New carpet is in!!! Floors are 70% done... we're hoping to move next Tuesday! ETA: the piece at the bottom of the stairs is just a swatch... it's not staying there!

I love that carpet color. What brand and color is that? We went through express flooring! I'm not sure the color name, I'll look and see if it's listed on the paperwork!

Our builder switch flooring vendors. So I'm waiting on all his new samples to come in. They didn't even have a grey option before. I hope there's one now.

Do cabinets in the bathrooms have to match the kitchen? They'll be the same style, but I'm doing grey in the kitchen and white in the bathrooms. Is this a big no-no? flamingo

Is this a big no-no? flamingo No, they don't have to match. I would say probably just for visual flow and consistency, I would do something in a similar style or family--which it sounds like you are

Is this a big no-no? flamingoNot flamingo, but I also say no, as long as they are the same/similar style for flow. I'm planning on doing the opposite, white in the kitchen and grey in the bathrooms.

Not super exciting for most but we had our soil test for our septic system. They can range anywhere from 10=50K depending on your soil quality. We have the best case scenario and our system will only be about 10-12K. I swear DH is standing straighter from the stress of not knowing being gone. We're so relieved.

We also altered our house plan. Again. The builder found a way to get me another window in the kitchen. Any way to get more natural light in I'm all for.

slenle yes. The garage on this is not right. And its not pictured on that exterior picture. We are changing it so I can keep that kitchen window. And the colors on the exterior will be different. The yellow will be white, the green will be charcoal grey and the roof is black. The door will come white and I'll paint it. I'm thinking navy right now but that could change lol. The upstairs is another 2 bedrooms, den and bathroom. It will be unfinished and DH will do that *hopefully* this winter. Work schedule pending. And the whole house is reversed to work on our lot. I'm hoping he can finalize the drawings this week and I can get a real copy. This is just what we put together so we were all on the same page. The real drawing will obviously be better lol. Hold for pictures. Have to add from my phone.

Dh thinks the house is to big. We both grew up in 1400 sq. feet. The first floor of this is 1880. The top floor when finished is another 1100. So almost 3000 total. He thinks it's to much. But this is our forever house. I would rather have a little to big of a house than the opposite problem.
Edit: Bedroom 2 will be the boys room, bedrooms 3 will be the play room. I can see into it from the kitchen which I love. When the upstairs is finished the boys will go up and the new baby will take their room and go up when I'm comfortable if he/she wants to. The play room will stay a play room forever and ever amen. I need that for my sanity.

peachsmama I love love love the look of your house & with kids you can never have to much space. Thanks. There was another plan with the exact same layout but 400 sq. feet smaller. He wanted that one. But it didn't have any walk in closets and the living room and kitchen/dining room were a lot smaller. I can deal with small bedrooms but I need storage and I want the whole family to be able to comfortably be together in the main living space.

nam2013 Woah. Is that blue the final kitchen color? I love that! No that our old kitchen, our new one is going to blue again though. I can't wait to see the end result. Stainless steel, 5 burner stove, apron sink, nearly black stone counter tops...
