada. I know we have been lucky.

DD2 was hospitalized for the flu last year for 18 hours, but mostly the kids are just snot faucets from September to April. DH was the only one to catch HFM and gastro. My kids are prone to croup but they seem to be quite mild cases.

Had to start locking the basement door and I found her just in the tub playing the other day. Like, what?

And that was while I was still on maternity leave, so who knows where she picked it up from.

And now it’s pissing down rain. So that should be fun tomorrow as it’s supposed to dip below 0 tonight. I’m gonna hesitate a guess and say busses are going to be cancelled tomorrow.

Someone called me just before midnight. It looked like one of the local hospitals numbers so I answered it expecting to have awful news, but it was a wrong number. And then I was wired and couldn't fall back asleep for a while. The baby woke to eat at 3 and ds1 had a croupy cough and the same time. So I fed the baby, stuck ds1's head into the cold, gave him some honey and went back to sleep. I'm tired!

cnf , M has been in daycare since 13 weeks old. The worst he has gotten in at least a year is a cold/runny nose. I totally think it is because his immunity is so built up. He has never had lice, only had what I think was a VERY minor case of HFM, and has had 3 times in his 3+ years where he got a stomach bug (and those only lasted 1 puke each).

DS went to school! Hallelujah 🙌. I vacuumed quickly this morning. Can’t go outside since it’s so sloppy. Last night’s rain is mixing with snow now. Mother Nature is riding the hot mess express. I think I’m going to put DD2 down for a nap. She’s grumpy.

I am so fucking crabby today. I ended up getting my iud pulled on Tuesday, started birth control, and got my “period”, so I think my hormones are messed up. Blah.

Sorry about the rough night and morning jules1614, and pootsen, I’m on snowday #7. It was......unexpected. They originally called for a delay but warned they could call it depending on the side roads. My district is made up of 7 towns and geographically it is huge. So I sent the boys to the babysitters and now I’m relaxing. I did clean my living room so I have been a little productive.

Hugs pootsen ! And sorry about the call, jules1614 , I would have been expecting the same and wouldn't have slept either. Hope your day gets better! WFH today because I had an appointment at my local precinct to get the new car seat install checked. The cops that did the check were like "Wow, you did a really good job!" I kinda shrugged and said "I just read the directions." Apparently most people don't. It's been pissing rain all day here too so I'm kinda glad it worked out that I'm from home today so I don't have to be out in it any more than necessary. N woke up grumpy this morning and cried when I dropped him at DC, which he rarely does. Hope his mood improved - he did take a slightly longer nap than usual today so we'll see when it's time to pick him up lol. His voice is almost completely back, though it tends to sound threadier at night and if he's been crying a bit. He definitely gave me what he had, though, minus the fever. Blargh.

Hello! Sorry to everyone dealing with sick kids. It sucks. So far my kids are somewhat healthy.
Found 2 molars poking through Nolan’s mouth today so that explains a lot. Hopefully he will perk up now a bit for the rest of the week. He’s been pretty good I guess but just a bit off. And just mad at everything. I know it’s him trying to communicate what he wants and I just don’t know and he just squeals/yells all the time. Super frustrating. We’ve been trying to teach him signs since like 8 months old and he really only do please and more. But that just doesn’t cut it. He can say mama and cheese (when you take his picture 😂😂). So hopefully soon he can get more words and we can get over this phase.

The day started out super gross but then the sun came out!! So we spent awhile outside. Ds1 didn't have to go to time out once today! Each day is different but I feel like he's starting to see the light again. 🤞 He does miss being around other kids his age but it is what it is right now. The random hugs and telling me how much he loves his brother just make my heart so happy.

Yeah Jules MH just sent me this- I am okay with a little cabin fever as long as our pipes don’t freeze/burst like last year. That was such a nightmare!!

Ds2 slept through the night last night!! No idea why or how but I enjoyed the straight 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. It's been awhile. Science museum was good. Ds1 did great. Ds2 walked around a little bit.
I've lost almost 10 lbs since January 1st just doing dry January. I think I will stick to a glass of wine on the weekends once it's over.
Hope everyone is having a good Friday!

grumpycat, I've been booze-free during the week, it is... fine. Haha. I just realized I am all out of wine at home though, so will probably need to stop on my way My friends and I are planning a short girls' trip in a couple weeks! My friend has to go out of town for work, so suggested we meet up with her for Saturday and Sunday. I am soooo looking forward to it. Sleeping 'in' until like 8, eating and drinking, and Ikea, haha. Such simple wants. DH is apprehensive, but I didn't really ask.

Ugh, I’m on that map and it makes me angry. 80 some degrees below freezing is just stupid.
