The only talking C does is “Na!” While pointing at the cupboard for a snack. He used to say mama but not anymore. No mama, dada, bye bye, nothing. I’m really anxious for him to start talking. AJ was talking up a storm and then kinda just stopped when he was learning how to walk

Last night was awful. So much screaming. Poor little guy. I'm not sure if it's teeth or ears since he has yet another cold and we just finished antibiotics a week ago. Hopefully I can get him in for an ear check today. But first, coffee and breakfast!

L points at everything and kind of says "ah" or "eh" at this point so I don't know what he's trying to say. I did think he had 4 or 5 words at around a year but I haven't really recognized anything lately either.

cdnfarmgirl - I hope you figure it out/ start feeling better quickly. It always seems worse right before vacation. I thought I had a UTI coming right before we went out of town a few months ago and thankfully had some leftover antibiotics that I could use and it felt better really quickly. quinn - I'm sorry about the ex-H drama. I hope it gets resolved quickly. Hugs.

E does a lot of babbling. He can say uh oh and Mama, and something that sort of sounds like hello. Sorry about the ex-h drama quinn,

Ds2 babbles ... A lot. He doesn't have many real words yet though. Ds1 had his language explosion at 18 months so I'm thinking that ds2 will have something similar. Right now, he's just so grumpy with these teeth coming in. Hugs quinn. ❤️

Yes, get antibiotics before it gets bad...and some probiotics. Knock it out so you can enjoy your time away! I’ve never bought probiotics- what do I look for? Refrigerated ones is what I've been told to go for. A mix of lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. If you can find Klaire Labs, that is what I've always gotten.

A has been falling a lot lately, stepping on toys or other random things on the floor and toppling over. I think he is growing.
DS3 is still refusing underwear and will occasionally use the potty, but is dry overnight. His teachers just told H that he is dry all day and using the potty there, so they want us to send underwear to see if they can get him in them. I'm ready.

Good luck with potty training clucky! One diaper baby is plenty. I can't believe how many words dd has then! Although I think girls tend to talk more/earlier? She says the most random stuff sometimes and then maybe never again? For example: carrots! wada (water). dipe-ah (diaper). Also she said 'nin' for in. We had a friend over with her 2 month old so we set up dd's playpen for him to sleep in and then she was obsessed for it for a week or so and kept wanting to go 'nin' it, haha.

N had a large vocabulary around this stage but he didn't even crawl yet when he was the same age. E is almost completely walking on his own and doesn't have too many words. It's weird how it all works out.

Peer pressure is super helpful, too bad he doesn't car about the brother pressure. We haven't been a single diaper family since we had 1 kid. 😱 A is running around, but not really any words just a hissing sound. He did just start finally signing "milk" yesterday.

sarahandben108, it is so strange the wide range of normal! Like now that DD is walking a bit, I realize that I have friends whose kids walked at 9 months and DD would have been walking for 5 months by now, which seems crazy. grumpycat, was going to mention yesterday that my stomach also hates me at my time of the month. In case bleeding and skin breakouts wasn't enough, argh. clucky, oh my gosh, can't wait for A to potty train for you, it'll be amazing Do you cloth diaper?

Hope your mom feels better soon, sarahandben108! Hugs, quinn! You guys... N ate lunch today! Cheeseburger to boot! (DCP said late last week she gave him some cheese and he ate it... are we turning a corner on cheese?! I HOPE SO.) Yesterday he only had one bottle at DC. Today so far, no bottles, assuming the app is accurate. It's like a switch flipped. Last night was the first night in a week we didn't give him a pain reliever before bed. He had a few stirs but for the most part did OK. Gotta check his mouth out later and see if we have anything new lol. Question for you - his cheeks seem kinda dry and a little rosy. Seems worse in the AM than the rest of the day... possibly because he's a tummy sleeper so he's always sleeping on one or the other? Should I use some lotion/moisturizer on it, or maybe some Aquaphor? It doesn't seem to be bothering him but I don't want it to get itchy. No matter how I try to stay on top of his nails, he always feels like Mini Wolverine the next day...

cakewench maybe they're chapped? I would use aquaphor. That's usually my go-to. Lotion might sting if they're chapped

Thanks for the love. I might make a thread at some point on the private board, but as of right now, I can't even gather my thoughts. It's just too much bazi it is affecting (or is it effecting? I never know the difference with that one lol) ds2. That's why it's been so difficut

Ds3 was saying over 20 words at this age and knew his colors and shapes. AJ growls and points 🤣 The differences between kids at this stage is astounding. In the end they all talk back and never shut up

quinn you got it right. Affect is the verb and effect is the noun.

That's why it's been so difficut *pushes up nerd glasses * Short answer to the bolded: Affect = verb, meaning to influence, as in "The shutdown is affecting government workers and their families" Effect = noun, the thing that was influenced, as in "Study Focuses on the Effect of Antibiotics on Germs"

Got some antibiotics. Confirmed UTI. Perfect. 🙄🙄 at least I’m on meds now and the doctor gave me a few extra pills in case it doesn’t get better over our trip.

In my experience the antibiotics start to work pretty quick. AZO makes a product to help with bladder pain if needed and cranberry pills. If you can't stomach the non-sugared cranberry juice.
