xolastunicornxo I'd be interested in the price difference of the laminate and the $22k for what you really want, hopefully you can make it work cause redoing floors once you live in it is a nightmare. This. I wouldn't look at anything you decide to do with the floors as a solution for a couple of years. Redoing floors once you're in a home is practically impossible so I would definitely explore all options and make sure you love your decision. KatieP's laminate looks awesome.

Has anyone ever used chalk paint to redo furniture? I'm considering doing something like this on my dining room table, but I'm nervous about chalk paint/wax seal. I'm gel staining the top, and I'm comfortable with that, I just don't know if I should just use regular latex paint on the rest.

mskatiep not me, but my sister used chalk paint to redo all her nursery furniture. It turned out awesome. She did it after baby #2 and now her 4th is using it and it still looks good!

mskatiep my sister just redid a table pretty much identical to that. I'm pretty sure she just used latex.

I loved it and loved the way they turned out!

mskatiep I used chalk paint on a coffee table. By I, I mean my sister did it last summer for me. She painted it, used sand paper to rough it up some, a black crayon to distress it and then put a top coat on to seal it in. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow for you.

xolastunicornxo and was it easy? Did you seal with wax or poly? tgrimes yes please! I'd love to see it! Especially with black crayon to distress.
