We got the call Sunday that someone in Bs room at DC has flu type A. This morning he was 3/10 there. I’m hoping that has a lot to do with the holidays.
I’m suppose to go out with girlfriends tonight but I feel like hell. I should have left work an hour ago to take a nap. I’ve had to cancel the last two times because B has been sick. ☹️

Ugh, what a Monday all around. Basically will just say sorry to everyone instead of tagging individually.
I finally made myself a doctor's appointment. Apparently three weeks of a cold is where I finally draw the line and hope I'll be better 'tomorrow' without any intervention. The sinus pain and headache are still here (well I had two or three days where I thought I was better last week!) so thankfully he can fit me in tomorrow.
And then Wednesday I drop my car off for some maintenance. Sigh.

Sorry for all of the illnesses and infestations everyone. Wine and Lysol to all!
The boys are getting over a cold which means I’m getting it now. I also scheduled an impromptu iud check for tomorrow because I’ve been having some weird cramping and can’t find the strings. So that will be lovely. It really is the mondayest Monday. Maybe the full moon has something to do with it.

Not too much happening in my neck of the woods. Just cold as fuck outside
AJ has been walking around the house with a stuffed santa claus yelling "anta!" lately Lol

Found lice on me too. So ... Yay. Dh is going to do a home treatment on me tomorrow night. I don't have nearly as many as ds1 so I think they had just started moving in. 🤨😖

Hi all. Today was a good day but solo with both kids (except for a workout that my sitter came for to help me escape for a bit). H is on his way home and I have a glass of delicious wine. 👍

I’m so glad to have today off. Not only was I up too late watching football, but it’s only 2 degrees outside. E was up around 6, so it’s 8:15 and she’s down for her morning nap already. I’d like to go to the gym when she gets up, but I also don’t want to leave the house. I guess I’ll decide later. For now, I’m watching Outlander and drinking coffee. PS—Go Pats!! I forget exactly where you are, but H sent me the weather report where he was in NJ, it was 2° and felt like -19°. I can’t even imagine what that feels like. Fortunately he was only there for like 36 hours.

HFM, Day 3. Ughhhh. DS at least seems in better spirits today. The rash is worse but I don’t think it’s bothering him. He keeps spitting up, so I’m concerned about dehydration. DD and H are out of the house for the morning so at least I don’t have to try and keep them separated. Oh gosh, I’m sorry.

blabbermouth not with DS yet, but DD has had a water bottle in bed with her since she was 2. She will wake up, take a sip and then go back to sleep. I do the same thing, especially in the winter when our house becomes a desert with the heat blaring. DD1 does this as well. H is the same way.

Nooooooo just got an email about hfm in the infant room at dc. Seriously we have avoided it with DD and I will cry if DS gets it on his second week of daycare! DS was asleep by 6:50 and barely ate again tonight. Poor thing. He was just so tired. Just a tad warm, not a fever. I couldn’t get a good look in his mouth, but what should I look out if he does get it? Do the blisters usually start in the mouth or limbs??

White listers that you cant scrape off. Me and my oldest got it in the mouth too. More on the tongue. DD had mouth and a few sores on her hands. So basically I’m no help as they all started in the mouth.

Just catching up- Sorry about the HFM bazi. My pediatrician basically told me all children under 2 get some form of HFM. It was rampant here this fall so I think it's just a matter of time before E gets it. Lice is my nightmare grumpycat. You definitely deserve some wine. We are going to Hawaii in 3 years. We have a Disney trip in 2 years to pay for first. I CANNOT wait. Hawaii has always been on my bucket list. AnnPerkins Add me to it's freezing out. My students were supposed to be going to the ski mountain this morning and they canceled due to it being -21 wind chill. E is basically just walking now. It started last Wednesday and by Friday he was off. I love watching do the drunken zombie walk. Although, he has been a lot better the last few days about having his arms down. He slept pretty decently this weekend and I was hoping we were on the upswing. But after last night that's a big NOPE. Even after we got him back to sleep, N woke up from a nightmare and it took him over an hour to fall back to sleep. So, again I got about 4 hours of sleep. UGH.

Lysol, clorox wipes, and alcoholic beverages for everyone! This time of year sucks. Hope you are having a blast, AnnPerkins! N's doing better, but he's reached the "sounds worse than he is" part. His fever is gone, his diaper rash is mostly gone (save a few raw spots that the pedi recommended calmoseptine for, which is working like a charm), but the cough is lingering and his voice is hoarse from all the strain. But pedi cleared him for DC though so yesterday we were FINALLY able to get to BBB to look at car seats. Got the Graco 4ever for my car, and discovered it actually will fit in H's Jeep OK, so we're going to order another today. Kind of a stupid question here - our house doesn't have a garage, so cars are parked outside in the driveway. With the bucket seat, I'd just put a hat on N and layer him with blankies to get him outside (since I know no coats while in a car seat), but carrying just him/no bucket seat, that gets a little harder. I've been holding him tight and draping a blanket over him to get him to the car and from the car to DC (never more than a few feet either time), but is there an easier way to do this? Wrestling him into a coat then back out of it in the seat seems like a waste of time and energy, but if that's what's best then obviously I'll do it. Or, like everything, am I just overthinking this because it is so mother effing cold right now?

cakewench glad he's feeling better! I made a carseat poncho for ds2 to deal with the cold. They are pretty easy (if you don't add on a hood!) to make. Otherwise people sell them on Etsy. Basically a blanket but since it goes over their head less to juggle for you and you don't have to unwrap him to get him in the carseat. @idubhawksfan we haven't experience mouth blisters- it's always on the hands/feet and butt. We've also been lucky that the cars seemed pretty mild *knock on wood*

The no jackets rule is tough but I still put E in a fleece jacket over his clothes because it's better than nothing.

This is what I’m afraid of since he hasn’t been eating much since the end of last week. We tried to look in his mouth and didn’t see any sores, just a red area which could just be a sore throat. He had a rash on his butt this am but also had diarrhea. I’m just wondering if it really is HFM and how long it would actually take to start seeing blisters

cakewench we put a thin fleece jacket on N. He doesn't fight putting it on, he even helps. But a lot of people like the car seat ponchos! We are supposed to get another 6ish" of snow today. I am planning on leaving as soon as it starts, to hopefully avoid all of the idiot drivers out in the worst of it. I hate this weather. If it wasn't for grandparents living here I would be fighting for a move. I don't want to do winter for the rest of my life.

Sorry for all the sickness (and lice!) Add us to the list, 2 kids home with fevers today and an email from daycare that there are confirmed cases of the flu in both classrooms. I called our pediatrician to see if we should bring them in and they said they don’t test for flu or treat it any differently than any other virus so 🤷♀️. They’re pretty happy with just Tylenol and fluids so I guess we’ll try to ride it out.

We're getting another round of snow tonight and tomorrow morning, just in time for my commute! They are predicting 5-9" of heavy wet stuff. I'm hoping our plow guy comes early. But I brought my computer home just in case I get snowed in for a bit.
